3 month bandiversary and I knew I had to take updated pictures. Honestly looking at the before pictures I didn't realize how bad I looked unless I saw pictures and that is why I stayed out of pictures! The way my picures look now is the way I felt I looked before. Does that make any sense? I look at the picures now and I get so pissy about people saying how skinny I look (and they say it all the time at work) because I am NOT ANYWHERE CLOSE TO SKINNY. Maybe in another 50 lbs. Band Lessons.pdf -
Down another 3.6 lbs. 225.5 and that makes exactly 60 lbs since my pre-op!
-
Well today make 3 months since I've been banded and I am officially down 60 lbs since my pre-op two weeks prior to that. WOW! Here is some from the night before and today!

Lo Profile Ports? all details welcomed
julie.ann commented on fitflab25's blog entry in My path to being comfy with my self in and out.
I heard someone was in a trial with lap band that had a low profile port. I don't know if the port had anything to do with the trial. I thought about it and I have heard about better initial weight loss with the Lap band. After talking to my doctore I decided that if my port sticks out after I have lost SO MUCH WEIGHT then that is a fabulous problem to have and I will have it repositioned when I have plasitic surgery. (I'm sure I will need a TT) Good luck it is a hard decision. Ps: The realize band was about $100 more expensive. That isn't why I chose Lapband, but I thought I would mention it. -

Don't be discourage because I am stupid! :bored: This is the first time this has happened to me and it was because I wasn't taking small enough bites. I am three months out today. I have lost 60 lbs exactly from my pre-op weight. This is the best thing I have ever done for myself! I was self pay at $9950 and the first 3 months of fills are free and $15 after that. That is really unusual! My doctor fills until I feel restriction and then pulls back a little. Some doctors only put in a set amount (0.5cc each time) I've only needed 2 fills others have needed 7 or 8 to find the sweet spot. Many people don't have restriction until 2 or 3. Keep researching! This is a great thing!

Please help me. I have slimed but have just found out what PBing is. I feel like I still have something stuck and I have been PBing for about 20 minutes now. It is still hurting and still trying to go down, but slime is coming back up constantly. I have had to stop twice while typing this. Is this normal PBing? Could I have something stuck in my pouch? Why would that hurt. Is this just something that happens when you really get stuck up high. How long might this go on? PLEASE HELP!!

OMG! Getting stuck is not for sissys!!! And not for me!!!
julie.ann commented on julie.ann's blog entry in My Secret Journey
1-28-09 I got stuck. I don’t mean my weight. I’m talking about my chicken breast I made for supper. If you have never had anything S-T-U-C-K then I can’t even begin to tell you how horrible and miserable it is!!!!! I have done some small time sliming in the past, but tonight was the first time I did any PBing (productive belching). I couldn’t have imagined what that was like! When I have slimed in the past I would have some belching trying to move that piece of whatever (usually meat) down to my stomach. This time I might have a tiny belch and all this slime would come up and I couldn’t control it. I can’t believe how much would come up around the chicken I had stuck. BLAH!!!!! It took about 80 minutes to get past it. I couldn’t believe all of the sudden it passed and I was okay. My throat is still sore. I’m going to take it easy. Needless to say I didn’t eat supper tonight. I followed that ordeal with a protein shake and a couple of pieces of cheese latter on. I wanted to keep things liquid or soft. I also didn’t make it to the gym tonight because of this. I was going to go after I finished supper. I guess tonight supper finished me. This morning I was starting my metabolism up about with a Morningstar sausage. I a bite that was a tiny bit too big and it slowed me down. I started thinking maybe my fill from 2 1/2 weeks ago started working and tightening me up. I've always been tighter in the evening....I guess so! I hope I never do something stupid enough to make me feel like that again!!!! :blushing: -
Way to go Sarah! I knew you could kick it into high gear! That is Awesome! I'me working on getting my calories 800-1000. I think I feel better and I'm losing at a good rate! Talk to you later. PS: I hit 60 lbs lost today!!!

It was chicken breast that I haven't had problems with before, but I will be more careful from now on!! I took too big of a bite I guess. I took a hot shower and tried to calm down. This morning I was starting my metabolism up about with a morningstar sausage. I a bite that was a tiny bit too big and it slowed me down. I started thinking maybe my fill from 2 1/2 weeks ago started tightening me up. I've alway been tighter in the evening....I guess so! That is horrible! It sucked so bad. As soon as it passed I felt normal. I am going to take it easy tonight and tomorrow. Thank you and I hope I never do something stupid enough to make me feel like that again!!!! >

Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum

Cybele: I financed my surgery through www.surgeryloans.com The interest is a little higher than I wanted, but I have fixed amount for a fixed time. There was a couple of finance companies that wanted me to use there medical credit card. Revolving credit and I would have NEVER gotten it paid off. You knw how credit cards work! The financing made it possible for me to go ahead with the surgery without waiting a couple of years to save the money! Now instead of having the surgery in 2010 I will ge at goal in 2010! Good luck. Dr. K is really nice and down to earth. His staff is super too! I live 7 hours away if driving so luckily I haven't had any problems. I have been text book so far. I am 3 months out tomorrow. -
Congrats! A say everyone who is done having kids should have a hysterectomy. One of the best things I ever did! I hope you are feeling much better! The pain was bad enough I didn't think the post op pain was so bad.

Time with flow by and before you know it you will be getting your band! I know you are disappointed, but keep your chin up!

Thanks BG and Michellelei and Sarah! ...that's what friends are for...understanding. Normorespandex - My husband was the first and most important person that helped me make the decision....or agreed to support me once I made the decision. My doctor....I just told him because I thought I would need his help. I didn't because I ended up being self pay. I told my best friend about a month or two after I had it done. I haven't told anyone else. I plan to tell my family when I get closer to goal and talk to them about getting the band. -

What does your daily meals consist of?
julie.ann replied to sarahp626's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I eat supper before I work out. It gives me more energy to workout and I don't have that starving feeling when I am done. I rehydrate the rest of the night with Water and crystal light drinks.
