    Sertraline since gastric sleeve

Just keep moving, drinking water and eating protein first hand stay off the scale! Your body letting go of the weight is not just physical but mental! Give yourself some grace and be patient with the process! It will move again so stay positive and try to keep the negative thoughts away! I just came off a three week stall where I fluctuated between 3 #s to the point I thought my scale was broken!!
  2. I didn’t tell anyone other than my sister before surgery, because I did the research and wasted years trying to do various diets that worked for a minute and then nothing! Trust me everyone else’s arguments had already been in my heads and I made my decision! They don’t realize living life at a high weight is just existing and taking up a lot of space! I am at the point in life that I don’t care what other people think or want for me! It’s me and God ! And now that I am 50# down and do go to the gym, don’t drink ANY soda or fast food (a weekly dessert is earned at gym) no one says “ you shouldn’t have done it”! Do it for you, your health and your chances to live a healthy vibrant life! It’s your journey and you have to deal with the consequences good, bad and otherwise! Love and joy to you!

    Gastric bypass RNY 7/24/23

Hope your doing well! Being home is a lot different than the hospital, you can actually sleep! Have your fluid and protein handy as it is a new mindset and habit! I was told 8 oz of fluid every hour! Welcome to your new life!

    Pain after surgery?

My pain from the surgery was minimal, I had neck pain and was told due to anesthesia. I did have a bit of nausea in the hospital that seemed to be exasperated by perfumed nurses, making me throw up hurting my stomach! I was home day after surgery and no pain just gas discomfort that OTC gas med helped. After a week all good! I had the gastric sleeve.

    Still in hospital in HELL

Wow really paying the price weren’t you! My hospital stay was not as bad but not good! I was in Hialeah/Miami and I was lucky to have a room by myself, but it barely helped! The staff spoke only Spanish (which I do understand) and keep calling me the Americano. Some of the nurses wore dragon hell perfume that made me gag, and would come flying in the room at all times putting every light on! My blood pressure spiked and a CNA came to take BP, who did not speak any English freaked out when I grabbed her arm when she wouldn’t tell me the reading! An elderly lady across the room screamed all night like she was passing stones, and when her family visited they screamed on the phones and too each other! And then a family member was in my room having a loud conversation with a CNA about her mothers treatment, and was offended after I asked them nicely to lower their voices, leave the room and close the door! After that, I was like I’m outta here! Luckily my surgeon came by right after and discharged me! Day three home and it does get better!

    Curious About Post-Op Days

I’m day three post op, had sleeve Wed and came home next day. The anesthesia kicked my butt (1st surgery)! The hospital was a bit whack, but once the pain and nausea under control it was mostly soreness. Didn’t help that some of the nurses wore hideous perfume that would make want to puke! Day one home I was still real tired, constipated and gas in abdomen that was uncomfortable. The issue is stomach learning how to work again and not sure what your feeling. So today up and around fine, only doing light stuff like taking out garbage, watering yard plants, etc. Trying to keep up with fluids, vitamins and protein!!
