  10. For the first time in years, I'm under 200 pounds. Woo hoo. Lost 34 pounds pre-op and now 24 post-op. Surgery was on October 2nd. Weight loss has been slower than I expected, but my nutritionist said that I have lost 48% of my excess weight and am right on track. Yay!

  12. Thank you so much for your response. It could be head hunger. I'll have to pay attention to the difference between head hunger and real hunger.
  13. Great way of looking at it. I'll have to use this idea.
  14. I had my VSG on October 2nd. I started real food this past Monday. I'm losing an average of 3 pounds per week. My problem is that not only am I hungry, I seem to be able to eat more than what I should be. It feels like I still have my entire stomach. Anyone else experiencing this? My surgeon says I'm doing great, but I'm not so sure.
  15. Post op pain wasn't too bad. I still have one spot that bothers me. I haven't resumed all of my normal activities yet, but I'm getting stronger.
  16. I'm 10 days out from surgery. The only complaint I have is that I'm still really really tired. I'm usually a side sleeper, so sleeping on my back has been challenging. I'm looking forward to going to pureed food soon.

  18. I'm on say 7 of my pre-op diet, but I struggle with not having soda. I catch myself reaching for one in the fridge and have to remind myself that my soda days are behind me.
  19. I just turned 60 and am scheduled for VSG on October 2nd. My BMI is 40, so I'm expecting a slower rate of weight loss. Maybe I'll be surprised and will lose weight faster than I expect.
  20. Welcome surgery twin. The 2nd can't come fast enough.
  21. NettyD will do. Hopefully we can be surgery twins!
  22. Just got my surgery date...10/2. It will be 15 and a half months since my first consultation. I'm so psyched.
  23. I'm on a lot of psych meds, and it hasn't stopped me for getting approved for surgery. My med manager is worried about therapeutic levels after the surgery, but at 240 pounds, I'm willing to risk it.
  24. Same to you. Still haven't received a date yet. Hopefully next week.
  25. It took a long time because of delays in appointments with the nutritionist and because it took a while before I was psychologically cleared. My med manager is against anyone having bariatric surgery, and her bias was a disservice to me. By the time the surgery happens, it will be over 15 months.
  26. How are you doing?
