  1. You look great! I've been trying to find my maintenance sweetspot as well. I'm 10lbs below my goal at the moment. I don't necessary want to be thinner- I'm loving my new wardrobe- but my body is doing what it wants to do at the moment. Not worried... like many have mentioned a rebound may happen. Good luck.

  3. Here's to a smooth surgery and recovery!!

There are some soft food recipes on the Baritastic app (if you use it). Check with your nutritionist as well. My nutritionist gave me some recipes compiled by my bariatric program- I didn't use any. I must admit that I was not adventurous with food in the first few phases. I stuck to the basics - shakes, yogurt, Soup, etc. During the pureed stages, I added tuna and other soft fish.

I was an 18E/40E & am a 10E/30E now & yes you’re right. It’s not easy to find anything larger than a D maybe DD cup especially in smaller band widths. Most brands are also too narrow in the cup for me so the underwire digs into the side of my breasts which is my biggest challenge. I’ve spent hours trying on every brand of bra & only one really fits well. Of course it’s a more expensive one ($120+++ US). Sigh!

Lol, you are right, the ones that fit always seem to be more expensive. I Tried on an old 32F yesterday, the cup fit good after getting all the "boob material" in- thanks ms.sss for the new reference, <3. A 30 will fit better. I want to wait til after PS to get new bras but I'm running out of options.

My daughter sent me a link last night to an Amazon bra in the correct band and cup size that was around $30-35. The price is interesting. Quality? who knows.

I went through three sizes of new knickers & 3 sizes of bras. Gets expensive. Yikes! My advice is to do get properly fitted for bras. You may be surprised how much the shape of your boobs change. And yes empty breast are real but I see you’re thinking of having a breast lift in the future so empty boobs won’t be a long term thing for you.

Bra sizing has been an irritating area for me. This is one of the main reasons PS (breast reduction) has been on my radar for a long time. Prior to becoming obese finding a bra in local stores was impossible because my ribcage size to cup size is not what makers/stores think is average. Stores rarely ever sold 30/32F. I had to settle for a larger band then alter the bra.

Add in the weight gain and loss (empty breast are definitely real) I'm waiting to see where I end up. Definitely need a lift.

  6. I bought a few new pieces for work once I hit onderland, but for the most part I am still shopping from my closet. I am lucky my job allows us to wear jeans these days as I had many in various sizes that I couldn't bring myself to get rid of when I was obese. High school kids can be brutal so I don't wear anything that's too ill-fitting.

If I lose any more weight I'll need to buy new clothes sooner rather than later. I'm looking forward to it.

  7. Add me to the list of cheese lovers. I told my husband just yesterday that I should cut back on cheese (a little intolerance to lactose), an hour later I made a chaffle with gouda and herbs. It was so good. My defense- gouda is easier to digest. I only do full fat cheese, but I TRY to eat it sparingly.

  8. Unreal. Heart issues are scary, good thing you are young and with what you've been through -strong. Although not everything is explainable, the doctors would need to provide me some answers or at least a plausible theory and safe guards before the next surgery.

I hope you are feeling better.

Thank you to everyone who replied to my post, all of your thoughts, comments and encouragement is great appreciated.

I lost 2lbs this week so I am hoping it continues. I am eating healthy foods and continuing with the exercise. My diet has changed radically from pre-surgery, it is quite shocking the difference (not just in terms of calories and portion sizes, but also the quality of food I eat).

I am keeping myself motivated towards my goal of IVF. Thank you all again xx

I hope your weight loss is going well. My daughter is 28 and had to go through IVF for various reasons. I think if you stick to a plan you will continue to lose as long as you need to. Bariatric surgery, is one tool for weight loss. If you continue your hard work you can do it. Good luck,

im a little over 4 years post WLS and a little over 3 yrs post plastics today.

    Goals! You look Amazing!

  11. Lindsay, I knew PS was in my future when I decided to have WLS, lol.

Thank you all for sharing these personal photos, they are so motivational to others. I recently hit the 100 lbs lost mark and I am already think about my next move. The deflated boobs and sagging arms are a lot- I do not hate it but I want to tighten up as soon as possible.

I will give it a year but I want to start my search now. I would like to be around 135-140 when I have PS. I have about 25 lbs to go which I expect to hit around 8-9 months out. I've been sticking to my plan like glue and will continue to do so until I hit the one year mark- July 6, 2024!

The lower body lift scares me so much, but it is a must. I've been combing the forum for any tips. I hate being in pain!!!! I will definitely post when going through PS.

Funny thing ---- I was all bummed out about my 3 month long stall - I even Gained 4 pounds when I saw my doc a couple days ago. I finally did something I was so scared to do ..... I took out the tape measure. I was seriously shaking when I measured myself for the first time. I lost a total of 15" since this whole program started ! I knew my clothes were loose - but 15 inches ? ! ? ! Wow ! In fact ...... I feel SO GOOD ,this is the going to be the first time in YEARS that I'm putting up a Christmas tree :) The hell with that scale LOL !!! My mental and physical health is better than it's been for years and I stopped focusing on that darn number !

Christmas is so fun. I am so glad you are focusing on the positive. You will get where you want to be with that attitude and it is contagious. Thanks for sharing.

  13. I agree with ChunkCat. Although I am past the liquid food phase, I know my relationship with Thanksgiving food has changed. I have been putting my energy into decorating the house for Christmas and will focus on spending time with family.

My daughter had a birthday two weeks after my surgery and I experienced a little anxiety but quickly saw the opportunity in it.

I hope you enjoy the day. Happy Thanksgiving.

  15. You both are doing great!!!

I was sleeved 7/6/23 as well- the recovery went well.

I do not believe my sleeve was too restrictive as I can eat small meals without discomfort. I do limit my caloric intake to under 1000 calories per day (I track) and I do not eat simple carbs. I have been eating some fruits which I am cutting back on.

I weighed in 3 days ago at 187 lbs, so I am down 43 lbs post surgery, 80 lbs since my first bariatric appointment.

I have been in the middle of stall for the last 2 weeks. Hoping it breaks soon.

The weight loss has definitely slowed, but based on reading others' experience, I am not going to worry at this point. I wanted to be at least 167 lbs by the 6 month mark, but I've lost very little in the last 4 weeks- don't think I'll make it. Anyway, the goal is what matters.

    Good luck to you all!

From what I’ve read from other people, chicken sometimes goes down a little harder. The salmon might be easier actually. It’s softer.

Although I love salmon, I'm more concerned about the richness of salmon. It's also on my day 45 and beyond list, as an oily fish. I'm planning on having my first non pureed/ mushy food on day 30 or 31. I'm trying to stick to the plan as closely as possible.

I hope I tolerate most food well, I have had not issues so far so I'm hoping for the best.

Yeah, chicken especially breast can be too dry & cause problems for many. chicken thigh is more tender (& tastier too) & can be easier to tolerate if you really want chicken. Salmon can to be too rich & oily but try poaching it in milk or stock with some fresh herbs. Otherwise any flaky white fish is good.

I can’t recall my first real meal but I think I made a chicken casserole. It had white wine in it which was a bad decision to include - it was all I could taste & was awful. I also ate a lot of beef mince dishes in the soft food stage (rissoles, bolognese sauce with zucchini noodles, etc.). Generally I was able to eat most meats without issue from when I could have the. including steak which causes problems for some.

Just make sure you have a sauce or gravy with your meat to help it go down more easily & keep it tender.

That was my thought. I always cook salmon with the skin on, it's a bit rich and oily- even without the extra butter I used to add, lol. I can remove the skin and poach it, but I'll wait.

That casserole was not giving! Thanks for the ideas, the rissoles sounds good as does adding a sauce or gravy to meats. I need to practice some healthy sauce recipes.
