Why can't you drink from a straw? I was banded in 2008 and haven't had any sodas since. Ive tried one before like a year ago and it was disgusting!!!! All I drink and all I grave is Water. But I always drink out of a straw and haven't heard that drinking out of a straw is bad. So why is it bad?

I love Champion Pure Whey protein (chocolate). It mixes up great in a bottle with ice very well and doesn't leave it all foomy after blending. And the flavor to me is the best I've found. I get it at The Vitamin Shoppe, it's kind of expensive $45 for 5lbs but it has 21g of protein per serving.

I take a daily Multivitamin that is 100% of the actual Vitamin. Unlike over the counter Vitamins, they are only 10% of the actual vitamin. It's called Usana USANA Health Sciences , they provide several different vitamins that are needed for several different conditions. These are the only Multi-Vitamins that are in the PDA (physicians drug book). These meds can be cut or crushed. I recomend this highly, as all my labs have always come back with normal vitamin levels. Unlike before, when i was taking over the counters vitamins my vitamin levels were always low. Thank you all for your advise. I have gone back on liquids and haven't vomitted yet! I am staying on liquids another day to help the swelling go down.

I was banded on 8/22/08 and had my 1st fill on 11/17 and had 2cc put in and on 11/29 had 0.5cc taken out. I had a lot of food get stuck only thing that would stay down was liquids or liquid soup. My 2nd fill was 1/19/09 and i was on liquids till 1/23, I was also able to get all my pills down fine without cutting them, and that day i had top roman and that night i had chips/salsa/mushie beans and that all went down fine. The next night i tried same thing, salsa/chips/muchie beans and they got stuck, i had to vomitt to get the pain to stop. I tried yogurt that night and it got stuck also. I tried just mushie beans and they got stuck, had to vomitt it also. Then this morning i tried swallowing a pill way smaller than a size of a #2 pencil earser and it got stuck. So today i went back on liquids. Do i need a unfill? Or should i just wait it out. I am still losing weight and able to drink water/protein.

It's me again...not PBing but i have been throwing up everything except water

I had a fill on 1/19/09 and was on liquids till 1/23 (and was able to take all my pills whole) then i tried chips and salsa, and beans dip and that all went down fine. Since then i have had everything get stuck except for liquids. I usually PBing if still stuck by 1 hour. I had my forst fill yesterday and i liquids all day yesterday. Today i tried soft food and it got stuck once it was unstuck i tried swallowing my pills and it is still stuck. Help! Does this mean i need an unfill or do i need to give my stomach swelling more time to down?

My mom has had the Gastric bypass for over 4 years now and i was just banded 8/22/08 and loving it. My mom and i have 1 favorite after trying several, even all her grandkids love it. I live near Phoenix, AZ and not been able to find a store that didn't go out of business that sells this anymore. Does anyone know a MD that does them in AZ (Mesa, Gilbert, Tempe areas) but charges insurance for something else?
