    Dumping After Erosion And Removal

Check out Swanson Health Products for their full line of supplements and Vitamins. I buy my Probiotics from them and have been successful with them. Their prices are wonderful. My nutritionist also advised me to up my Fiber intake with Citricel and naturally derived Raspberry Ketones, African Mango. and L carnitine. I am committed to not putting back on the weight that I have lost! Linda
  2. I am so relieved to read this forum. I had my band removed in January 2016. The surgeon removed part of my band through my esophagus and the port and tubing through an abdominal incision. I went back to work 6 weeks later. I found that my best success is eating "slider" foods. I have trouble swallowing and have had to vomit some foods that won't go down. My surgeon told me that the surgery that should have taken 30 minutes took over 2 hours because of difficulty in fishing the band out through my esophagus. I had attributed my swallowing issues to the length of time that it took to get the band out, but now I guess I have to retrain how to swallow successfully. Sometimes my meds get "stuck" and cause discomfort and either spitting them back up and out, or gulping them down! One thing that my surgeon told me in a post surgery follow up that concerned me greatly: He said that ALL of the patients he removed bands gained AT LEAST 50 POUNDS!!! WTH!! Can anyone discredit this? I am very concerned and dread the thought of this! Thanks and good luck to us all!
  3. I have experience with an eroded band and surgical removal. Mine was placed in September 2008 and I had to have emergency removal in January 2016, The surgeon told me that my band had eroded 60%. I had developed an infection and went to the ER in my town (one of several trips and multiple trips to my PCP which resulted in more rx's for meds to treat symptoms). I was put on antibiotics and scoped, transferred to another hospital for emergency removal of my band. Ended up being out of work for 6 weeks! Not a good experience. If you would like to communicate further about this, contact me!

  7. My suggestion is not exactly "dr ordered", but a friend of mine who had a mini gastric and came back to work very early advised me that she wrapped her midsection with an ace bandage. It works for me!
