    Hey Ho! Let's Go...get a lapband!

Okay, I went to a seminar on Saturday (didn't post anything because I was really into "Flowers in the Attic") and discussed the surgery with the 'rents today and they approve! *HAPPY DANCE* My dad was so cautious about this surgery because he doesn't see me exercise:cursing:, but when I do try to exercise, I hurt, and I never feel good and I'm always hungry afterwards. I really wish these were excuses, but it's the truth. Anywho, at the seminar they (meaning a surgeon and other people) discussed both gastric bypass and lapband. I was interested in bypass for five minutes...then they showed a video of actual sugery and I thought to myself: "Uhh, I don't like my insides being removed and lumped together where they shouldn't be." The seminar was nice, but god, people are RUDE! There were a bunch of people who raised their hands and sat patiently, but other people decided: "Yeah, let's be an ignorant ass and just shout out our questions!". *STEAM COMING FROM EARS* What was even worse was the fact that the surgeon never reprimanded these people. Like I said, it was nice, except above incident. Afterwards, I went to Half-Price Bookstore (the love of my life! ) and purchased some books and I was happy as a clam! I'm really glad I attended that seminar. I learned an awful lot more than what I thought I could. Now all I have to do, is call my dad's insurance and then, call back the hospital to schedule a consultation. QUESTIONS: 1) Has anyone had surgery at the Alexian Brothers in Elk Grove? How was it? Was the surgery good? How did they handle the insurance? 2) Does anyone live in Chicago? (Not like, "Yeah I live near Chicago." "Where?" "Springfield.") What hospitals did you go to? 3) Does anyone have Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO? How did they handle the surgery? How much did you have to pay out of pocket? How much were the copays (if any)? Shout out to Plain: Ha, Ha, Ha! Funny! Shout out to Hollie519: I totally could use a friend. Send me a message and we can chat!

    Why are YOU Fat?

So, why am I fat? I was always fat my entire life. My family's fat on my dads' side but my mom's side is normal weight. Except for her, she's obese and my dad is a tiny bit overweight, but not much. Me? I'm 230 lbs. Not good. Unfortunately, I gained a lot of weight in high school due to the fact I was picked on...severely. I was stalked, had death threats stuffed in my locker everyday, got into verbal and physical fights with these three girls. I was between 170-180lbs in high school; when I got out, I was 235. I lost and gained those 30 lbs since I was 15, about 5 times. Up, down, up, down, up...see the pattern? It also doesn't help when you are diagnosed with severe depression and two types of anxiety disorders and have to take a slew of pills to calm you down. But now, I'm down to one pill, but I still feel a little off. Not really happy or normal, but not depression or anxious either; almost like a middle ground. I need the lap band because I need to lose weight. I'm always hungry and I hate that feeling. I'm totally willing to do whatever it is, to help me lose weight. I know this is a tool and that's how I'll use it, but not as a crutch or the "end all, be all". So yeah! That is why I'm fat. Thanks for all the stories on why you're fat. It has helped me realize that more people struggle with their weight than I thought. Thanks!:crying: JRG

    Tampons or Pads.

Pads. Easier. I seem to have such a heavy period that tampons never suit me. Besides; I never felt comfortable with tampons. But that's just me!

    This is CRAP!

Hey Hollie, I feel you! I was an office manager/ accounting assistant/ administrative assistant, so I know what it's like when people don't respond to your emails or even your PHONE CALLS. If I was in your shoes, (if this happens again) go to HR and say that you have an appointment. If they ask why, just say that she doesn't respond to your emails and that it was an important appointment. If they say, basically, "Screw you", suck it up and reschedule. And when you send another email, put a flag on it (if you have Outlook). That's all I can offer. As for the age thing; I'm 19, but just because I'm young doesn't mean I have "anger issues." God, I hate when people throw that around, but what can you do, right?:crying: Hope everything works out! JRG
  6. Hi All! So, I am here because I need the lap band. Wow! Funny, how I landed out here. Anyway, I'll be going to a seminar on Saturday, to see if I can get the lap band. My current weight is 230 lbs and I am 5 feel 1 inch tall! (Yeah, I know I'm short). How I got to be this big is a huge tale (pun intended), but I'll shorten it and post it on "Why are YOU fat?" thread. Overweight my whole life, got worse when I was picked on severely in high school. I've been diginosed with severe depression and Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD). I just had a panic attack yesterday and I'm still recovering from it. *SIGH* Most of my depression comes from the fact that I am fat. I hate it and want to change it so bad. I've been on countless diets like WW, South Beach, Atkins, Blood Type diet, so on and so forth. You name it, I've tried it. And (get this) I'm only 19 years old. I need this surgery because I can't control what I eat and I always feel hungry. I recently tried the Shangri La Diet, but I got sick because of the oil and sugar Water. So, about me: I'm a college student who is pursuing philosophy and acting and I want to write about different acting styles and theaters. I love to write, act, draw, paint, play video games, sew and listen to punk music (Gabba Gabba Hey!). Feel free to say hi, I don't bite. See ya soon! JRG
