  1. First time in many years that I haven't had to think about making a New Year's resolution to go on yet another diet to "finally lose the weight". Only to fail. WLS is a game changer. 😊

  2. I don't know when I reached Onederland but just weighed myself @198. 😁

  3. Down over 100 pounds since RNY on April 4, 2023. Not exactly sure when, since I stopped weighing for a few weeks. I hit a stall and decided to stay away from the scale for a while, to avoid getting discouraged. I could still see changes in the way my clothes fit so I wasn't worried.

    It was really exciting to see the numbers today. Looking forward and close to getting into the 100s. Something I haven't seen in many years :)

  4. I don't normally weigh myself on Wednesdays, but I did my monthly Fit3D bodyfat check today. At less than 5 months post-op I have lost 80 pounds with 78 more to goal. Over halfway there. 10% Body fat gone along with 33.56 inches.

    1. New To This23

      New To This23

      Yes!! that is awesome!!!

  5. Lost 3 pounds this week. I'll take it!!!

  6. Who knew Filet Mignon would make me so sick. Leftovers from Mother's Day.  On the upside..next day I started walking outside a little over a mile without stopping or back pain. That's a bit deal for me considering how inactive I've been for years. Woot woot!

  7. Five-week follow-up for gastric bypass and now on lifetime food plan. No restrictions.  In all that time I was fortunate to get sick only one time, week 1, on Easter. Chicken broth...go figure.

  8. I may need to change my name and profile pictures. I assumed I would be struggling to drink water and protein shakes and eating tiny food portions but that's not the case. So far, no nausea. No feeling of food restriction. I guess I should be happy that I can eat comfortably with no appetite and so I'm banking on the surgery itself to do it's part changing my setpoint, metabolism, insulin resistance etc. In 10 days I will move into regular food phase. Maybe then the restriction may kick in.

  9. Today was my 2-week post op appointment and it went well. My incisions healed nicely and have minimal pain, except on the far right. Initially that worried me but was I assured the pulling sensation and stinging was normal. (A deep stich was placed there.)    Also down 13 pounds post op :)

    I was cleared to exercise more and now on soft food phase. I started today with one large egg whipped with a bit of skim milk then scrambled and topped with small amount of shredded cheese. It tasted good but no restriction or feeling of fullness.  Lunch was 1/4 cup of low-fat cottage cheese with 1 slice of a canned peach. Again, no restriction. I'm starting to wonder....

    Full liquid was understandable since it flows right through so surprised me that I felt nothing eating solid food. But....it's day one so...

  10. Less than a week before gastric bypass surgery. I'm nervous but excited. Been lurking here for a while, reading. I'm about ready as I'm going to get. Down 20 pounds in 3 months. A ton of pre op testing done and cleared. Food/drinks, chewable vitamins, protein, meds bought. On 2-week preop diet now which includes 2 protein shakes a day along with 3 ounces lean protein and 2 1/2 C.  non starchy veggies and is totally do able for me. Clear liquid day before surgery. A full sugar Gatorade night before  and again 2 hrs before arriving at the hospital. Interesting how different everyone's diets are depending on your doctor.

    I'm optimistic all will go well. Good luck to the April surgeries happening this month and to all that are going through the process.  {{hugs}}
