You sound very jaded. I'm new to lap band but I researched it well. It a trail and error eating challenge. You also have to be commited to changing you entire lifestyle. It sound like you took the easy way out.
I had the same problem but Jello pudding pops helped. And by the second or third week the doctor let me eat fish and chicken which totally thrilled me. Just because the stomach is rewired do not mean our minds are also.
That doesn't sound right. I had my first fill yesterday and I can have liquids and soft foods. If you can't get fluids down or mashed potatoes your fill may be to tight.
I am on the same path as you. I had surgery on August 14 and my sites all started draining. IT is painful and I'm sick of it. I was scheduled to have a fill today but could not due to the infection. I'm a mess but still positive. I can't wait to start loosing the weight.
Well it is a life changing experience. At first I thought I would die of hunger. Things are much better now. I went also to Dr. Wellborn's seminar. I really like Dr. Lutrell he is really great and i did not have a long wait to have my surgery. Once my insurance approved me it took only two weeks to have it done. The whole process was maybe a month or less.
I'm with you. I was banded on 8/14/08 and I'm starving. I can now finally eat food but it is a totally new experience. I'm due to have a fill tomorrow.
