  1. Hey! Dr. Lane did my surgury too. I was banded on 9/4/08. I wanted to ask you if you would consider him to be aggressive when it comes to fills or conservative? I have my first fill on 10/8/08. Also, do you know if there is a support group in Baldwin County? I live in Fairhope. Thanks, Huntley
  2. Oh My!!! If I NEVER ate chocolate again....the world would be in serious trouble. That fact that you ONLY ate ONE chocolate bar is great considering you were in a blood sugar drop and not thinking clearly. Let it go sistah ..... let it go....!!!! Peace!
  3. Hey Patty! Welcome to the group. I was banded on 9/4 so we are close together. You should ask the CT people on this website to help you find a group. Great job on the 16.5lbs. It really does make a difference in how we feel. Keep up the good work. Huntley
  4. Yes he is great. How have you been doing since?
  5. That includes the pre-op diet too. I have lost 10 since the surgery.
  6. Hey Alabama Folks! I live in Fairhope and I had my surgery Sept. 4, 2008 with Dr. Daniel Lane in Mobile. I am down 25lbs so far with about 75 more to go. It is nice to see the difference. Huntley

Well I started my 10 day pre-op diet on August 25, 2008. My banding day was September 4, 2008. My starting weight was 240 lbs on a 5'1 frame. NOT good. My knees were hurting everytime I would get near stairs. To date I have lost 25lbs. (Sept. 13). I am really ready to get off these liquids and get some food in me with substance so I can exercise better. My energy level is low due to lack of food. I have my first "adjustment" appt scheduled for October 8th. I have about one more week until pureed foods. YIPPEE!!! Life just keeps getting better.

  10. Hi! I was banded on 9/4/08 and feel pretty good. I am down 20lbs and that includes the 10 days of pre-op diet. My surgery was preformed by Dr. Daniel Lane in Mobile, Alabama. I am ready now to get moving and get the rest of my weight off!! Starting weight 240 and I am 5'1. Date today, 9/9/08 220. Only 80 more to go!!!! HJH
  11. Hey Restless, Actually I CANNOT EAT. My pre-op diet consist only of broths, sugar free Jello, SF popsicles, and any SF drinks with NO cabonation. Believe me...I am not eating. I was so proud to have eating a whole cup of jello yesterday...it took me THE ENTIRE DAY. but I did eat it!! To the rest of the gang, My gas has actually started to subside but I eat gas x and have been walking alot. I will not get any milk or cream soup, which at this point seems like a steak dinner, until 1 week post op. I have been drinking the "South Beach" powder for Water that is called "tide you over"...it has some Protein and it seems to help. I was banded 9/04/08 as well and have lost about 20lbs starting with the pre-op diet. I am so excited to have this done and cannot wait to be able to move around normally. HJH
  12. Hey! I am also newly banded, 9/4/08, and it is my understanding that you are to eat 4oz meals 3 times daily and if you need a snack then you should have a 2oz snack. That is what I have written down from meeting with the nutrionist. I hope this helps. HHuckle
