  1. Everything will work out, you just keep on doing what your doing. I went a couple of years ago and I am 300+ and I rode everything, including space mountain. It was a wonderful time, and talk about getting your exercise in. Have Fun and Good Luck
  2. I haven't had the surgery yet, I am doing the insurance's 6 month diet. But I know a lot of people that have had very successfull surgerys in Mexico. If you have any problems wouldn't your pcp be able to help you. But you going by yourself, I don't think I would do. Just my opionion, hope it helped. Good Luck
  3. I have heard a lot of rude comments all my life, but the worest ones are from family.... 1. My dad is over weight also 250ish, always tells me you would go a lot farther in life if you would just lose some weight.... People treat fat people differently. 2. My mother and I were talking about I was built like my grandmother, and my grandmother said..I've never been that fat before!!! 3. As a teenager, I was around 13 and I wasn't really over weight then, but me and my mother didn't get along very well, she asked me one time do you wash under all them rolls!!! OMG!! It's not like I dirt or stinky, she just said it to be mean!!! And of course I always get the you have such a pretty face...blah..blah...blah... The one I hate the most is someone will be talking about someone being over weight or they will call someone fatass and then look at you and say OH no offense!!! WTH!! I could go on and on, but I think I feel better now, saying all that!!!
  4. She came into the ER the police had brought her in. Because she was CRAZZZY!!
  5. I would have asked her... So what do you do for your back fat!!! Got any pointers?
  6. OMG!! People are so mean, and it does seem like its the ones that are over weight that make the rude comments. I work at a hospital and one night there was a very drunk women(CRAZY) in there and I walked into her room and she said..oh please don't sit on me you would kill me!!!!
  7. Have you had anything besides water and juice? My nurse said that sometimes the nausea your feeling is becasue you are hungery, maybe try a protein shake, yogurt, or something filling that is on your list of things you can eat, maybe that will make you feel better.I hope you feel better soon.
  8. You know there are those that just can't handle getting their blood drawn!! lol. I draw blood all the time on people and about 90% say I'm scared to death of needles and they can't even watch me. I have had a few pass out on me. Your electrolytes may be out of whack because you may be dehydrated a little or you may be anemic or you may have just passed out due to them drawning your blood! lol Good Luck!!
  9. Yea, I agree with trj, it sounds like your not getting enough food. You don't eat enough and your body will think it is starving and it will store fat. I know it sounds silly but maybe you need to eat more, start with protien and then vegs and fruits. The protien will help you stay full longer. Talk to your doctor. Good Luck:thumbup:

    So Many Questions

It all depends on you, on which surgery you want, both are WLS that will get the same result in the end. You can be more than 100lbs over weight and the lap band will still work for you, it is just a slower pace than the other, RNY. With the gastric-bypass you can have more complications. My doctor told us in his seminar that between the two, Lap Band and RNY you would have lost about the same amount of weight in 3-5 years. They even out, yes you will lose weight very quickly with the RNY, it takes a little longer with lap band. It should be up to you on which surgery you want, your paying for it!! Good Luck

    Six Month Diet Question

I am in the process of doing my 6 month visits. It is required by my insurance. What it is, is that you have to show a 6 consective months of doctor supervised visits. You can ask your personal pcp, or NP, or the doctor that is doing your surgery, they usually have a 6 mth program. My doctor told me it's really not if you lose weight or not, it's to show the insurance that you can, or have tried to lose the weight, and can stick with something for 6 consective months. Good Luck

    A Lot to Loose

You have lost weight, so any weight lost is a good thing. You could also try water arobics, it's not so hard on your body. Good luck and keep up the good work.
  14. I like everyone here I'm very sorry about your siuation. I know it can be very stressfull right now, and with three babies, it's even harder. This is your decision to make only you know who much you can handle. I was married for 9 years and only have one child, but my husband cheated on me right after I had our daughter, I mean I still had staples in my stomach from the c-section!!! Men don't think peroid! Only live in the moment, and think about the conseqences later. I want you to know I am very very happly divorced. It was the best thing I have ever done for myself. I'm not saying get a divorce it's your decision, but my daughter and myself are a lot better off, he wasn't much of a father before and still not much of one now. He loves his daughter, but most men do get it!! I haven't been banded yet, but I have to do the 6 month also and everything else, knowing that I have done so much I wouldn't want to not do it. Everything you have put in this doesn't need to go to waste. It's time to think of yourself, and your kids. Be better for them!!

    Getting Ready

Wow, I was just wondering about asthma and being obese. Does obesity have anything to do with asthma? I have alway been active in school and even now, just not like I should anymore, but have started resently having problems with asthma, I think it's asthma any way. I have never had asthma before now, I just want to be really active again and hope this doesn't interfear, after I have the surgery. I will be having the surgery somewhere aroung March(hopefully, if aproved). I feel like ever since I deceided to get the wls everything is going wrong with me!!:bolt: I am ready for the new me!!!

Long and slender or tiny and powerful?

YES THE BULLET ROCKS!!!! I have to buy them about once every couple of months though. Guess I'm a little hard on them :rolleyes2:! I thought I would have a problem introducing toys in my relationship with soon to be DH, but once I did, he uses it as much as I do!!! BULLETS ROCK!!!!
  18. Does or did anyone have to take a TSH test before with your blood work? My question is what if your TSH is high? Will they still do the surgery, or is it to get it under control? I had some lab work done last year and everything was fine, but just recently I had a TSH done, by request of the lap band doctor, and it was high. It has never been high before, and I have been over weight for over 15 years or more!!!!!

    Soda soda soda

I have always been able to stop drinking sodas when I want to, but when the doctor tells you no more it makes the cravings 10 times worst.
  22. Hello everyone I am new to the site, and I am on my journey to a new life. Thats what it is right? It would be so much easier if I would have taken care of myself a long time ago. I haven't always been this heavy, I played sports in high school, love them, still do, just can't do much with all this weight I have gain in the last 17 years! WOW, I have been out of school for a while, it kind of sneaks up on you, kind of like all the weight!!! I am scheduled for my 1st visit and seminar on 9-10-08, and I know that I have to do the 6 month visits. So I will not be getting banded until March or later! I wish it was now!!

    Greetings from texas

Thank you all for making me feel so welcomed. I will be banded in Tyler; Dr. Babineau; I have to use him and ETMC, thats who my insurance is through, I work for ETMC. So I have to go with who my insurance will pay for, but I have heard a lot of good things about him. I know of about 3 people that work at my hospital who have used him, but they had a by-pass done, and one is getting ready to get her lap band done with him. I am sooooo ready to start my new life, to enjoy life again. I have a 8 year old and she is into all kinds of sports and I so want to get out there with her, but this weight is to much. I need to lose about 150-170. I think anyway. I'm ready to be noticed again, and to be there for my daughter, I want to make her happy too!!!

    Anyone in East Texas

Hello, My name is Joanna and I live in Gilmer, TX ; I am having my surgery done in Tyler; by Dr. Babineau. Because of my insurance I have to use ETMC. I work for ETMC. I don't have a date yet, somewhere around March or later, I have to do the 6 months of nutritional counseling. Has anyone used him? I know of a few that have had the by-pass though him but not the lap band.
