  1. Hey there. Good to hear from you. Sounds like your doing great. 30 bux a month for curves huh. I had thought about joining curves too there's one not to far from my house. Well keep up the good work and keep me posted.

  2. I felt a little sore in the tummy muscles only for about 4 days. My back hurt if I sat to long. The gas went away the more I walked. Bending was uncomfortable for about 2.5 weeks. I stopped taking my meds after about 4 days unless I over did myself. You get your rest and take it easy girl don't push yourself to much.

    Take care, Teresa

  3. The gas gets better I promise. I'm on pureed foods and some soft foods. I am never hungry, ever. I have to set my a clock to remind myself to eat every 3 hours. I've lost 23 lbs since the day of surgery, 33 since pre-op diet and 53 since the start of this journey. I feel really good. Have great energy most of the time. Scars are healed, just look like little cat scratches. I tend to over do myself because I feel good, I have to keep reminding myself the I'm only less then a month out. I'm glad you're feeling better. Each day gets easier. Keep walking and the gas will be gone before you know it.

  4. Hello, I'm glad your doing better now and at home recovering. I'm sorry that you had that experience during your surgery and afterward. It sounds like your feeling a little better. Stay on top of those meds take them every four hours like it says to miss a dose or you'll feel it. It will get better each day and before you know it you'll be a whole new you. Take of yourself and keep in touch. Teresa

  5. Hey there Laurie. I'm not sure what time your surgery is set for today. I want to send my thoughts and prayers with you. Let me know how your doing when you feel up to it. Welcome to the loser's bench.

  6. Hello. Good to hear from you. You go girl 2lbs a day huh, that fabulous! Enjoy that 4oz of meat and veggies while you can. Wow can you believe how close you are getting to your date. I remember talking about being in the 6mo diet phase. Time sure has flown. Keep up the good work. I'm not feeling to tired anymore. I actually feel pretty darn good. I stalled for a couple of days but now I'm down 14lbs. So, so far so good. I go in for my 2wk appt on the 18th. So we'll see how it all goes from there. Talk to ya soon. Teresa

  7. Hi there, thanks for checking on me that's so thoughtful of you. I'm doing really well. Everything is going down just fine and staying down. I can't take much before I feel full though. I have notice each day it takes a little more to fill me up. I have lost 12 lbs since the day of surgery and 44 since I started all of this almost a year ago. Get a little tired at times but that's expected this early out.

How are you? Any new happenings for you going on? Getting closer to surgery day. Keep me posted.

    Teresa

  8. Oh my goodness I am so excited for you, you finally got your date. only 20 days and those days will fly by.

My surgery went well and my recovery is also going well. Everything in going in and staying down. I'm the full liquid diet until my post op appt on the 18th.

The biggest thing that hurt was the gas when I woke up and I had a drain in which wasn't really painful but uncomfortable. They sent me home yesterday and so far so good.

Well congrats on your date and will talk to you soon.

    Teresa

  9. Hi there nice to hear from you. I hope all went well with the lab results.

My surgery went well. The pain from the gas was almost unbearable when I woke up but got through it. The next day was much easier as are all the days that have followed.

Everything is going down and staying down pretty good.

You take care of yourself and keep in touch.

    Teresa

  10. Hi there,. Thanks for thinking of me. I did horrible on the liquid diet. It sucked for me. I fought head hunger the whole time. I was supposed to do the week just before the surgery with 4 shakes a day and all the cucumber I'd like. But never really lost weight. So I was supposed to be 254 by now but am 265. So let's just pray I did good enough. I'll let you know how it all turns out.

How are you doing? Any news yet?

    Sideview on 02-22-2009 @ 170lbs (total loss 35lbs)

Girl looks like you have always carried your weight well. You must have a lot of muscle because you look more like 140 here than 170.

    Me, before surgery.

You are stunning. You remind me of my sister.
  14. I have heard many success stories and some complications due to the being banded. My question is do any of you regret your decision and if so why? Thanks for sharing.
  15. Hello everyone. I want to thank all of you for answering my question and sharing your personal experiences. I started my weight loss surgery journey with my heart completely leading me to get the band. When I went in for my first consultation with the surgeon, he recommended the RNY for me considering my co-morbidities and family history. He told me that he would still do the band if I chose but felt that I would be more successful with the RNY. So I am scheduled to have that surgery done on March 3. I have finally shared this information with people that I had not shared with up to now. To my amazement a few had several questions regarding WLS. I have shared my knowledge from what I learned during my Quest. I have researched all of the surgeries endlessly, but I felt the need to give my interested friends first hand information from people who have actually experienced the band. You are all very inpirational. It is so good to hear that many of you have found life again and are living it rather than just watching it pass you by. I am looking forward to living again too. I pray that all of you have many years of success and new found happiness with your bands. For those of you who are experiencing stalls or complications I pray that you find resolve and you are able to move forward full force. My friends will be relieved to hear that most of you don't regret the band at all. Since the band is the route to weight loss they have chosen. Bless all of you and Thanks again. Teresa
  16. Hi there. I thought I'd stop by and check in on you. How is everything going for you and your band? Have you been able to stay away from the colds going around? So how many pounds have you lost to date? I am always so excited to hear about your progress. I hope all is well for you.

Well enjoy the nice weather we've been having and keep me posted on your journey. Take care

    Teresa

  17. Wow you are getting sooooo close. Hiatal hernia too huh. You should be hearing from them soon to get your date. How exciting!

Liquid diet is hard for me because I have a lot of head hunger, but I am beating it. I am frustrated though because so far I have only lost 4 lbs since I started down to 269. But I think that is due to weight lifting too. Next week I start on nothing but liquids so that should be interesting.

I am so stressed out right now because I have a cold. I am scheduled to see my pcp on Monday and hopefully he has a miracle cure so that I will be able to have my surgery as planed well wish me luck.

I am so excited for you. Take plenty of vitamins and stay away from sick people. Keep me posted.

    Teresa

  18. Hi there Laurie I was just wondering if you heard anything back from Alta Bates yet.

I started my 2 week diet today: I'm starving already lol. I'll get through this though I have to.

Well let me know how everything is going for you, talk soon.

    Teresa

My best friends new baby !

Great Job! You look so much younger and happier. Keep up the great work.
  20. Hiya Laurie, it is no problem at all. I am waiting right along with you. I know what it's like to hurry up and wait. It's nerve racking. I just thought it'd be a little easier for you to kinda know what to expect. I am so glad that Terry did that for me too. It is very important that we are here for each other. I know we have our family and friends as support but there's nothing like having someone who is actually going through it at the same center to be by your side.

Let me know when you hear something.

    Teresa

  21. I saw the dr for my first consultation on 12/22 then had to wait thru the holidays and had my tests scheduled for 1/16. So you shouldn't have to wait to long since you have no holidays to hold them up. You'll probably hear from them in the beginning of next week then have the tests done soon after that. I waited a week after the tests before I heard anything back from the office. But I know tquad64 said she had it all over and done within a few days. So It definitely won't be to long. Wow it's coming up. Hooray. Hang in there you'll be there before you know it. Teresa

  22. Hi there. Just checking in to see how your visit went today. Hope all is well, keep me posted. Teresa

  24. Hiya Terry, I just wanted to let you know that you were right, DeAngela from Dr. U's office called and gave me a surgery date of March 3. I am so excited. She said she will call me back to schedule my pre-op appointments with me. So here I go, I'm getting closer. I still haven't lost my recommended weight loss of 25 lbs. I just can't stay focussed and stick to the diet. Ok talk soon. take care Teresa
