£@h - how are you doing? I so wish i could talk to you in person. Lets be lar about something - we have all gone through a major life change that out bodies and minds might take a little time to catch up with and get used to. Our surgery is not a cure - rather it is a tool to support our decision to become healthier. What it is not is another tool with which to beat ourselves up with. I think sometimes and depending upon the circumstances, we sometimes distort the meaning of strength. I think preparing food, resisting the temptation in whatever form, becoming tearful and recovering from that shows great strength from someone who is battling the disease of obesity. We have had a longstanding relationship with food, albeit one that is dysfunctional. The food we trusted in a complex way because it was always available for us when 'needed' it to manage an emotion or whatever else. We now have something new (our surgery) to support us but it may take some of us a little time to wholly trust in and work with our new surgery and depend upon it like we could our food. It is perhaps true to say that we may all experience blips in the road on this journey. You demonstrated great strength in resisting, carrying on and sharing your experience. You got this honey, and at the times you don't - we are here to lift you. Stay with it my friend and thanks for sharing xxx

Apple cider vinegar could aggravate any acid reflux you may have in addition to being ineffective for what you're trying to accomplish. Most of what affects "saggy" skin is going to be time, you age and your genetics.
Honestly, the saggy skin can be a point of pride. You accomplished something big and you have the battle scars to prove it.

First of all, congrats on your success so far! That's GREAT!
However, Apple Cider Vinegar will have no impact to how or where you lose weight, the elasticity of your skin, or make any other material impacts to your loss or body. It might be helpful for digestion or other things, but it truly will not add anything to your weight loss efforts.
As for weight lifting, most surgeons have a recommended waiting period before working out again, so you need to check with your doctors. Weight lifting WILL help in myriad ways and it CAN help reduce saggy skin by filling it with muscle, but it won't change the skin itself.
The reality is, lose skin is a byproduct of major weight loss. It will happen. The extent of it will vary widely from person to person for a million different reasons. There is very little with any scientific support to be done about it, and most of the recmondtations you might get will be anecdotal at best. Hit your Protein, drink your Water, lift weights, and be patient. Whatever lose skin you may have will NEVER be more detrimental than not having changed your life.

So, I need to share a win:
Going on a 2 week trip to Italy in 3 weeks. Need to buy some new clothes to wear on the trip and my wife had a $30 cash thing from Old Navy. We go last night and I am trying to find some shorts that are "tight" on me with some elastic, so that they will still fit well in 3 weeks when I am ~15 pounds lighter. I put on a pair of XL shorts that I think fit well. I know Old Navy stuff runs pretty big, but I was VERY happy that I could shop in a regular store (not a big and tall). That happiness doubled when my wife saw the shorts and said "Those look too baggy, let me go grab a large and see how those look". They looked awesome! So I am now the PROUD owner of 2 large pairs of old navy shorts

Good luck tomorrow!! I won’t know when I go tomorrow until this afternoon. I don’t know why they wait so last minute, that’s another thing bothering me is I don’t even know my surgery time. I’m hoping morning so I can just get this over with!

I’m tomorrow too! I feel my heart racing! I tell myself that I can do this. I guess we are worrying too much about the pain. Good surgery results are coming our way. We will both be fine. God is good! My surgery is at 2:15 pm. What about you! I keep thinking about the Bible verse that says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Phillipians 4:11

I felt (feel) the same way. I'm lucky in that I only have 8 days of liquid before surgery (I'm scheduled for this Friday). I've found a few things helpful in getting through this liquid diet:
Stay busy with non-food things. I went to work, cleaned our bathrooms, did outside yard work, went shopping / window browsing... Make a schedule of your liquids for the day. Like 8am: coffee with Protein Shake, 9am flavored water, 10am sugar free jell-o, 11am broth, etc.... It helps me to have "something" to look forward to and ensure I am drinking enough. If you have a family that you typically cook for, ask for help from someone else to do the cooking, or have easy foods. My kids ate some easy convenience food this week; the less time I am in the kitchen, the better. Constantly sip on something. Chew gum if you can. I have found these to be good distractions at times. A lot of people say this is the hardest part of this whole thing. Not sure if that's true, but literally trying to avoid the kitchen and food as much as possible has helped me. I know that is not always possible for everyone, but if it is, I'd say to just avoid and know that this is NOT forever! Good luck

Hi guys - I think unread that some of you are on a liquid following your surgery. I will be on a very soft puréed Protein rich diet following surgery (almost watery so it slide through a fork. Im going to spend some of the day making my meals and dividing them up. We also have to include fruit and veg prepared in the same puréed way x

As I was saying this journey is individual to each of us. Many are experiencing Protein burnout, being waterlogged and other temporary bumps and snags. We are not trying to discourage or scare you, it may not happen to you. If it does it let’s you know, you are not alone, and this too shall pass. Best wishes on your journey and thanks for joining us.

I had my surgery yesterday May 19th. All went well and I was home by 3ish. I’ve had that dreadful chest pain and my incision are sore but so far so good. I drink a sip or 2 of Premier clear at the top of the hour and Water every 15 minutes. Every 4 hours I take 2 sips of Hydrocodone for pain. I’ve been up walking around the house and have on compression socks. I’m not hungry but I am thirsty and scared to drink more than 2 ounces at a time.

So ready for this chest pain to go away.

Ok so I’m not a sweets person but every once in a while I do want ice cream. So I mixed Premier Protein Cookies and cream and instant Sugar Free Chocolate pudding and added a scoop of vanilla Protein Powder. Blended and refrigerated it in 2 ounce containers. Omg. I ate one. I know that’s not much but it was good enough for me. So good guys.
