  1. Hello - I need some help and I cant get in to see the doc.

I had surgery 6 weeks ago (no fill yet).

I'm having problems with pain around my port area. I still cant sleep on my side or tummy yet and any pressure on my port area really hurts.

After I eat my 1/2 cup of food It feels like my port is pushing up against my skin and ready to pop out of me at any minute and it really hurts. I tried eating slow or not eating as much at one time. But still the same problem with my port pushing up against my skin.

Has this happened to anyone else? Is this normal in the beginning with some people? I know everyone's different but it hurts. :) OUCH!

I had gas pains in the beginning but not for a long time now. Do you think I'm getting gas pain again immediately after I eat?

Thank you all for any support.

  2. Hello - I have been taking Zoloft daily for years due to my anxiety issues. I also have a prescription for xanax if I ever am having a really really bad day! - I just got banded march09 and I'm doing great. I have not had any need of the Xanax but I always take my Zoloft daily and it keeps me even and very stable. I think being on the drug may have caused me to gain weight thru the years! So if your doctor thinks you don't need to be on it anymore that's great!

best of luck with your band!

  3. Hi - Hope you feel better today - and oh the PAIN the first few days for some can be really bad. I also was in a lot of pain but by day five was feeling much better.

the first three day after surgery all I did was sleep and have ice chips and sugar free popsiciles. That really helped my dry mouth and throat. I also made sure to take my pain meds every four hours. If you have gas pain in your tummy or shoulders/back you need to walk around the house to release some of it. You will start to feel better each day.

Congratulations on your surgery!! I'm so happy for you.

  4. Hello - I was in a lot of pain - Gas was really bad in my tummy however it never made it up to my shoulders. I was in so much pain the first 5 days I was just a big mess!!

On day 6 I felt a bit better and on day 9 I was over the gas pains and my port area hardly hurt at all. I'm now on day 12 and am well enough to go back to work and drive the car, walk the dog, clean the house.... So I'm feeling pretty good right now.

Everybody is different just remember each day gets better!

  5. Hello - for #1 Do what your doctor says! I know this is really hard because I'm in the same boat as you. I had my surgery on 3/23 I have to be on the clear liquid diet for two weeks and It is by far the hardest part I have gone thru. My head hunger is out of control. TV food commercials are the worst right now. However I have been told it gets better each day.

My Doc warned me that I need to heal and not stretch out my smaller stomach or the band can slip.

    That scared me straight!!

So I will wait until I get my doc's ok to move on to the next diet. But Ohhhhhh I cant wait!!!
