  1. I won't be at the Point West meeting on the 27th as I am heading to LA in the rv that morning and then on to Phoenix. I will have my laptop with me so I will stay in touch.

Chrissy - please read the good things about the band too - the people who have had problems with their bands and needed revisions are a very tiny number compared to those who have not had any problems and there have been more bands done than sleeves at this point. Not trying to dissuade you from getting the sleeve - it is a personal choice - but it is not foolproof either.

Has anyone talked to a person who has a sleeve that is a year out from surgery? Does it still have the same effects further out? I am not looking to revise, just curious.

Yes - my co-worker had the sleeve done march09 and I did the band march09 - We are both doing great. both the band and the sleeve are still working great for both of us. We both still just have just a few more pounds to lose however both the band and sleeve are very different. she can eat somethings I cant and I can eat things she cant.

  2. Yes, I know what you are talking about the good food is hard for me to get down sometimes. But the bad foods just slides right down no problem. my band is tight and I get so tired of PBing all the time that I eat not so good food just to enjoy by dinner without PBing. Do you know what I mean?? Some days I can eat chicken just fine but other days no-way will it stay down. Im still really happy about my weight loss so far and really happy I got the band.

Im wishing you the very best!

  3. Oh yes! I have been in your shoes. I would say things started to get much better for me around the 6 month mark. I now have a much better understanding on what foods work for me and what do not.

Wow! This has been hard work and giving up certain foods and only able to get a few bites at the diner table is hard when it tastes so good. But that's ok because I have weight to lose and it is coming off sometimes fast sometimes very slow but its working and now at 8 months with the band I'm having a wonderful time shopping for smaller outfits.

I'm at 6CC's now and yes it is tight.

Best of everything to you and keep your eye on the prize. You are worth it.

  4. Very cool July 29th right around the corner. YAY!!!!

I hear ya on the friends and family thing about way not just lose weight the natural way. It all has to do with Maintaining the weight loss. That's how the band is going to help me. I didn't want to do the yo-yo up down thing loss 30 pounds than gain back 40 months later. My family didn't understand in the beginning but know they do and are supporting me.

Oh I can hang with the Aries crowd because Aries is my rising sign. I'm a Capricorn by day and an Aries by night. So shoot away.

  5. I hit 7-11 with the kids. It was hot and they wanted to get their snack on..and so did I.

Depression kicked in after I scanned the drink selections. Nothing that is both sugar-free and non carbinated. I felt discriminated against! There was some Fat-free for the suckers that think Fat makes you fat (opposed to calories)... not nodda sugar free.

THEN...and I had to re-read it 2 or 3 times...I saw one of the choices on the slurrpy machine was sugar-free Crystall Light Slurrpies!

It was amazing and the highlight of my day! Not only did I find something at 7-11 but it was wonderful.

    going back today.

That's so Awesome!!!! :bored: Im going to my 7-11 to see if we have it too.

    Thanks for the info.
