  1. I just had a fill Tuesday and was told that slower the fills the better. It gives you time to adjust. this was my 3rd fill I was banded back in August. lost 84 lbs so far. good luck and be patient your Sweet spot will happen soon.
  2. I would hope that everyone would get their hard earned $ back as the seminar was cancelled not just because the person couldn't go...... The right thing to do is to return the money...... I am commenting because I got the thread to this and feel that Cher should make sure everyone gets their money back.... Good luck!

    Keeping it a secret?

Now that it has been some time since my surgery... I told everyone and their brother what I did....I now just say, when asked if I have lost weight.... Yes I did and it is a daily struggle to continue...... that is all they need to know at this point. To some closer friends I say medical intervention is a great thing!!! and they just laugh as I do too.
  4. Anxious is what you will certainly feel.... read up on this drug regarding long term usage.... and I wish you the best of luck and take care! angcal26
  5. I too took Phen fen and loved it but with my band I feel like i am in control and not a drug!! Lost 74 lbs since August and feel great!! All the best to you!!!
  6. ZI just want to add that the people that made you feel "invisable" are people that you don't want around you anyway. If they are shallow now they will be shallow later. and you shouldn't give them the time of day when you shed your outer layer and show what a beautiful person you really are. So make friends now and if they love you know they will love you later. Good luck and remember you are worth this and enjoy your journey!!!!! Be healthy, and always listen to your docs, follow the steps and you will be successful! All the best, Always, angcal26
  7. Check with your Doctor some require longer out of work stay because of lifting. My doctor said no lifting over 10 lbs for 5-6 weeks. I am a secretary so I went back to work in one week wich I could have taken longer. Ask your doctor and follow what he recommends and be honest about how much you lift. Good Luck.

Hey you have taken a big step and I wish you all the success in the world. For most of us it's not what we eat it's how much. This surgery helps control the size of food so you can control your size  I have made taco's there are ways you can do that lo salt and lo fat or even ff. get yourself some healthy cookbooks even lap band cookbooks out there Good luck if you need any one to talk to just private message me. Banded August 27, 2008 lost 68 lbs so far feeling great!!! Banded in Pa 5cc's in my band saw doc today no fill he said I am doing great! Very excited
  9. In the beginning I ate ice pops they were my best friend. unjury Protein chicken broth You can find it online. sugar free and fat free broths and juices for the clear days. try to take a liquid Vitamin too. For the full liquids protien shakes you have to find one you like, greek yogurt the best is FAGE I think it has sugar but lots of protien you can even find it plain and it tastes great. Try it! Tomato soup was awesome! Then I moved on to egg beaters, tofu with seasoning hard boiled eggs just chew it small and it will fill you up. FF cream soups skim milk and soy milk vanilla and chocolate in my shakes too. a food processor is a great friend or a really good blender. Fat free refried Beans are good too. I processed everything, ham tuna, chicken, pork, with some veges in it. yams... I guess you get the picture. Good luck on your journey and chew chew chew and walk walk walk. drink your Water and follow what your doc says to a T. Take Care, Angcal26

For my 1st bandiversary i got hubby to take a photo

Hey Cav: Haven't heard from you in a while I guess you have been busy as well as I. I see your picture which is awesome!!! You are a different person. I have lost 68 so far and have to get myself motivated to work out but it has been really cold here in New Jersey that I just want to try and stay warm which seems to be harded since I lost weight. I hope you enjoyed the holidays and drop me a line every once in a while to keep updated. Take care, and I hope to hear from you soon. All the best, Always, Andrea
  12. My experience was just about the same as above. But I will give you insight to my mental state. I was extremely calm until I got in the car to go to the hospital. My husband and daughter were with me. I cried and thought why am I crying I am going to be fine, better in fact and will be healthier in the long run. So when I was lying on the "cart" to go in I thought I could just get up and walk out of here if I wanted. But I just sat there and breathed in and out and talked to the very nice nurses and they helped relieve my anxieties. So I was banded on August 27, 2008. My recovery was quick and easy. walking and gas x strips helped. I felt good the day after and tried to do too much and then felt like crap after that. So just remember to take it easy the first 5-7 days. Anyway, you must make "friends" with your band and come to the conclusion that you need this for your health. Also, my family doc helped me relieve anxieties with a prescription , i only took 2 halves and was able to sleep through the night and as time passed I felt better mentally and phsyically. Listen to your docs and follow every instruction they advise to you because they know best they have many many patients that have had this procedure and they know what you should be doing. I wish you all the very best of luck with your band. Keep in touch and let me now if you have any questions. I have lost 68 lbs so far and hope to lose 100 more. All the best always, Angcal26
  13. Hey I just wanted to add my 2 cents. I was banded on August 27, 2008. I had anxiety in the hospital waiting to go in where I thought I would just get up and leave. I decided to stay and let the Docs and God and myself succeed!!! I have lost 68 lbs so far and feel really great. i went from a size bigger than a 26 they were tight to a 18-20 now. I love this band whom I so lovingly named "Miss Molly" my alter ego. I had support of my family, friends, fellow banders here on this website and of course my docs to help me sort through my feelings of anxiety. I had a prescription for Xanax filled and took 2 halves and haven't taken anything since the last time which was months ago. I realized that this band is a tool just like a pace maker and it will help me live a healthier happier life. My family loves me and wants me to be around along time. SO, Anxiety, yes we all have it, some can deal with it and get over it and some need help. I always thought I could handle it, but I really needed help the first few weeks after surgery to mentally feel stronger. Now I feel great mentally and physically. you will too. Keep your head up and remember you can do this!!! You deserve it!! All the best, Always, Andrea
  14. Sorry to hear about your loss. I was sore, just listen to your body and don't forget to follow the rules. Drink what you can and get you vitamins in you may be sore still and tired but by next week or so you will feel 100 % better. Good luck!!!
  15. Hey, sounds like fun in Las Vegas, i keep telling my hubby I want to go. The holidays were kinda hard for me I did have a few cookies and eat too much and got sick for the first time. I through up and spit mucus (I know gross!!!!!!!) out for a while but once i through up I felt better. just remember to eat slow and watch how much. But so far I am good I had a fill 2 wks before xmas and am due to go back on the 20th. I went shopping and bought a bunch of new clothes size 18-20 I was SOOOOOO excited about that and hopefully I will get down to an 9-10 or so. I have been lazy and not exersizing and am sure I will catch crap for that when I go back to my doc, but I can't wait till the summer time so I can be outside and exersize. So keep me in touch and have a great trip.

    Happy New Year!!

    Andrea :)

  16. Hey first stop eating and drinking together wait 1/2 hour at least in between and if you are real thirsty take a very small sip. How big is your band 10cc's??? Don't fret too much I am sure you will be fine. Let me know how your fill goes. Angcal26
  17. Hi Ro: Whats been going on??? It's been kinda quiet on the talk site lately so just shoot me a message and let me know how you are doing. I am 60 down so far and am filled at 5cc's It feels great. Andrea

  18. Hi Kim:

Haven't heard from you and thought I would reach out and see how you are doing? Give me an update. I am still doing well lost about 60 now and hope to get through the holidays successfully. Hope to hear from you soon. Andrea

  19. Hey don't give up you are still new to this and you will reach that sweet spot. Just try to take your mind off the band and eating for a while you will succeed!! I was banded in the end of AUgust I lost alot of weight since then but last month i was watching the scale every morning and wasnt moving and you CANNOT do that. Weigh yourself once a week or every 2 weeks. keep following what the docs and nutritionist tells you, try support group meetings and exersize, just walk if you must. you will start working through this rough spot. I have lost 60 lbs and at 5cc in a 10cc band. my doc said that should be a good spot and I am to call him in 2 weeks and let him know how I feel. I weighed myself this morning and slipped past 250 I cannot remember the last time I was there. Anyway, keep me posted on your progress and do not give up your hope. Disregard what others may say, they have no idea what you are going through. Just ignore them. Take Care, Angcal26
  20. Well I want to say congrats you are on your way. Just remember to follow ALL the instructions the docs give you to a tee. I bought lots and lots of Jello, sugar free Crystal light (although I didn't like that at all); Any Fat free broths I could find. then when you trasnition to full, I used Protein shakes and yogurt, cottage cheese, applesauce, blended and pureed I stuck what ever I made for my family minus the carb foods in a blender with ff gravys, tuna, chicken w/ff mayo. shrimp with ff mayo.stuff like that. just try to drink as much H2O as possible and take your Vitamins religiously! Stay focused. the first week you may worry alot about what you did but when you heal you will feel better about your decision and start to look great too. It is all good!!! If you want to chat PM me and I will be of assistance as much as possible Take Care and good luck with the surgery and recovery!!! Angcal26 Banded August 27 lost 56 lbs so far!! one fill 2.5 ccs next fill Dec. 17.

    Is this normal?

Congrats on the band. First: don't weigh yourself every morning, second: walk walk walk, and third: make sure you are drinking all you can of Water. You WILL lose just give it time to heal. I wish you all the luck and hope you feel better as time goes on. Take Care, ANgcal26
  23. Hi Michaele:

Did anyone get back to you about meeting up? And also, how is your house, you said you had a fire?

I would be able to meet during the week but not Tuesdays, Sat and Sun. will be hard but I will try to fit it in. Xmas parties galore this year, funny we didn't have many to go to inthe last 20 years we were married now we have too many to get to. Anyway the 10th, 17th, 20th and 26th is not good. If we can't get together before then maybe in January? Let me know OK. Take Care, Andrea

    diet pills and the band

My view is that you should try your hardest to not take diet pills, stay natural, and talk to your doc about your hunger. I am hungry the week before my monthly friend (sorry guys) and do my best to not overeat. Just remember why you are where you are and how great you look and feel when you step on the scale and lose weight. Good Luck and just say "NO" to diet pills "Die"t pills that word isn't even good. Take Care, Angcal26:thumbup:
