Ive been wondering about this. Ive just gotten banded and Ive been burping like crazy! My husband and I have been talking about it hoping its a phase.

Im really hoping to get to know you all better. It just hit me, my life is going to change.. everything is going to change. Im only 24 years old and Ive hid behind my weight for so long so now I have to find out who I am! lol

Im home! I feel great. Im so glad things went well and everything will be uphill from here. I hadnt posted much because I was still unsure until very recently. I was really scared of the surgery but it went great and Im already home. I left town at 9 for a 2 hour ride and I was released at 4:45. Im so happy! I have a realize band.

I am! And of course very nervous.. guess thats why Im up at 1:30 am. lol

Right now Im keeping it a secret but I do plan to be very open about it post op. I just dont want to tell everyone and have something happen then have to explain it all. Right now only my mom & dad and a friend know and of course my husband. Im planning to tell my aunt tomorrow because I will need her help since I have two small children at home and shes always my go to person.

The day before I started my pre-op diet I had my favorite Chinese food for lunch and my FAV meal (steak & a baked potato) for dinner. Funny thing is Im not craving the steak but Im craving my dinner salad! lol

My "eval" was a bubble sheet with 165 questions that was mailed off. I didnt think much about it but Im shocked at some of the responses here about how long and detailed theirs were.

This is something I worry about. Ive been with my husband for 7 years, we have two children. I weigh about 80lbs more now than I did when we met. Hes great and supportive but I still worry. Hes super skinny. I weigh double what he does!

My surgery will cost $13,600 (self pay) including fills.

My Doctor told me if I was using the pill or shot I would have to stop but I have an IUD so I have nothing to worry about.

My Pre-op diet is scheduled to start on Thanksgiving. 3-4 Optifast shakes a day plus a lean meat and veggie for dinner. Liquids two days before surgery.

Just got "the call" from the Dr's office... my date will be December the 11th. I start the 2 week liquid diet the day after Thanksgiving... so my "last meal" will be turkey (gobble gobble)

I got my call today too and my date is also the 11th. Ive kind of been zombie like today. My info says I have to start my special diet the day of Thanksgiving but Im going to ask about that.

Ive scheduled my first consultantion. Im from the Houma area. If the support group is for pre-banders too I may visit.

I amf rom Houma, and I had Fredrick Rau do my surgery. I was banded on April 14 2008 so right now I am starting my solid foods..I will be at the meeting on wednesday, at least I hope..Before the surgery I lost 16 pounds, so I am really wondering how much I weigh now since my surgery..I was a self pay cause BCBS don't cover it..Hope to meet new people and get advices from them..Take care !
