  1. ok here is my update, I have an appt with the surgeon on April 12 and then after I will have the cortisone shoots into both hips. Then I hope to wait the 3 mos to get the surgery on the left hip. Or after the appt with the doctor I may just get scheduled for replacement. I was trying to get past june of this year because I have a family vacation that we go on every year and don't want to disappoint any one with me not going. Its just to a cabin on a lake so there is very little movement for me except sitting in a chair on the deck. yes I go to the pool 2 times a week, but I normally just go sit in the hot tub. But I really should just walk in the Water. That does seem to be ok. I wimp out because I say the water is too cold and I have zero energy for anything these days. thank you all for responding to my post I would like to keep in contact so I can ask questions to "people who have been there"
  2. i am going to contact the surgeons office again today and ask about cortisone shots. Hopefully this will push me past my vacation in June, Then I am going to have to take time off without pay to have the hip replaced. firs I need to get him to say yes we have done everything prior to a hip replacement. its just so frustrating not to exercise to help get the weight off. I am trying to stick to a 800-1000 calorie day meal plan but the weight just does not want to come off.
  3. wow, this is just what I wanted to hear. I am only 51 and my surgeon is putting me through everything prior to doing the total hip replacement surgery. I had asked for another injection of cortisone to see if that helps and get me past my vacation in June. Its really hard to loose the weight since I am not as mobile as I once was when I first got my lap band in 2007 and had lost 80 lbs. It takes me 3 weeks to get 3 lbs off and then one bag of chips or going to dinner to put it back on. thanks and good luck to you and your husband on the banding. it does really work, but you have to work it.
  4. Has anyone had a hip replacement or hip resurfacing? I was banded in 2007 and had good success, but I have put half the weight back on and started to have bad hip pain. Now I am told that most of my cartilage is no longer there, and I am in pain when walking and moving. and I know I need to get the weight off again, I went for an adjustment in Feb and am starting to do ok. I was just wondering if I am not along.

    Buddy

I was banded in 2007, gained most of the weight back, making poor choices. would love to have a band buddy. any takers?
  6. what I mean by this is: I have been banded since Feb 2007 and have gained all my weight back. I did not like the way it felt when I ate solid Protein. I am not tight in fact I am probably at a good fill. I was just wondering what it feels like to other people? I avoid solid protein, a fear of getting stuck is what I think caused this in the first place. So I tend to eat slider foods, Just wondering how it feels to others.
