I had the same feeling two weeks out. But then I got to soft foods and saw that I can eat pretty much the same just smaller amounts. I kept tellings myself before surgery maybe I Dnt need this if I try harder. But the harder I tried the more I failed before surgery. After surgery I felt what did I just do. I'm three weeks out and feel more positive now. I've lost 20 lbs so far and can tell the difference in how I feel and how my aches and pain have gone. Once u start eating again I'm sure u will feel different I did after that. Hope it makes you feel better trying to help :-)

I really don't know if I will ask any more questions on here.... I think I will quietly be a observer. I understand all the support for me to be clear of the dangers. However that was not my question.Thank you everyone for your time.

Can you elaborate on the dating part? I've been curious about post-op dating and I'd love to hear your experiences. It seems like now that I'm less than a month out, I've got men chasing me like never before!

The drain being pulled out felt weird, but it didn't hurt. And, of course, once it was out it felt so much better. The drain doesn't necessarily cause pain; it's more of a pain in the butt because you are aware that it is there all the time. When mine was removed, the surgeon told me to hum. So I did, and before you knew it, it was out. I was told to keep the hole covered and clean and that it would close up on its own, and it did in a day or two.
My surgical cuts were closed outside using a type of skin glue. It eventually just wore off; I'd say within a week or two.
Nothing that was done had any severe pain for me. There was discomfort, but I didn't have severe pain at all.

I haven't posted any pics in a while (hit my stretch goal a couple weeks ago now), but this is my absolute favorite before and after and really summarizes the reason I had surgery. My little girl is getting bigger and I've gotten smaller... hopefully she keeps holding my hand for a while longer. They just get so big so fast!

Almost 11 months post-op, from 252 to 175. Have been stalled for some time (at least 3 months, perhaps longer), but I'm running 5 miles at a decent 11 minute pace, and feel outstanding. These pics help to make me feel better about my accomplishments as well.

I've always been an fairly active person. Whether it's walking/running, dancing, housework, opting for stairs instead of elevator, parking further to walk more, circuit training or strength training. Lately its been at mininum 3-4 days weekly. I use these too.

You can do this! I cheated horribly on my pre-op diet. I made myself do it the last three days without cheating at all, because I KNEW I had no choice because surgery was my only option for breaking this addiction. A week into the pre-op diet, I cracked and ate a whopper with cheese, large fry, ten piece nugget, and chocolate shake. I ate that in ten minutes. I felt horrible, and disgusted, and defeated. I had a terrible food addiction. Now after surgery, I still have one, but it is getting better. There are days I feel like I am going to break, but I can tell you that it is MUCH easier to resist now than it was before.
You'll spend the first month breaking your carb and sugar addictions, so that by the time you get to solids it wont be as bad. What I do, when I feel a craving hitting me hard, is go eat 4 ounces of dense Protein immediately. tuna, grilled chicken, ham, etc. By doing that, I know there's no room left for the other garbage. Occasionally, I have "accidentally" eaten a cookie or piece of candy - think it has happened about 4 times already where I legitimately was not thinking, and popped it into my mouth. The good news is, even if I were to get a whopper right now, I'd be full to the max after about half of it (im assuming, I haven't had any fast food since surgery) - and there would be no room for that extra half, or those fries, or that shake anyway.

Not a bad state of mind. I've had the lap band for 8 or so years, maintained successfully about 100 lb weight loss but am now switching to the gastric band. I was merely seeing if I can have a large bowl of clear Soup like I do now. It's one of the ways I get my Water intake since the band, and it's definitely low calorie and healthy. Wish there weren't judgmental people like you in the world but oh well.

So I'm on this committee that meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month. I missed last month since I was on FMLA and this month's meeting (I'm 2 months out) was today. It is in the college of pharmacy in a classroom that we reserve so it has those chairs with the tiny desk thing that goes up and down in front of you. I hope you know what I mean. Prior to surgery, I would always have to leave the desk up and pull another chair over to me in order to write/look at portfolios on that chair's desk because the desk would come nowhere close to going down. Got some funny looks the first few months that I did that.
Today, I went in, sat in my usual seat, started to scoot another desk over and stopped. I kinda looked around to see if anyone was paying attention and decided to lower the desk on my chair to see how much farther I would have until I could put it down. IT WENT ALL THE WAY DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had to tell someone and I was afraid people I know would think I'd gone crazy for being so excited about something like that....figured I could Celebrate here without anyone thinking I was TOO crazy!
