    Not losing weight

so, i havent been exercising, aside from the walk to and from my office and here and there on campus. im a graduate student, and with classes having just started and my part-time job, i havent had time. today, however, i will be headed back to curves. hopefully it will help restart the weight loss. as far as what i eat...a lot of what i ate before, only less. having spent 15 years as a vegetarian, im accostomed to eating hummous, tofu, etc. i have been on a mashed potato kick...ive had them at least every other day. today, for provided lunch, there were sandwiches. so, i just picked the tomato, onion, cheese and turkey off of the bread. for me, i think its just going to be a change in quantity that should lead to weight loss. the quality of food ive always eaten isnt crap. i rarely ate fried foods...drank mostly diet sodas...and wasnt a candy addict. yet, no matter how i tried, i was always overweight. in the past, i even tried alli...without success, as it rids the body of calories from fats...which i never really had any excess of.

    frequent hick-ups

Ive been getting these for the past week every now and again. I have taken it as my body's way of telling me to slow down and chew better. So, when they kick in...i stop eating and do something else for a bit, then finish my meal. but, they do feel uncomfortable. however, a few days back, i experienced what i assume is "stuck." i ate something rather quickly and felt pressure in my chest...so i took a drink of juice to wash it down. LOL. it didnt wash it, but topped it off, and the pressure got so strong that i felt like i could barely breathe. after that experience, which i hope to never repeat (it was scary!), hiccups provide ample warning to just put the silverware down!!

    Not losing weight

im in the same boat. for the first 10 days or so i lost nearly a pound a day. then when i started mushies, it plateaued...i even gained 2 lbs. back (i figure its Water, as now i dont have constant diarrhea). i just keep reminding myself that my food consumption is less. and that this is bandster hell. that my first fill should restart the weight loss.
  8. hi... so, i was banded 8/29. due to some serious issues with diarrhea, i have been eating mashed potatoes to try and bulk up my stools. anyhow, i have noticed in the past couple of days a feeling of pressure, or tightness, in my chest (between my breasts). i am wondering if perhaps i transitioned to the potatoes too early and have messed something up with healing. maybe i am just being paranoid? anyhow, i am wondering if other people feel this pressure at this stage of banding? also, i am wondering if eating mashed potatoes too early could cause a slippage? let me just state that when i eat them, i have with them Soup. that way, they end up watered down once inside my stomach. thanks! m

    Diarreha and cramping?

I had is super bad for the first week...so bad that I shit myself a couple of times, which was rather traumatic. Even now, and I was banded on 8/29, I will still have some. to try and remedy it, I have been doing the following (and it seems to be working): 1. add benefiber to everything! 2. take lactase for lactose intolerance. you can get it at any drug store. 3. eat mashed potatoes (if possible). 4. drink 1 probiotic yogurt drink per day (or more if you feel like it) hope these help!! m

    Who's Getting Banded in August???

i was wondering if the weight loss post surgery would plateau. i figured it would, so i suppose for now i should really enjoy that every day at least a pound is slipping away. congrats to everyone...even if you havent lost weight yet, you will. i promise!! m
