    psoriasis??

Hi all, just wondering if anyone out there suffers from psoriasis and if the band and good eating has helped, i suffer quite badly but have been on a low gluten diet previously and it seemed to help alot, thought that since white bread etc is quite difficult to eat once banded that it might be a cure of sorts  anyones experience greatly appreciated

    Help Im plateauing!

from other threads i have read, it seems you need to trick your body, it has been suggested to have a couple of cheat days, with no exercise and eating a litlle junk then back to what you were doing and it will kickstart your body again to lose weight.
  4. i havn't yet started slowing down with the eating, its like last supper syndrome everyday  need the time to fly by, will prob have to start the liquid pre op next two weeks aagghh!!

Taking Pills = how do you do it?

Debbie 100/60 blood pressure is more on the low side and if it is that consistently I wouldn't have thought you would'nt need to take meds, i'd go and get that checked.
  6. that is quick, its taken me about 3 months. for the ticker, go to tickerfactory.com set it up then copy the url address and paste it under edit signature on the user cp.

    How Bout New Zealand

Hi Fiona, I'm newish to this and this site has been fantastic, I am still waiting to be banded, with Fris as well, we must live pretty close to each other spoke to Ainsley today looks like it will be mid October, was slightly disappointed cause i just wanted it done !! Anyway, sounds like alot to get used to, at the moment I feel like I am having my last supper every time i have something to eat and stuffing it down, even though i know i have to go sssllllooowww, can't believe its supposed to take 20 mins to drink a bloody up and go, so will have to sort my head out on that one. You've done it once so you can do it again and keep us posted, I sure will be, this is like my new hobby lol

    Who are you telling?

I have only told my mum, a friend who is also getting it done, and my sister cause i think she should do it too, otherwise noone else, am yet unsure how to go about the work thing, but working with alot of women who constantly analyse everything that goes into your mouth i couldn't be doing with the hassle.
  13. has anyone had this problem, i am a reg nurse and i work 3 12 hour night shifts per week, my surgeon told me on our first consultation i would need to change to days, stating working nights and weight loss does not go together and to make the most of the band i would need to change to days, i didn't really take much notice thought that i would give it a shot and if i wasn't losing any weight i would try and change then, but now my surgery has been delayed due to this i was hoping for surgery mid september now looks like i'll have to wait till mid october (the waiting is killing me) i have to go and see him again to discuss the shifts, and don't even know if i can change my roster!!! has anyone else been told anything remotely like this :tt2::w00t::cool2:
  14. restless, i'll have to wait to see him again on the 16th, guess i'm more disappointed that i won't be having it done this month and have to wait now till october, i was hoping to be a september samurai
  15. thanks guys for your responses, its great knowing there is a place we all can go to vent that is supportive and understands where we are all coming from. I'll get over it, my roster is done till after the new year anyway so HE will just have to get over it.
  16. the unfortunate thing is i don't have the luxury of being able to change surgeons as he is the only one (small country NZ) says its something to do with the day night rythm (could never spell that word), it is depressing to think that this could screw up my chances of having it done

    hello from NY

Thats great, once you get the ball rolling it all seems to flow, from what i've read on here, it is all done quite differently all over the US, being from New Zealand it is a totally different story anyway, its all self pay done privately, i've done all the pre appointments just waiting till they have their meeting today then i will find out when my date is, then i start the god awful 2 week diet:thumbs_down: not looking forward to that bit but hey a means to an end and all that, keep me posted on how you go :tt2:
  18. EXACTLY :tt2::thumbup::thumbup:
  19. Welcome Lisa Sounds like you are experiencing it all! I am yet to be banded find out tommorrow a date hopefully next two weeks or October (don't know if I can wait that long), and yes this definately becomes a hobby lol, I have never been in forums etc before, and now I get withdrawls if i havn't had a peep for a while, i am relatively new also, but wow what a lot of great info there is, i feel truly informed now, have learnt heaps more than i did at the drs, so am very glad its here :tt2:

My heart goes out to all in New Orleans, what is wrong with these people saying things like that :tt2: good on you for doing something positive. Hope the storm goes quickly, i can't even imagine what it would be like being from NZ, we do get the occaisonal end of a cyclone but NOTHING compared, hope your roof stays intact

    sometimey friends....grrrr

Hi there, yes i can imagine this happening between friends and i'm sure it also happens within relationships as well, its all to do with other peoples insecurities, they are feeling secure because its you thats the fat one and their whole world is about to change if you lose weight, I have kind of experienced this in the past, a sort of competition between myself and a good friend of mine if she feels that i have lost weight she gets all worked up about it and she starts on a strict regime, i refuse to become involved in this anymore, i have also seen this kind of negativeness between my sister and her husband, she is overweight, he is not, and every time she tries to lose weight he does things to sabotage it, then beats her down at a later date about how fat she is etc nasty nasty nasty! Anyway, i am getting banded soon i will find out the date tomorrow :tt2: but i have only told 1 of my friends, my mother and my sister, unfortunately my sister cannot get the funds together to have the band (that husband again i think) and i do hope that once i have it done and start losing, she doesn't get jealous .

    Let's talk booze!

Hi there, well it will be as strong as you want it to be i suppose, i know i enjoy a drink mostly once a week when i go out with friends and usually tend to overindulge, i am yet to be banded so don't really know what will happen after, thats why reading the threads on here is invaluable, but am quite unconcerned about it all really, i know i will still want a drink now and again but will have to be happy with a couple and not a few :tt2:
  24. Hi Jeremy, Congratulations on your loss already, I love reading about this as it gives me loads of hope  I'm not yet banded, am waiting, hopefully mid sep/oct, but good luck and keep it up :tt2:
