  1. Hello I am doing fine, I did have a "moment" today... I freaked out a little when I realized my pre-op is tomorrow and my surgery is 10/14!

I kind of got over it, but it is getting so close and becoming a reality, finally.

  2. OBAMA WINS!!!

  3. Hi GG!

I am happy to hear you are doing okay. I bet you were soo sick, poor baby! I did well, as you know I had the RNY and so far so good. I have lost between 18-20 pounds, depending on the time of day LOL! Take care and I will see you on your Vlog.

  4. Anne-

Thanks for your comments on my blog. I forgot to add something. I lived in AZ for 8 years with John McCain as my senator. I really did like him and was pleasantly surprised that he was chosen as the Republican candidate, he truly is a Maverick and moderate.

I was so moved by his speech the other night, I cried. If the country had seen that Senator McCain throughout this race ( and he had chosen a different running mate, there are many, many intelligent female republican choices out there), I think the results would have been different entirely. Senator McCain is a very humble, politician/ war hero and he did "reach across the isles" many times, which I witnessed as a AZ resident.

As for Senator Obama, I agree with you, in that I hope he keeps his promise to unite the country.

  5. Anne-

Yes, I am making my husband join me. I think he knows I will not be the best person to be around if I am cutting back and he isn't LOL!!!

  6. Anne,

Thanks. The preop diet is not necessarily easier because I still want to eat the junk stuff. But it is becoming routine. The main things are preparing my meals daily and eating every 2-3 hours. Those things are difficult, hopefully it will get better before my surgery date.

  7. Anne,

Whoo Hooo! It is your turn to go get banded. I hope you are excited. I wish you blessings from above, keep happy thoughts and let us know how you did!

  8. Anne,

You can mix a little benadryl cream with hydrocortisone and put it on the itchy areas, esp. at night when you scratch without realizing it.

  9. GG!

Hello, I hope you are doing well. I have not been very active on the web lately. I am down 61lbs. I am going to post pics this week.

  10. GG!

I am going so CrAzYYYYY!!! It is 1445 here and I have not heard a thing. Pray for me I am sooooooooooooo anxious. I just want to know the date!!!

  11. Good Luck today at the doctor. Let him know what your concerns are!!

I am definately going to check out your albums.

  12. Hello Anne!

I just posted another blog and to my shock and surprise, people have read it and responded!!! LOL, what was I thinking?? Isn't that why I am blogging??

Thanks for your words of encouragement. I really appreciate it. Have you been approved yet? If not yet, I hope really soon.

  13. Hello Brownie,

I have BCBS of RI and wanted to know how the process was for you?

  14. Hello gg!

I wanted to give you an update on my status. I went to have the upper GI and GB ultrasound yesterday. While there my surgeon and I began discussing the actual procedural technique as well as the differences between lapband and roux en y (I am a nurse practitioner, I am not sure if you know what that is, it is a RN with specialized training, masters degree, we can see patient and write prescriptions).

So we started talking, I had some questions. At the end we decided that I would be better off with the lap roux en y. My mother is Native American and we carry a gene in which we are prone to type II diabetes. While I am only catagorized as "pre-diabetic', it is just a matter of time before I develop diabetes. The conventional wisdom is not clear but the roux en y is a cure for diabetes! I think if I am going to undergo surgery, I believe that the roux en y is the best choice for me.

Unlike to band there are other considerations, I will need to take several vitamin supplements for the rest of my life. I will also need to have a B12 injection monthly! Not too bad, I can have a collegue or an assistant give it to me. At the worst, I can teach my husband, who is deathly afraid of needles... LOL....

So, while I am not going to be a bandster, I am going to stay on this site, as I have met so many great people (such as yourself) and have read so many inspiring stories, I really feel connected.

Keep vlogging! You don't know how much it helps me. I really look forward to it. My husband, Frank knows you and told me to tell you hello and he wishes you the best, as I do. You are becoming a friend and a part of my family.

    Much love and God bless,

    Sue AKA Bimbabe.

  15. Hello NeNe!

  19. Hello,

I understand, the hair loss is pretty daunting. But I have heard if you stick with the vitamin regime, the loss will be minimal. I have had to cut my hair because I permed it and dyed it a reddish blonde. I don't have to tell you...THAT made it fall out. LOL!!

  20. Hello!

Do you have a date yet or are you just starting?

  21. Hello!

I am doing fine. 16.5lbs is GREAT!!! Good for you! I am up to walking 2 miles per day. I am cheating though, I have been eating mashed potatoes once per day, for the past 3 days. I officially start mushies on the 4th.
