Made it to Onederland! It has been over 6 years that I have not been below 200, finally!

Thank you for all the updates. I have stalled out and plateaued too many times and I often feel very discouraged. I am not losing very quickly, though I am down to 225 from a presurgery high of 285.

Congrats of your weightloss and keep up your hard work

  2. Happy Holidays!!!

I think I have been over on my calories a few days this past week. The head hunger has been very strong and just drinking Water has not been helping. I also get very strong stomach hunger pangs. I am supposed to have 2 meals and 2 shakes rotates 3.5ish hours apart. I have been.getting hungry after afout 2 hours. Im thinking my meals are too small maybe...?

I see my surgeon and nutritionist on the 5th. So I will ask.

    How is everyone?

  3. I am putting myself back on full liquids for a few days. I was put on soft foods (not pureed) on Nov. 28th, but the last few days my stomach seems to be more upset. I figure maybe I need to restart, slow down, and watch my intake a bit better.

It could also just be Constipation because I misplaced my dulcolax.

    But better safe than sorry.

I met a coworker from another department who has the sleeve on Halloween this year. So that was pretty cool. I am thankful for the amount of support I get at work. My immediate coworkers watch my intake more closely than I do 😅.

  4. Hi guys. I am 1 week and a few days post Op from my sleeve surgery. I’m a little concern because I have notice that I am able to drink Water like normal. I’m also able to drink Protein Shakes without a problem. I had mash potato and I was able to eat a good amount without having to feel horrible. I know everyone is different. I just find it strange. Has anyone dealt with this? I’m just nervous that this surgery did not work.
I am like this. I am 2 weeks today and I am not feeling the restriction. I just feel hungry.

    14 days po!

my infection is clearing up (still red around incision but no discharge shine monday) and I am finally slowly loosing the Water weight from the er visit and seeing progress!

    11/3 sw 351.4

    11/17 cw 338

(for reference, 11/13 when i got home from er i was 352! and january 2022 i was 440)

still working on liquids but close to the 64 oz … tolerating most full liquids fine but starting to get heaviness with dairy so dialing back a little there… no desire to eat or drink so i am just sipping trying to get my ounces … changing back to Water from sf beverages in case that’s what’s influencing my lack of thirst (had thought flavor would be a good thing)

Friday my diet changes from full liquids to purée! will have some refried Beans and sweet potatoes this weekend sometime :)

Great job with that weight loss!!!! It sucks that it started so rough for you but you have over come it.

    Keep up the good work!!!!

  6. hey guys I'm 15 days post op and when I wake up I have this weird taste when I burp it almost tastes like blood and has a metal-like taste

I had to have my endoscopy thing just before my surgery because my insurance didn't deem it necessary. The anesthesiologist also had to intubate me. So I had a very rough bloody throat when i woke up.

  7. Don’t forget those very unsexy, badly fitting, disposable bloomers they give you to wear under the gown. [emoji16]
Give your surgeon’s office a call or the hospital & ask what the process is if you’ll likely have your period when you have your surgery. It’s a pretty common thing plus any stress you’re feeling about the surgery may bring your period on early too.
I didnt get those. I have had a lot of surgerys over the years so i lost my fear of exposure though. I just say sorry im gonna blind you and carry on.

  8. it sounded like such a treat, didn’t it??
glad i wasn’t the only one that it sat heavy
I bought it so excited. Heated it up immediately when I got home, strained the bits out of it, poured into my little Portion Control bowl and ate a few bites slowly so ready for it to be amazing. I then handed it off to my husband and told him I will not be eating it.
The Tomato and Red pepper Soup I shared somewhere has been amazing though. I think its my new favorite.
I get all my Protein in my 3 shakes so I am okayed for a small bowl of non- protein soup daily.

  9. IS IT OK TO USE THE CIRKUL water bottle AFTER SURGERY?

I have one. I have not used it because I was told no straws and no poptops of any type. The cirkul flavors have what seems like a pop top to me so added air was a concern. The flavors are great and zero sugar though. I especially like the white cherry.
I will be bringing mine to my followup on the 28th to get a deffinate answer before i use it again though.

Day 13 post op… after resolving the infection and er adventure, I am now feeling great… my stamina is low but when I have energy movement is easier than pre surgery already!

on full liquids till Friday .. it really hasn’t bothered me much being on liquids.. I currently have no desire to eat or drink (which is weird because I drank Water all day long before). So I am constantly reminding myself to drink and stay hydrated …. Only found one thing so far that feels weird in my stomach… I got some Panera bread brand lobster bisque as a treat and after an ounce or two I am full and it sits heavy … think I will add ounce of milk to ounce of Soup next time…

Wounds are healing.. no longer have to bandage the big incision because infection is drying up… give myself a little more healing time and I will be ready to go places!

I also tried the Panera Lonster Bisque and found it dId not sit well with my stomach.

Over all though, i struggle getting all my fluids still. The random muscle near my main incision hurts a lot less than it did a few days ago. I am super itchy from healing. I weighed myself at 264, which is 19 lbs less than my starting weight but only 3 lbs less than my presurgery weight.

Hey all I’m new here. I had my surgery on November 8. I had the gastric sleeve. I’m starting to get worried now. I was losing worthy everyday and now the last two days I haven’t lost anything. I’m a this normal? The surgery went well. I had the sleeve.

Hi. I was also sleeved on the 8th. I can not say what is normal, but my scale is newish and unreliable. It told me I've only lost 3 pounds since my surgery. Dont worry so much about the scale. I have faith my dietitian and Dr. Will let me know if something is wrong.

    You got this.

  13. I am now 4 days post op. The pain was originally my stomach itself, by yesterday i stopped feeling that pain and my larger incision...actually about 2 inches away from my larger incision has started hurting like crazy. I do find the sweetness of my Protein Shakes difficult but tolerate Soups and broth really well. Constantly sipping at my Water and nowhere near meeting that goal yet.
