  1. Congratulations on your weight loss! My stage was soft/pureed combined and I enjoyed refried beans thinned out with yogurt, chili, hummus, guacamole, crab/chicken salad pureed with yogurt, ricotta bake, egg bites. I found tuna too dried so I only tried it once as a salad.

  3. I just had my 6 month follow up and my B12 was 1728, I was asked to reduce my weekly 1ml sublingual dose to half. They said there is new research that shows B12 is accumulated and not peed out like it was thought. My first lab test was one month post op and both liver test were high and I was told by my Primary and Surgeon that it is normal, as long as the bilirubin and protein were within range, not to worry about it. This time around everything was within range. Sent from my SM-S916U1 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Ever changing bra size

I mostly use sports bras since I work from home. The old ones were too tight, 40H so they were good for 3 months, I then found a pair I was going to give away but forgot size 40DDD wireless and wore those for a couple of months, then had a 38DDD lying around for 1 month. I finally gave in and bought a few at One Hanes Place online, 5 bras for $89, got a 36DDD even though it said I should be wearing 38E and put an extender so I can get a few months out of it. 6. We were advised to take collagen as well, I don't take it mainly because I forget to add to my coffee. I try to put lotion on more often and stay hydrated but a lot has to do with genetics and age. I know I'm going to have some since I'm still 50 lbs from goal, but honestly is not as bad as I thought, I do weight lifting so at least it looks slimmer and more put together.

    November 2022 surgery support!

Sorry to hear about the lack of support. I have hair loss, not extreme but it is noticeable. I used to loose a lot before and now its like double that, so I cut my hair 30 days post of so it wasn't as noticeable.. Biotin is supposed to help with new hair growth, but it would not stop the hair shedding/loss. My surgeon's office suggest being on top of your vitamins and proteins, taking the biotin supplement to make sure new hair growth is strong. Some from my support group swear my castor oil and other supplements but I have not tried it.

    Gray/Pale Stools

My stool changes depending on what I ate. Sometimes it tends to be lighter yellow or dark gray. I was told the gray was mainly due to the iron in the multivitamin. Usually when I have a lighter color I didn't digest too well. If you are concern ask your PC or surgeon team.
  9. My first trip was 30 days post op, second at 7 weeks. I took some protein powder (whey and the fruity one) and some Gatorade protein, they come in small packets. Other than that I found it easy to get protein first even when eating out, stuck to lean proteins, eggs, and yogurt. I mentally divided my meals in 4 servings and took leftovers for later or shared my meal with someone. On one occasion I took quest protein chips, not the best option but the bag fills me up and has 20g, now I do the mini quest protein bar as an emergency back up plan.

    Clothes Sharing

I did the same mistake and still keep on doing it, buying clothes while loosing, but it does give me a self esteem boost. I feel the same with donation boxes, I donated to a nearby church or otherwise send to my home country where I know people would use them.

    Stall?

Seems like you are close to goal so your loss might be slowing down. Try changing things around to see if that causes the stall to break: changing exercise, increasing water intake, reviewing protein intake, tracking religiously etc. I feel the restriction depending on the type of food I eat, so you may want to see what you are eating, but like Catwoman7 said, some days I can have 1 egg, another I can have 2 so it all depends.

    Day 2 of pre-op diet

You can do it, the first 3 days are the hardest, while you adjust to changing the way you eat and your body using shakes as fuel. I was lucky to have a meal per day, but even that way the first few times it was hard not to grab something to eat during the day, after day 3, piece of cake. Remember your why.

How Can I Drink More Water??

How many are you getting in now? It took me 2-3 months to steadily hit that 64oz minimum. I was told by my team the 1st month to get at least 48oz since my body needed that at a minimum to function, but after month 2 I was told to prioritize fluids over protein since I could always supplement with a shake. You can start drinking 2oz every 15min and see how it goes, and always track it. I drink a cup of water when I wake up and before my cup of coffee (with protein shake), then when I exercise about 45 minutes I drink 24 to 32oz during the session, that puts me at over half my daily intake which now I aim for 80oz min. I have a water bottle next to my bed, one in the bathroom and I always carry a 32oz bottle with me out and around the house. Also try different temperatures, I was always a room temperature person, but after the surgery I prefer cool water so I drop some ice cubes to make it cool but not cold. I also keep water flavor packets in my office, in case I'm tired of the water by mid afternoon. It does get easier once you are able to drink more often, I can have 3 sips back to back and that helps tremendously.

    Length of liquid diet Post-op

I was also hungry after surgery. It does get better once you start solids, you will be hungry but get full with a small portion. Sent from my SM-S916U1 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Burning/pulling/stinging pain

I was told it was normal even at my 3 month post op appointment. At first it was like yours but after the 1st month, I only felt it occasionally or when I pressed on it. I honestly started to notice it was not hurting even when pressed about 3 weeks ago when I was getting closer to 5 months. This week is kind of nonexistent.
  18. There is a saying that you loose 100 strands of hair per day, and I swear before surgery that was true for me. To avoid noticing it much since I have thin hair, one month post op I cut my hair from my hips to an inch or two below my shoulder. I can't really pin point when it did start, maybe 2 months post op and it doesn't seem so bad now, or maybe I'm just used to it by now. It does fall easily, I will run my fingers through my hair and a bunch comes out, but there is no specific spot and I do not think its noticeable to me or others if I'm loosing it. I always had those baby hair which is growth because my hair is brittle and breaks easily. I'm taking the recommended biotin and sometimes collagen, I was washing my hair once a week instead of the 3 times prior to surgery (now doing 2), and leave my hair loose or with a clip that's not too tight, goodbye messy bun lol.
  19. I tend to suffer from water retention even after surgery (albeit not as often), mostly when sitting for prolong times, drinking too much water, drinking too little water, walking all day or the inevitable plane ride. I use dandelion tea which is a natural diuretic and increase my water intake to avoid dehydration. If it is too extreme, usually after flying, I will take a furosemide that my doctor prescribed but a water pill will work as well.
  20. Wohoo I can cross my legs! I bought size 12 chino shorts. Even when i was 20lbs lighter than today they were always a size 14. Sent from my SM-S916U1 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Weight Loss Patterns?

As everyone will say, everyone is different and their journeys are unique. Look at the overall weight loss instead to train your brain to celebrate every lb lost. I thought I was a slow looser, but once I started seeing my loss per month and year to date, I know there was no way I was doing it on my own. When I feel I should be doing better, I revisit my food log and make sure I'm within my plans recommendations and increase my fluid intake and tweak as needed, most times is my fluids or calories are too low for my activity level. Stall and it is awful!

It may be slowing down since you are after the honeymoon phase and closer to goal. Keep doing what you are doing. Others have been able to break stalls by increasing fluids, exercise or doing a reset day. I tend to exercise in the morning, otherwise everything comes first and I would not get to it. 2 months post op and 4 week stall

I have to agree, seems like a lot of weight lifting so soon after surgery.I would think you are not eating enough and your body could be holding on to your weight. I would speak to your team to see if you should be doing something different with eating. Sent from my SM-S916U1 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Exercise after surgery

Hi, are you taking protein supplements to meet your intake? Very important when exercising for muscle repair as well as the fluids. I started by walking a few days, then switched to HIIT and currently doing a program by a trainer. There are many videos on youtube and pinterest that you can do.
