New to the group, my first post

Thank you all who have replied. I haven't logged in for a while. Life's been a little hectic for me. We had a death in the family, I still haven't worked since having my twins last November, and now I'm up to 335 pounds. Goodness. I definitely have to straighten up and get serious again. But thanks for the encouragement.
  4. Go ahead and get started with a supervised diet and go to appointments. If you do have to have the documentation you will have already started and won't have as long to wait. If you don't at least you can already have a doctor ready to refer you for this surgery.

  5. Hello to everyone. This is my first post. I started here because I just made up my mind that I want to have the lap band. I haven't even gone to a seminar yet, but I have been researching different weight loss surgeries for months now. I am worried now because I haven't been on a supervised weight loss program for 6 months, but from past experience, I can't do it. I looked in to this about 4 years ago when I was 6 feet tall and 268 pounds and they told me I "wasn't fat enough". Also, the doctor was trying to force gastric bypass surgery on me, which I definitely did not want. So here I am 4 years later, weighing 335 pounds and miserable. Once I go to my seminar, if they require me to start a six month diet program I will be very disappointed. I was hoping to have my surgery before the end of the year. But, I'm joining this group for support just in case I do get the bad news. By knowing there are others in the same boat as me will help. Any suggestions or stories that may give me some insight would be appreciated. And again, hello!
