  1. He is probably the best doctor I have ever had. His team is fantastic. When I went to the seminar and heard them speak, I was convinced that day that I was going to have the Lap Band. They have been wonderful and I lost 90 pounds today! They have been there for me since I filled out the paper work saying I was interested. I am frequently e-mailed by half of his team. If you just google lap band ucsd its the first link.

    Plateaus

Like I said, you drop the weight in the beginning because its different. Once your body gets used to the new thing you are doing, you have to change it. Ultimately, it means working out more. Its the same way alcoholics build a tolerance to alcohol. You have to drink more and more to get drunk. You have to work out more and more to keep your body burning fat. Does that make sense?

What does restriction feel like to you?

Its because the full sensation is in the bottom of your stomach. If you ever eat like yogurt pretty fast, it will make you feel full. Granted it compeletly misses the point of the band but that the price we pay.
  6. First I did the KPS radio interview. Than i did the Union Tribune (huge San Diego newspaper) interview. On Monday, my team of doctors wants me to speak to all the patients scheduled out to December for surgery. NOW, momlogic.com (which is controlled by the people who made Oprah and the Tyra Banks show) want me to do an on camera interview. What will be next? I can't wait to spread the happiness i have to the rest of the world. Ok i'm going to go cry tears of joy now. My life couldn't be more perfect!

    I was meant for this...

Thanks so much for your encouraging words. this is my future. And I promise I will do a great job representing all of you. The world has no idea what is about to hit them. I was banded October 3, 2007 and have now lost 101 pounds. 20 left and I will be normal. lol What is it that they call that, healthy?

What does restriction feel like to you?

Than you are good to go. You will probably need a fill though in the next few months. Your stomach shrinks and gets used to having the band there. Also, the saline evaporates too. Weird I know, but it does. Keep up the good work :]

What does restriction feel like to you?

Its pretty crazy isn't it. I used to be the person who ate when i had emotional stuff happening. i had a super messy break up with my ex and I just didn't want to eat at all. It's because our brains obsess over food. Now that we aren't obsessive, we don't think about it anymore. You should be making sure you feel full. As long as you are eating the amount of food that you are supposed to, which I had trouble doing, than you are perfect. :] If you don't eat enough, than your body will go into starvation mode and save all the food you eat. You should be full after you are done eating and than not get hungry for hours afterward.

    Plateaus

You are at the normal stage. Just change up your eating habbits and change up your exercise. I've noticed that if you get too routine, your body gets used to it and it is normal for you to survive that way. Just throw some other stuff into your work out. Don't get discouraged because that will put you in the wrong direction. Just make it be insentive to try even harder. good luck!

Gosh what a change! Isn't it amazing...
  12. On my year date, October 3, I had lost 101 pounds. My skin a a bit loose but I had about a month where my band was too tight. As long as you exercise, you should be fine.

Good luck :] and thank you.

  13. I have been going through SO much drama with my ex. He is pretty much stalking me now and playing really dirty. He never is around long enough for me to have the sheriff there to take him. My year post op appointment went fantastic yesterday. They asked me to speak on a panel of 5 people who have been successful with the band. I am the only teen to speak. They also took my resume but Dr. Horgan was out of town. So hopefully I will be getting a phone call next week about an interview :] I'm just super stressed. My hives are back but not as bad. I'm just going to try to make it through the day peacefully.

    Happy Birthday to ME!

Happy birthday to me! Happy birthday to Hollie! Happy birthday to me! Today is 1 year exactly from my surgery. The same way alcoholics and drug addicts count there years clean as birthdays. This is my new life. I was born again, one year ago today.
  15. Good for you sweetie! Just take it one day at a time. Its a lot less overwhelming when you just focus on the day. Time will fly by like nothing and before you know it... You'll be where I am. It makes it so much more fun that way, when you are not constantly trying to see big numbers. Set yourself samll goals and you'll find it is a lot easier. Everytime you hit a little goal, it feels accomplishing.

Good luck! I am always here for support :]

I'm sorry I have taken so long

Thanks for being worried. :] I filed a police report last week. So if he shows up here, he will go to jail. He gave the key back to my apartment and signed his name off the lease. Mamma didn't raise no fool. So, i had my dad come re-key the locks. I think I am pretty close to having it all be over and done with. We are waiting for the deposit back from the last place we lived. He thinks he should get half but he's dreaming. My mom has been talking with him (because for some odd reason he listens to her) and says after the money is dealt with, it will be over for good. Funniest thing in the whole world, he was looking up 'plus size ass' on my computer. lol

  18. The surgery is too new and there are too many different types of bands you can have. Also, every person's body is different. Don't get mad, just follow YOUR doctors orders.

    Holy Shiat!

Ok all! Sorry it took me so long to respond. Life has been hell with getting rid of the ex and the past. But thank you so much for all your help and encouragement. For me, honestly, I don't have that much trouble making good choices on food. It was really about being full. i mean I am a chocolate girl but they make all kinds of sugar free and fat free chocolate that satisfies your cravings. For me its about havnig the motivation to get up and work out. I made a whole play list on my iPod dedicated to working out. I pick the fast paced songs that talk about some hot girl. Hearing about how hot the girl is motivates me to become that girl. I love it. I never eat fast food. NEVER! no matter how hungry i am. I will run into the deli section of a grocery store. Even liquir store has better food.
