  1. I was telling my gf that the teachers wrote in cursive expecting the kids to be able to read it. She too was perplexed! Are you teaching your DS?

    Nite all

I did teach DS how to write in cursive. I felt that he needed to know it.

Thanks. I hope so too. And please, spray as much as you want. I don't want to infect anyone!!

    lol

Me too! Not so worried about H1N1 except that my DD is 3 and that's one of the age groups (under 5) that "they" are worried about.

I'll be praying for you both.

    LOL!!!

Good job, Suzy! I  multi-quote!

    me too!

    'Night!

PJTP: I can't keep anything down for long as of yet. In the last 5 hours or so it's only been 3 times but I'm barely sipping any Water too. Just taking it easy. The fam is all over at the other house so I'm here by myself. Slept for over an hour this evening. That was nice. Kind of sucks to miss our last night together but I don't want to share my cooties either!

Little nervous about what's going on. I hurt. Band, stomach, port, all hurt. Trying not to scare myself. I'm also running fevers off and on with the chills. At this point, as bad as it sounds, I'm hoping for a flu bug vs the alternative which is band problems.

I'm shutting down soon and probably won't be back on til late weekend. Hope y'all have a great weekend!

    'Night!

Take care of yourself. Don't wait too long to try to be seen by a doctor.

It is after 1am, I'm exhausted, so why am I awake??? ARGHH. I want to sleep. Go to sleep. Lovely sleep.

Until then I will catch up on some of the PJTP activities:

Yep. Somedays he drives me to madness, and then he does something like that. It's the small things that win me over - no bling or dinners out - coffee in bed or the cat litter scooped or something small like that and it's all good!

Construction crew? Men like Mike Holmes - all muscle-y and cute???

The worst is the mirrors with black or gold 'marble-ing'..

    Yes indeed-y!

We all have our breaking point...

Dusting is not in my vocabulary! You must have had a wonderfully clean grandmother's house to visit!

BLECH! Almost enough to turn one's stomach to think about it!

Great weight loss achievement! Don't start worrying about other procedures now. Just focus on living the bandster life- which of course is very easy for me to say and next to impossible to do recently!

    So...what was it??

    How wonderful!!

This does not sound good; get it checked out!

    :):lol::eek:

Have I become the Typhoid Mary of PJTP???

When the automatic taps and hand dryers work, it's wonderful!

    My thought.

ARe you kidding??? They would haunt me - ever seen the 360 irror on 'What Not To Wear?? I'd freak out!

    Exactly!!

Keep us posted; try to rest as stress just makes everything worse!

Do you suppose I can get some sleep now???

I hope that you got some sleep Tap. You aren't typhoid Mary just yet.

    Tap,

I've been trying to get the damned sheep smashed into my laptop so I can send them to you. They are not acting like sheep - there's no following the crowd. Darn. Hey, I know, I'll send you clip art sheep. Then you can count until your crusty little eyes close.

    :)

  2. For the most part, my mouth only hurts when I chew now. I had them adjusted then bent a chain. They had to replace it. That just put my already tender mouth into full agony. I have been trying to eat anyway to toughen it up, but I know I am not chewing as much as I should. I am terrified that I would be too tight for that. Of course, now I can eat pretty much anything. I am stalled. I have gone back to gaining and losing the same 5-7 pounds. I had gained 7 from my lowest, but have since lost 3 of those. I refuse to change my ticker though.

  3. I make it - in 2 different ways:

1 - mix a tsp of instant espresso powder (purchased from grocery store - Megdaglio D'Oro is most common brand) into premade lite chocolate milk muscle milk shakes - or other chocolate Protein shake/drink.

2 - make or purchase from coffee shop an iced skinny vanilla latte - then pour into giant mug and add in a premade lite muscle milk chocolate milk shake - tastes really good and a large volume of liquid - so it takes me forever to drink it.

    Hope this helps!

    :smile2:

It does help. Thanks! I have seen the instant powder in the store. I will have to try it. I love drinking coffee in the morning, and I figured it would be good for me to have some protein too. Maybe I could make it to lunch time without starving.

  4. Oh Slim - I thought to ask one of my gf's if her son's school taught cursive and they did/do. I think he's in 4th grade now?

I wonder why they don't do it here then. They just expect them to pick it up? WTH? I have to wonder if it was just his elementary because the teachers write in cursive at his current school, and I can only assume they expect them to be able to read it.

  5. Ok, so I had to go back and get some of the posts that I didn't get a chance to reply to earlier...

    * slim, i have a 117lb lab that climbs into bed w/me during storms & he likes to lay sideways....

    * construction crew here, demo'ing the master bath - why on earth do folks put wall to wall mirrors all over the place????

You understand then! Your dog weighs about as much as DS!

re the mirrors-I agree with Glou. If I looked like you, there would be mirrors lining every surface in my house!

Slim, I'll be praying for you! I keep hoping things turn around before anyone notices I'm still here! I'm the main bread winner, but it would still hit us hard. He's not 100% safe, either, so we're both nervous. More layoffs are rumored to come next week here. And next quarter, too, if this one doesn't put enough money back into "their" pockets.

    praying for you too!

AWESOME for DS!!!! DD's progress has all A's except for 2 D's. I'm not sure what happened there, but we're working hard to pull that back up.

You wanna send the cutie DS to Houston for tutoring?

ready to send DS your way...just say the word. :w00t:

:w00t: Good luck! We're all pulling for you.

WOOT-WOOT!!!! You go girl!!! You SO deserved that recognition!!! :w00t:

    i agree!

You do damn fine on your own, woman - but no reason for low self esteem - cut that out now! Please. And, thank you.

    ditto!

Me, too! I just get "icked" out when I think of what's on those handles.

Too scared to touch it... :(

Ditto - and praying the the job markets pick up all the way around! SOON!

    Ahhhh...what a sweetie!!!!

    Morning all!

re: insurance - they have 4 years to make all that money now, right? bastages...:smile2:

    I agree!

re: mirrors - If I looked like you, I'd have wall to wall to ceiling mirrors everywhere.

    Exactly!

i have turned into a bit of a germaphob due to DH's obsession w/it. god forbid if we're out and i cross my leg and the bottom of my shoe grazes him......now that i think about it, that's probably the maddest he'll ever get w/me.

I am that way about feet touching me. ick!

i should buy clorox stock - i have one of of those tubs in every room.

I need to buy more wipes and put them around. DS and DH already bathe in the antibacterial gel. They both complain about perfume being too strong, but they will both walk around smelling of old ladies with that on their hands.

    Golly. I am my grandmother.

    ha!

Guess I'll have to be patient with myself...not my strong suit.

I'll just keep following the bandster rules, work on getting off the meds and keep that as my focus. Everything else would be gravy...

    You can do it!

    BB......wierd noise in the yard!!!

    What was the noise?

  6. Thanks! I got a B! YAY!

    Congrats!:smile2:

no restriction with 2nd fill maybe next one...
    Yes, very tricky.

I need a fill too but I really can't afford it right now. I wish I knew how to do my own! HA HA!!

I am right there with you both. I need a fill in the worse way. My eating has really picked up, but I am scared to get a fill. My mouth isn't back to normal so I am scared that I will start having PB issues. I don't want to risk it. I guess I will see if I gain weight while waiting.

  7. Morning all! Whoo hoo - progress. Only one eye is crusty this morning!! So I guess I will head to the office tomorrow - I'll have one more day to de-cootify my body before I return to public places. Then the weekend is going to be non-stop laundry - the pile of towels, pillowcases, facecloths is HUMUNGOUS! I get squeamish thinking of the fulminating germs....ick...

I am glad that you are starting to improve. That is awesome. I feel for you with the laundry.

Morning, Slim. I too slept in, and DH encouraged it, AND brought me coffee in bed.:)

That is so sweet for him to bring you coffee.

  8. Morning everyone! (where are you Tap?) I thought I would do a "quick" check in before work. I slept a little late this morning. It stormed here last night and knocked the power out for a while. Thankfully, I use a battery powered clock. I would still be asleep right now. DS is just as scared of loud storms as I am. He had to get into bed with me (DH went to the couch). DS sleeps wildly! He was all over my little queen sized bed. Needless to say, I am nursing my coffee in hopes that it will wake me up soon.

heartfire-I am glad that you are enjoying your trip. You are going to need a vacation from your vacation. I don't know why I thought you were home by now. Continue to enjoy yourself. Sorry about the painful PB session. Hopefully you will get over the stoma irritation soon.

krtork-I did not know that insurance companies could come back later and decide to not pay something. Seems to me that they should be required to honor whatever their first decision was once they had paid. Good luck with that. That's great about the weightloss though! I am also glad that you are feeling better.

suzyt-so sorry to hear that you missed this job. Sending good thoughts that they one for you comes soon.

SNT-there have been two cases of swine flu at the school that DS goes to. They have left several voicemails and emails about how they are handling things. They will no longer confirm that anyone has or had it. They will just send any kid home with symptoms. I open doors with paper towels in the bathroom, but I hadn't thought about the other doors. I need to go ahead and by a thing of wipes for my desk. I already have hand sanitizer that DS likes to play in when he comes with me to work in the mornings (he catches the school bus from my job).

Thanks again everyone for the well wishes. I had better get a move on.

    BBL!

  9. Thanks everyone for the well wishes. It just seems like we all have something going on right now. I am glad that I have you all for support through it all.

Tap-the ex thing is strange to say the least.

TPG-I love how you wrap things up. You are too funny! Hopefully the wheels will move fast for your surgery issues. I hope you feel better soon with the inner ear problems. I know that has to be a bad feeling. I took some medication once that gave the sensation of turning cart wheels whenever I closed my eyes for a second or two. I can't imagine that feeling while walking.

Luluc-my first thought when I read about your eyes was that you should have sprayed everything down with Lysol like SNT once you read about Tap's eyes. LOL Tap must have some mighty infectious cooties. :tt1:

Beth, Ebony-I have to say that I admire both of you for taking steps to make sure that if the need arises, you can/will be able to take care of yourselves. I am sending good thoughts and prayers to both of you for the jobs & husband situations.

    Kat-enjoy your dinner!

    Heartfire-how you after your trip?

    Suzyt-how are you doing?

krtork-are you ok? I know you said you weren't feeling well last night.

To all of the night workers(plain, SMS, & KC)-I hope you have an uneventful night.

To everyone else, I hope you are having a wonderful night.

  10. OWWWW! and EWWWW!!! :tt1::scared2:

    What she said!

Oh Slim, I'm sorry for your situation! Such a bad spot to be in. I too am the breadwinner for my family, and like you, today they just announced layoffs. I'm safe...but for how long???

    Exactly.

No one told me that life was going to be this stressful when I was a youngster!!!

    Me either!!!

But YAY for DS's report! YOu must be very proud.

    Of course!

I hope your union rep can take action and not just make noise!

    What she said!

    Good luck on your walk/run/wog!

    And what a great NSV!!:w00t::w00t:

    That is an awesome NSV!!!

  11. Gotta weed out the closet again - I'm currently wearing a pair of size 18 pants that are about to fall off of me...went to the ladies' room and pulled them down without unbuttoning and didn't even realize what I'd done...happy surprise!

Hoping for good news on the job application front soon...got class tonight and tons of homework to do, as usual...BBL!:tt1:

Yay on the pants! That is great! I am wishing you the best on the job front!

  12. Hi everyone!

Hi Tap! I hope that your eyes are starting to feel better. I have been on here a few times to try to catch up, but have not been able to. I have been reeling all day. They announced a layoff at my company. Thankfully, I don't think I will be directly affected, but is hitting extremely close. They do our layoffs by seniority. Retirement eligible people can volunteer to take a retirement package that includes something like 1 or 2 years pay plus whatever their pension would be. Supposedly, before they announced the layoff number, they polled to see how many people would be willing to take the retirement package and then based their number on that. Well, it seems that some of the people that told them they would take the package are no longer willing. That means that the lowest in seniority will be let go. If there are job openings in other cities, they could apply, but it is not a given that they would get it. All of the people that would be forced out work with me directly. I am 5th from the bottom in my city and they are letting 3 go. That is cutting it very close. It is even more scary when I think about the fact that they can announce a layoff every quarter. If the bottom 3 are let go, then it is very possible that next quarter could be me. That is a hard pill to swallow when all of my experience is wrapped up in this industry. Although they aren't the only pony show in this town, they are pretty darn close. My husband couldn't carry the load of the household on his shoulders (his paycheck can't even cover our utilities per month). I know that there are others going through this right now. I am not even trying to diminish what anyone else is going through. I know that any job loss in today's economy is hard. It just scares the crap out of me to think that I am the main bread winner in this house, and I could lose my job.

On a MUCH brighter note: DS brought home an all A progress report.:tt1::thumbup::thumbup:

  13. Evening all. I am going to attempt to go to bed early tonight. We are "enteraining" the district president and VP at my job tomorrow. I know that I will be spending the morning attempting to get things in tip top shape (on top of attempting to do my regular job). I know I won't be able to risk coming on here to check in tomorrow until I know for sure that they are gone. I will be thinking good thoughts for all that are sick, going through trials (work and home), and hoping that everyone has a great Tuesday.

You all have a great night!

  14. I did! My crusty one eye is now crusty 2 eyes, and so I said 'screw work', went back to bed, and am only now getting up. It seems to me my eye is getting MORE inflamed, not less, but I will give the course of antibiotics its full time to work.

And yes, it would be nice to meet the PJTP-ers, but I despair that a date will be set. Unfortunately, my vacation request for next year is due this month, and time's a-wastin!

Have a good day everyone; I will check in later.

I am so sorry that you are now dealing with two crusty eyes! Oh no! I hope you get some relief soon.

I have been wondering about the date for the get together myself. The time to pick vacation for next year is fastly approaching.

PJTP-I am at work. I have mentioned before that my coworker really gets abused(mentally) at home by his wife. I think it is getting worse. She is pushing him to the edge. It really worries me because he sometimes seems like one of those people that might "snap". I don't know what to do. He is a grown man, but everyday he goes out of his way for his wife and she just seems to push his buttons almost in punishment for some grievance. I don't know the full story, I'm sure. It just bothers me to be in this huge building with this guy. What if he snaps here???
