  1. slim: Celebrate your successes. I know I am far from my goal, but dangit, I look a lot better than I did, and I feel amazing, well I did until...

PJTP: It is probably my fault for thinking I was the invicible "super immune system teacher"...I made it 6 weeks, and now, I have the H1N1 flu. We have had at least one case per week in my class and I didn't get it. I, of course, get sick two days before training that I have been waiting for since last year! UGH! Now, it looks like next year.:)

Colorado Chick, I am glad your daughter is feeling better. My children have some how managed to not catch it, even though they had 1/4 of their highschool absent for a week! Hopefully they will survive their mom having it.

krtork: stock up on purell and lysol. Spray, spray, spray...those children are full of germs. Who wudda thunkit?!

Now I'm off to take my tamiflu and zythromax:crying:

I am so sorry that you are sick. :crying:I hope that you get better soon! I pray for all of the teachers dealing with this illness. I know you all are dealing with those germy kids all day.

I do feel (and look) so much better (aside from the adult onset acne:mad:). I know my problem is mental. Even though I know that I have worked hard to lose my 76 pounds, I feel like such a fraud sometimes. I know part of that is because I didn't tell a lot of people about my surgery. In that time, I have had several people from work asking for my "diet". Well, I tell the truth that it isn't a diet. I am just doing my best to eat better 9/10ths of the time. The other 1/10th...:scared2: I also have become the major topic of conversation with my family (thanks to big mouth relatives). I went from only my mom & husband knowing, to everyone asking me did it hurt, am I allowed to eat that, is it expensive... you get the picture. I just need to get my head game back together. It's funny how much of this journey is mental.

  2. PJTP...Hi y'all!

    I get to use my multi-quote again!

    Hi CC! *waving* :w00t:

I haven't gotten into Grey's Anatomy - I'm a crime drama junkie. Was watching CSI (the original) last night...wonderful, *spoiler alert* and one of my favorite characters is back...

I don't actually watch either. I end up watching things like American Justice, Notorious, Snapped... true crime junk that should scare me but doesn't. For some reason, I can't watch CSI. It is too real. Crazy huh?:scared2:

I agree - I miss my friends as well, and I'm sad they are not here to join us, but we'll hold up the PJTP banner in their honor!

    What Slim said! :w00t:

I've got a busy weekend ahead...regular work stuff today, then tomorrow DH and I are going to a college football game (he's taking classes locally, wants to do the whole 'college student' thing) then going to see Cedric the Entertainer at the Beacon Theatre in NYC...I can't wait!

As a budding Fashionista, though, I'm having a challenge figuring out what to bring (clothing-wise). My inclination is to wear something cute for the game, bring a change of clothes and then get fly and funky-fresh (yes, I'm showing my age) for the comedy show. DH, like most men, does NOT understand - plans to wear jeans all day and to the comedy show.

Hence my dilemma - I want to show off this new bod I'm developing, but don't want my DH to feel funny about me over-dressing him...of course, I usually do, but that's another story!

So I'm compromising - purple knit minidress, sweater tights and flat boots for the game, then switch to fishnets and black high heels for the comedy show...

    Whatcha think, peeps? :)

I say flaunt your stuff Ebony! Show off that new body.

PJTP-today is my bandiversary. I am not where I really wanted to be by now. I wanted to be down 100 pounds by now. I am trying really hard not to look back at this past year with regret for what I haven't accomplished.:w00t: I know I have come a really long way, but... Isn't that sad? I should be shouting from the roof tops that I have lost this much weight, but instead I am complaining about not having lost enough. I guess it shows how much of a brat I am.

I hope that someday soon we are able to have our whole PJTP family together again(wherever we end up:tongue:).

    Have a great day!

  3. Kat-thanks for sharing the info about G4E. I will be keeping her and her family in my prayers.

Heartfire-I am sorry you are having a complete unfill. Hopefully this will allow you tummy time to heal completely.

Fanny-I am so glad that it finally looks like your house is going to sell. I know you have been waiting for that for quite some time. By the way, I actually like the hair color. It looks good in the picture.

krtork-I know that you are sad that DD is gone to school. I have no experience (other than being the daughter that left) to offer anything to help ease the sadness that you must be feeling. I'll be thinking of you and your DD while you both deal with the "new" stages in your lives.

  4. First, let me say congrats Ebony! I think that is so awesome!!! Hitting onederland is such a great feeling! I am glad that we were here to share that with you.

I am not going to get into the fray of what has been going on. I only got bits and pieces of what was happening so I don't feel comfortable trying to jump in. I will only say this. I came to LBT for info on being a bandster. I stayed because of the wonderful people that I "met" here on the PJTP thread. I really miss the way things were. I really wish/hope that they can get back to that. If not, then I guess I will be yet another casualty of this war of words.

  5. OK KC?... While I :frown: you before.....that is, by far, the rocking-est, most bitchin' story ever!!!!!!! I could've come up with a great dressing down after I'd gotten in my car or in the shower but to have done it on the spot is SO amazing!!!!!!! YOU ARE MY HERO!!! Long distance ^5

KC gets the "set of cojones" award for the week....nay I say 2009! Do I hear a second and/or an "amen"?!?

    2nd and AMEN sista!

  6. I was watching Rachael Ray the other day and she gave a great tip for healthy banana "ice cream". She sliced a banana and froze it. Put the frozen banana slices in a food processor (I used my magic bullet) and add just a little bit of milk (I used 1%) and blend until smooth. Add more milk as needed.

I tried it for Breakfast this morning and it was good! It had the consistency of homemade ice cream. I used a splash of 1% milk and a little Toasted Marshmallow DiVinci SF Syrup. Next time, I think I am going make banana chocolate "ice cream" with the Hood brand chocolate milk. I would think most fruit would work as well. Peaches and strawberries would probably be really good. I think I'm going to start having this for a night snack, since I tend to crave more at night. Just thought I would share this tip with ya'll...

That sounds tasty! I like the taste of bananas, but I hate the texture. Freezing it might help me with that. Thanks for sharing!

    Today-

    B-coffee w/torani syrup, 1/2 chobani yogurt

    L-chicken fries, onion rings:eek::biggrin:

D-fried chicken thigh (PB'd on the last bite)

  7. Well Glou - I am dandy!

I am going to a work conference next week and will work the 5 nights in a row right before I leave.

I need to go find a cocktail dress/semi-formal - for the awards gala night of the convention (never really enjoy shopping - but should be interesting since I've never been down at this weight shopping for a nice dress = bat wings will be the problem!)

Hope everyone else is enjoying their monday!

OH - and I'm contemplating getting an iphone - my pocket book is not going to be happy today.....

I agree with Glou-you are super woman! You should be able to get an iPhone for a lot less than when they started. They have come way down on the price. Good luck!

  8. Morning all. I had to practically swim to work today. The storms are so bad that some schools had to close because it would be too dangerous for them to get to school.

Kat-I hope you feel better soon.

Glouc-I hope your DH feels better soon.

Heartfire-don't forget to call your doctor today.

I will check in again in a little bit. I hope that everyone has a wonderful, safe Monday.

  9. Slim - just a thought - have you had your BP checked recently? Now it could have been just one of those days - but maybe w/ wt loss your BP is regulating itself better and you dont need meds anymore - happens all the time and so when you take it - youre actually dropping your pressure too low = feeling lack of energy.

    Check w/ your Dr.

But again it could have just ben an off day - anyways I hope you feel better tomorrow!

Do BP meds come in different dosages? Like even if she isn't ready to come off of them yet, she may need to reduce the intake amount?

Hope you feel better tomorrow, Slim. Sorry to hear your Sunday was like my Saturday... minus the drinking, of course...

Thanks guys. I had it checked about 2 months ago. It was 115/82 at that time with the medicine. I go back again next week to have it all evaluated again. They always ask me if I have felt bad after taking it. This is the first time that I can remember feeling like this though. I will watch it for the next day or so. If I continue to feel bad, I will see if I can be seen sooner than the 28th. Thanks both of you for caring.

  10. We'll miss you Tap!

Glouc-I am at a loss for words on your family situation. Then again, a lot of families (mine included) are enough to drive you to drink.

Heartfire-I hope you feel better soon. Does your doc allow you to take a small amount of children's liquid ibuprofen? That might help with some of the swelling.

Ebony-that is great about your walk! You did a wonderful job.

Hello to everyone else. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

PJTP-I have spent the entire day in bed. I don't know if it is time for me to come off my blood pressure meds or what. I got up this morning. I had my coffee and took my blood pressure medicine like normal. About an hour later, I just felt sapped of all energy. I went back to bed and slept. I got up for a little bit to eat at lunch time. I was freezing and still feeling off. I lay back down and went back to sleep. I have slept off and on all day. I finally feel somewhat awake now. Of course, it is really close to bedtime now. I am so screwed for tonight's rest and getting up bright eyed in the morning.

  11. :cool:This is great! I am going to the surgeon on Monday to start this whole process because I am still on the fence about having the band done ( leaning towards yes). It is very interesting to see what everyone can and cant eat. sorry it this is dorky, this is my first post.:blushing:

    Not dorky at all. Welcome!

    Today-

B-coffee w/torani Syrup, bacon (several pieces)

L-chips and dip (was upset and let that rule my choice)

    D-chicken fries, few onion rings

  12. Morning Slim! Thanks!

I too hope I find a pair the first store - I hope they are the first pair I pick up too! I can't help but wonder though what size they would have been had I not been eating like a shark since last month:angry::(. I can tell I've gained weight - and now I will be away for 2 weeks, and my next fill isn't scheduled until mid_October....oh well.

Don't be so hard on yourself. You hit a rough patch, but you have made your way through it. You are doing great, and don't you forget that.:)

  13. Morning all! Dh is off to go apple picking and I'm starting the mountain of laundry. I have to go buy a pair of dress pants - I tried on the ones from last fall and nope, too big! So, new ones it is. I hate shopping, and since I need them for Monday, on-line shopping won't do it...that means going into a store (ICK) on a Saturday (ARGHH!!):(

    BBL!

What an awesome NSV! I hate shopping too, but what a wonderful reason to have to. I hope you find the perfect pants in the first store that you go into.:)

  14. OK - I've been advised I am presenting at a conference in a few weeks. Not a problem other than it would have been nice to know and plan in advance as it is about 1000 miles away. So, I am hurridly making travel plans and will likely be out of communication for a few weeks as I now will tack on some vacation. So, it is PJTP flurry for a few days, then I will be be off line....back in early October.

Now, off to do the slide deck.............

Wow, that is short notice for such a far away trip. We will miss you. I will especially miss our early morning chats. :(

What?? No posting for 5 hours?? Where did everybody go?

I had to go to a birthday dinner for my mom. She chose a Chinese buffet. I really wasted money by going there. DS made up for it. He ate like a grown man! I have only been home for about 30 minutes. I went straight from work to the mall in order to find the gift my mom asked for. I had just enough time to come home and change out of my work clothes and head back out. It was a really long evening. We spent almost 3 hours at this restaurant. I am sure they wanted us to leave. I am sure I have mentioned that everyone in my family is overweight. I am sure they wanted to charge us double for the amount of food that was consumed by the people at our table. There were about 20 or so of us there. They put away pounds of food. Then one of my aunts made a devils food cake. She brought this out at the end. I couldn't believe how many of them ate cake!!! Then it hit me, this time last year, I would have eaten it too. Well, actualy, this time last year I was on my pre-op diet and refused to go to the restaurant. My mom understood (sort of), but no one else knew what was going on. They thought I was just being mean to my mom.

Guess everyone else is having a fun filled social Friday night.

    See the long post above.

  15. What kind of internet weirdness is going on?? It is taking LBT forever to load, and sometimes all I get is the 'new' tag in the upper right corner and a blank screen.

Is my employer screwing with my computer? Or have my cooties inflitrated and infected it?

I am getting the same thing Tap. It looks very strange with the flap from the tag dangling (almost like it is breathing) in the corner. Do you think the slow loading is really just to allow us time to notice to the tag?
