  1. Ebony-thinking of you today. Knock 'em dead!

Hi everyone! (I started to name names, but I knew I would forget a name and be in trouble!)

PJTP-I had a fight with some medicine this morning. The medicine won. I have been having some major acne issues. I went to the doctor. She gave me an antibiotic and some topical hardline face cream. Well, the directions on the antibiotic said to take on an empty stomach (I should have known much better than this). It was awful. I WON'T be doing that again. I finally was able to get some hot chocolate down about an hour ago. It took me almost 2 hours to get 20 oz down, but it went down. It seems to be staying down. I will do liquids the rest of the day.

  2. Nope, no name for me, just "Taylor's mom".

Hey! We have the same name!

Lulu - how many mojitos have you had already? Watching grill it w/ bobby flay while I get ready for work (dvr'd from yest) and they're making good food and drink -also saw a good drink on yesterday's guy's big bite - ? - orange G? love me some new drinks!

Ok here's one of the drink recipes from the grill it show:.

And here I thought you watched the food channel for the cooking!:w00t:

So, KC, Ginger O and watermelon mojitos are clear liquids right? I'll have a couple right after my surgery!

    TPG

    Sounds good to me!;)

pool gal - you can have my arms, there tired today lifting my mojito.....must get back to normal tomorrow:)

    As long as you exercised!

  3. I wasn't diagnosed with PCOS until I started checking into surgery. I have the occassional hair on the chin, but thankfully it is usually one at a time. My problem is with acne. I had acne as a teen, but hadn't had problems until I started losing weight! I now have cystic pimples that are very large and painful. Did any of you notice your acne getting worse as you lost weight? I finally broke down and went to the doctor. I was prescribed a topical medicine along with an antibiotic. I am praying that it works. I look worse than I ever did as a teen!!!!

  4. Ebony-yay on the NSV! As far as your DH, I think that is just a man thing. Don't let that steal your joy. I think a lot of men don't have whatever it is that should stop them from saying things like that. I know my DH has been known for saying things like that. I try not to ask him. Instead, I ask DS. He hasn't learned his father's lack of tact.

  5. hey all ~

well cause plain has such a touching way of speaking to me - i really didn't plan to leave ; just needed to handle stuff.

had to put my husbands dog (yes his, not mine) down on friday morning, and i likely was a bit over sensitive last wk.

i'd like to thank my FB/PJTP friends for your lovely words & ktork i plan on surfing that sight this evening w/DH to pick out some art work.

i NEED this site cause i'm a fat ass who loves food - i don't have a support system much outside this place because DH and i chose to keep our banding very private.

off for some much needed ritas' .... :)

I am so sorry about your DH's dog. I know that had to be tough on both of you.

I am so glad that you aren't leaving. You have been missed. Enjoy your drinks!

  6. I think the Peel-Away may be my best option. I am not even remotely sure how many layers of paint I am looking at. I won't be staining because I am not sure what is under there and whether it would match the awful doors. The doors are in awful shape. It was quite obvious now that the woman I bought from did not believe in routine maitenance on anything. This is place is basically a money pit. Nothing that I am doing to it is raising the value, but in order to get rid of it, I would have to have major renovations done (unless some as stupid as I am tries to buy it).

  7. Krtork-How/when did you start running? It seems that so many (Luluc, Mac, Ebony, etc) run for exercise. How far along into your weight loss did you start? How did you start? I tried doing the couch to 5k, but I didn't do well.

Next question-to all of you do-it-yourselfers, what is the best way to remove paint from around baseboards and doors? It is obvious that it has all been painted and repainted. I don't want to attempt to paint over it again. I also don't have it in me to replace them (patching and painting are all I have been able to do so far).

  8. Please keep us posted on how your cakes, cupcakes or muffins turn out!

I didn't like how my lemon cake turned out yesterday (although DS and DH ate it up). I decided to try it again. This time I used a devil's food cake mix and diet cola. I didn't use my mixer this time. I hand mixed it with a spatula. It turned out really nice. DS and DH ate it warm with sf whipped topping. Not bad for them to not know that it was at least somewhat healthier for them without all of the eggs and oil. Thanks for posting about your cake and reminding me that I wanted to try that!

  9. Although things didn't go as planned, it sounds like you had a really good day. You had a very busy day. I have decided that I am going to start on my master bedroom soon. I have been looking at ugly yellow walls since I bought the house. We are slowly doing the rooms. Some of the rooms need to be demoed! The second bathroom is a prime example. It seems that they did some "touch up" work to make it presentable for sale. They obviously didn't use materials made for a bathroom with a shower. I am going to have to use KILLZ on every paintable surface in there. I really want it to be retiled, but that would mean that DH and I would have to share a shower for the duration of that project. That has put a halt on it. ***shuddering***

KC-It sounds like you had an awesome time the last few days. I am sure the mojitos were a complete hit. I know spending time with your goddaughter was nice too.

Kat-I know nothing compares to holding a new baby. I love the way babies feel and smell. **ok, backing away from the baby talk, I am NOT having anymore babies!**

G4E-You know we are still praying for your DBIL.

I hope everyone has a great Sunday!

  10. At my local grocery store, they are mixed in with the regular cake mixes. I used the reduced sugar cake mix for some Protein muffins that Macmadame posted a while back. Let me know how it turns out!

Ok, here goes with the results. I used lemon cake mix with sprite. It doesn't rise as much as it would with the eggs and oil. The texture is more dense. It isn't quite brownie texture, but it isn't regular cake texture either. The taste is good. I would say it is sweeter than regular cake mix alone. I don't usually frost my cakes, so that works out. My almost teenage son likes it. My very picky husband likes it too. I would make it again.

  11. Thanks slim! I will check that out. I think Duncan Hines and Pillsbury makes a reduced sugar cake mix also.

I hadn't even thought of using the reduced sugar cake! I need to check my grocer to see if they actually sell any of them. Either way, I think I will try that this weekend. I saw several interesting combos of different flavors of cake with different flavors of diet soda. I think it could turn out to be really good.

  12. Question: you use a box cake mix and diet soda only (and the carob chocolate chips)? No eggs or oil? How much diet soda?

I saw this recipe a while back. If you google weight watchers diet soda cake, several versions come up. They all call for an entire 12 oz can of soda. I understand that the cake comes out a little more like brownies than cake. One version I saw added 2 egg whites to the mixture and it was said to be lighter in texture. I have been thinking about trying it for some time because I LOVE chocolate cake. My coworker tried it with lemon cake and put in diet Sprite. He said it was really tasty, but just a tad sweeter than the cake would have been without the soda.

  13. Everyone with plans, have fun this weekend! I plan to relax after having a hellatious (is that even a word?) day at work! I really hate when I am hormonal at work. It makes for a bad day. DH happened to call at a bad time wanting to be his normal a*shole self. Well, it sent me into a fit of tears. He does not handle tears well. It was hilarious to me later, but at the time I was just a puddle.
