1. House is clean, yard is mowed, activity area on the back lot is ready. We have horseshoe pits, volleyball pit, couple of tetherball poles etc. up on a hill we own that overlooks our yard. I have the gifts ready to go, cake is ordered and supposed to be picked up at noon. drinks are bought---it will be non alcoholic---lots of kids and tee totaler inlaws! As far as I can see, I am as ready as I am getting for tomorrows party.

It sounds all is ready! I hope that you all have so much fun at the party!

Slim, sorry no NSV for you. I say try the booze. Maybe it's what your metabolism needs.:scared2:

:lol:I must not have drank enough. I need to try again.

Cont'd: Lulu, is lobster a clear liquid? Yum. Enjoy.

    Kat - Hi!

Kristen, whoooo hoo on the 14s. WTG! :)

    Heartfire, howdy!

PJTP: liquid diet is going okay. I'm really not hungry. I just spent the whole day cooking. Made German potato salad, slaw, baked Beans, and crab rangoon dip. All for tomorrow's party. I tasted as I cooked but mostly just the sauce parts. I didn't eat any! Tomorrow is gonna be rough. I'll just gaze longingly at the fruit for the chocolate fountain. When it's cake time, I'm picking up my camera and keeping busy. Sniffing the air in my house today was torture. Onions fried in bacon fat?!? Oh, save me from my fat self!! At least tomorrow I can wander outside. I still think wine is a clear liquid though . How the heck will I do this party with the family cold sober?????:cursing:

Hope you all have a great weekend!

    TPG

You can do it! Keep moving around so that aren't tempted to eat.

PJTP...taking a break from homework, and look where I end up!

Love reading all the updates from everyone, seeing familiar names popping up.

Much love, good wishes, good health and tons of weight loss for those of us who want it, easy maintenance for those of us at or near goal.

Had to go shopping again today - had to try on some more 14's to see if I wasn't imagining things. Yep, they do fit - although jeans are tough because of my thighs. That's the first time in like FOREVER that I've had trouble fitting into something because of my thighs - it used to be my tummy that kept me out of stuff.

I'm happy about it - I don't mind wearing a 16 for a while, and when I get ready, the 14's will be there...I am just happy to be out of the 20's in my clothing sizes!

Loving my banded life right now - except that I'm stuck on a plateau, so I've gotta tighten up the nutrition and eating again - I must be doing something not-quite-right. I'm stuck at 5 pounds above Onederland and I wanna be there really, really BAD!:cursing:

Gotta try to be patient and not stress myself out...that is definately bad for my band! Hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the weekend!

You can do it Ebony. You will be in Onderland before you know it! I think with all of the exercise that you have been doing that you are losing a lot of inches. Don't worry about that stinkin' scale. You are doing an awesome job on your weightloss!

  2. we had a really good time.

didn't spend too much time in our seats as DH really wanted to walk around and check out the new stadium.

was on the obnoxious side - but impressed w/the new stadium - bars/restaurants/seats/ etc.

sorry about the titans - DH couldn't care less about them, but if the cowboys were playing say the giants or eagles....you couldn't drag him out of his seat:)

That is so funny about your DH. I think that the stadium sounds pretty fun. DH has never been to a professional game. DS and I have gone to see Atlanta play a few times. I actually went to see Atlanta play the Cowbows quite a few years ago. That was a really fun game (said with as much sarcasm as the computer will allow). The guy that I went with was a real chowder head. He paid $200 for scalped tickets for us to get in because he was/probably still is a HUGE cowboys fan. He spent all of his money so we had no drinks...no snacks...no NOTHING. I ended up having to buy us gas to get back home.

G4E - good to hear from you - Prayers for you and BIL!

Thanks for the well wishes on my mouth - oddly I am not having any pain (not sure thats good) the root canal originally was done beginning of the year - never felt right and then all of a sudden an abscess developed above the root.

So revision on monday with endodontist specialist - $$$ (their hoping this will take care of the infection.)

To top it off I have a cavity - right in between 2 teeth - so it's actually 2 and because of the odd location they have to do a partial crown. I mean seriously - I take care of my teeth - WTH?!

I wanted it done all at once - but there on opposite sides of the mouth so they said they wont because I'll be numb all over. I tried to explain that I can handle a liquid diet for a day (duhh!)

They don't seem to understand - so back to the dentist on Tuesday. Just what I want to do on my 2 days off - oh well!

I am glad that you aren't in any pain. I hate that you are going to have work done on two different days. That is terrible.

    get good pain meds KC!!!!

    I agree!

  3. Hi everyone!

G4E-Continued prayers and good thoughts coming your way. Know that we think about you and miss you when you are gone.

Heartfire-I have only recently been drinking so I have no idea if it is slowing my weightloss. Of course, I have been losing slowly anyway, so I am not sure I would be able to tell the difference. I did add the calories to my daily totals that I keep up with on my iPhone.

KC-I am so sorry to hear about your root canal. Mouth pain is the pits. I hope this root canal goes well.

TPG-How are you doing on the liquids?

I hope that everyone (including those whose names I didn't mention) is having a wonderful weekend! I am off to tame the hair (if that is possible).

  4. Evening everyone! It is so awesome to see so many of the old faces around! I haven't seen it showing this many people viewing the thread in a really long time! I am so excited about that!

Krtork-I hope that you have taken a hot bath and rubbed down so that you are not even more sore tomorrow. I am glad that you aren't hurt terribly bad.

re social sites:DH doesn't do regular computer social sites. He does chat or whatever with his video game playing buddies. It is still so odd to me all of these grown men playing the video games like they are playing pro.

re shopping:I haven't really done any shopping yet. I am afraid. I don't know what size to start with!!!

re cocktails:I would love to have an icy cocktail right now. I am on call until Monday morning. I can't take a chance that I will get called in while having a buzz.

  5. It was...interesting...picked up a pair of "slim fit" capris, didn't see the "slim fit" part until I got into the changing room. It was okay, though - I got them on, buttoned up and zipped! And I could still breathe! :) Now I didn't like how my legs looked in them (I still have big legs) so I didn't buy them, but I'm thrilled I FIT into a 14!

Hot dog!!! That is so awesome!

    PJTP...again!

Slim - you asked about my hair...

I had been relaxing for over 30 years (since I was 12 or 13) and started getting breakage behind both ears in 2007, so I decided to take the plunge and go natural. DH was, and is, completely supportive.

I dealt with the two textures for about 4 months - flatironing the roots so I could deal with my hair. It was shoulder-length, and I've NEVER had it short, so I was trying to "ease" into it...

Didn't really work - after a couple of months, the two very different textures were driving me nuts, so I chopped it off. I still had some permed ends, but it was mostly natural. Grew it out for a few more weeks and then went really short...not a caesar, but darn close! :wink2:

It just kept growing - its as if my hair finally felt "free". Maintenance was super-easy - Shampoo, condition, comb and go...loved it!

Now its grown out quite a bit - if I blow it out, I've got an Angela Davis quality fro going on...really BIG hair! I usually don't blow it out, though - I prefer the waves and curls of my natural texture, so I wet it down in the morning and put a leave-in conditioner on it, then finger-comb (my hair goes POOF when I use a comb on it) and out the door I go.

DH loves it, I love it...I'll have to post a pic soon. It really does look a LOT like my avi...when I first started here, I wanted my hair to be that long, and now it's there...I couldn't be happier.

I got lots of advice from nappturality.com - a website devoted to natural hair and the women who choose to wear it. Dreadlocks, afros, braids, curls, etc all are represented there...lots of style ideas, lots of advice, some lifestyle stuff too. I enjoy my time there, but I'm HERE more often.

Let me know if you have specific questions - I'd be happy to help! :wink2:

I want to go natural so bad, but my hair is pretty short in a lot of places. I would have to cut it really short at this point to cut off my relaxed ends. That would make me look like MIL. I am NOT doing that. I have thought about maybe doing twists of some sort, but I can't make up my mind. I also have a hard time finding someone here that knows how to do it right. I had microbraids once, but they were too long. I couldn't find anyone that would cut them for me. I finally cut those suckers out myself. I may have to go to Atlanta to get something done to it.

Oh I LOL all day at work. They'll ask what I'm laughing at, but I just tell them it was one of the voices in my head again.

    ROFLMAO

Awesome! Didn't I tell ya?? HUH?? :cursing:

    Ditto!

Ebony, good on you! Natural hair is gorgeous! I let mine go natural and it's been a litle over a year now. I had to cut my hair down alot first. I cut about 5 inches off. :(

I cut my own hair since I learned how and it came out really good. I haven't needed to cut my hair since. It's pretty amazing.

I co-wash my hair 3x per week and wash with shampoo 1x per week. I never use heat stylers and keep my hair really moisturized. It helps!

Like your hubby, my hubby loves mine too. He's always curling my hair around his fingers and says he can't wait til it gets so much longer, and I have mermaid hair.. LOL whatever that means!

Do you ever visit the message boards for natural hair? That's where I learned how to care for my curlies.

I really want to go natural. I am so tired of trying to keep up with the relaxers. It sucks.

  6. The same thing happened to me. I was due to start the week of my surgery. I didn't get a cycle until 3 months later (I also knew that there was no way I was pregnant). When it came back, it came back strong! I have been very regular since then.

  7. Fanny you look so awesome, lady in RED! :)

    I agree!

Hahahaaaa!! Do you think they would let me use that as my wallpaper background for my work computer? It IS nature after all... :wink2:

Let us know how that works out.

Your kid is amazing, best wishes to him!!

    I agree again.

Hey girl!! So nice to see you posting again!! I'm good. Just trying to find that healthy balance.

You are doing so fantastic with your maintenance. I'll be looking you to for advice when I FINALLY get there. :wink2:

    ---------------------------------

PJTP: Ok, I just have to say. Since I got up today there has been the subject of penises where-ever I go. That's just really bizarre.

As a matter of fact, Marvin Gaye is on my Media Player right now. :( ...and, my calendar has a picture of a weiner dog on it too. Oh, and I bought a Magic Wand at the Wishing Well yesterday.

If I've offended anyone right now, please accept my most non sincerely apology. :)

How much Water is too much water?

    Does anyone take Diurex here?

Can I go home early from work today? I have some really important stuff to do on Facebook. Like, I just expanded my farm on Farmville and I need to do some shifting.

Ok, let's get this party started. This thread WILL NEVER DIE!!

:lol: I am so glad no one was here to hear me laughing at your non sincerely offered apology.:cursing:

  8. I bought my daughter some exquisite shoes (she's going to take a photo with her phone and send it to me soon - I'll post it when she does); and bought myself a hot new dress! This is the first dress I've worn (except for my daughter's wedding 7 years ago) in over 20 years!! Excuse the messy hair and unflattering face pic but I love the dress...

Fanny I love that dress. You look great!

Ok I have to share with you all the funniest pic. I have a Meyer lemon tree and these mushrooms grew in the pot:

    :blink::lol::redface:

That made me snort Diet Dr. Pepper all over my computer!!! I love the mushrooms, I would say to hell with the tree, and grow the shrooms!!! They are hilarious!!!!

Can't you just see marketing them as divorce plant gifts or something!!! LOVE IT!!!!!!!

    :thumbup::lol:

    ..............speechless.

    Yeah right!

My humble mushrooms made you speechless..... I don't understand all the fuss!

    Love the new 'do.

What he said, Krtork. I love your new avi too! I like the hair!

  9. KC absolutely is.!.!.!.

i think the IL are moving for many reasons:

    * DH no longer pays attention to them - she (MIL) cried wolf about too many times and he just can no longer stand her

    * north texas (dallas) is not cheap to "retire" to

    * we have no kids (shame on me) - so nothing to keep them here

    * SIL is getting married (gay) DH is her best man (LOVE him for that) and well, line in the sand drawn......this of course all my opinion..............giggling & snorting:)

Your DH is awesome for doing that. I had really hoped that SIL being pregnant and living in the same city as my step-daughter was going to be all that MIL needed to leave. *sigh* No such luck.

  10. Okay, so there ARE good things about not being married . I do have a SIL though...we call her "Bitchly". I don't think an explanation is necessary here . Okay, we don't ever say it to her face...but we sure as heck think it often enough and sometimes whisper it.

    TPG

I've got a few names for MIL/BIL. I won't post them here just in case...***whispering***MIL seems to have sonic ears/eyes.

  11. Found a CUTE dress for me in a size... wait for it... XL!!!!!! Tried it on when I got home and it is PERFECT!!! So excited!!!

Yay on the XL! That is so awesome! How did I miss seeing this before?

PJTP: If DD ever gets her cute little butt moving, we're heading in to Yosemite today for a couple of hours. Going to go to Pioneer Village and walk around and have some fun exploring. Figured we needed some cheap, get us out of the house, fun today. We have a yearly pass to the park so we can come and go as we please. It's nice, $40 for a yearly pass vs. $20 single entrance fee.

This evening she has dance class. She's missing papa and I'm trying to keep her busy. Not to forget that she misses him but just to keep her from dwelling on the fact that she hasn't seen him all week. She gets it this year that when he's gone, he's gone. Last year she still didn't have a sense of time. This year, much more so. And she knows his days on when he's at work. She can tell you! Sunday mornings she'll wake up and ask if Papa is home yet! When I tell her he's not home yet OR not coming home at all, she demands to know why! Wants me to call him and tell him to come home now! It's kinda funny but in a sad way too.

Well, I'd better go see if I can move her a little faster. Talk to y'all tonight! TTFN!

That is so sweet how you DD loves her papa. DS would miss his dad when he worked out of town just a few years ago. He was 10 and wanted his dad home every night.

    PJTP...Hi Everybody! :w00t:

Then we are on the same medication, Slim...I don't understand why people say hateful things either...there is more than enough negativity in the world without people adding to it. I prefer to keep it positive...

    Amen!:o

I just "colored" my gray into submission for another few weeks. My DH says I should let it grow out - I would, but it's kinda like when I grew out my relaxer - it's hard to hide it while it's growing out, and I have so much hair now that I'd have to cut it short again to get it all to look the same. No thank you - it took me nearly 18 months to grow it out after cutting off the relaxer and going natural, and I love my curls now. I'll be coloring until my hairdresser retires...and since that's me, I've got at least 20 years before THAT happens!

How long did it take you to grow out your relaxer? I have wanted to do that, but my hair is so awful!

When my DH was on deployment, the kids and I used to mark off days on the calendar until his return. When we got down to less than 30 days, it became the "No Mores"...no more 1st of the month without Daddy, etc. When it got down to 7 days, it was the "No No Mores" - No more Mondays without Daddy, etc. It made missing him a little less painful...for them and for me!

How cute! I never thought about doing something like that!

It's wicked humid today, and warm! Just came back in from my lunchtime walk and I am glad for a/c! Finishing up the second half of a chicken salad from yesterday, plus lots of Water to keep me hydrated.

Thinking about going to try on new shorts tonight after work - I want to see if I can fit into a 14 yet...wish me luck! :crying:

I am sure that those 14s will be great!

Oh, this sounds fun. And please do post here. I don't do FB or MyS... I don't want to miss the war! And PJTP, I loves me some Bobby Flay...He should dump the TV star wife. I would happily keep him company (as long as he does all the cooking).

    How is everybody today?

    TPG

I don't FB or myspace either. I hope that KC and Luluc get the hint that we want to know everything about this challenge!

TPG - I'm not too familiar with Bobby Flay...heard his name, but haven't seen his show. Guess I don't watch enough TV

You don't know Bobby Flay! I'm shocked!

    Good day everyone!

Hi KC! Have you been hiding from us?

Holy cow! This is a long post. Sorry.:)
