About Me

  • Biography
I had gastric bypass in 2001 and went from over 400 lbs to 200. I maintained at around 230 for almost 9 years until I had a 40lb regain due to thyroid and menopause. I am having a revision to the DS to work towards a healthier BMI.

  1. If near Utah, there is a surgeon who has been listed as one of like 6 in the US who is certified for these revisions.
  2. It is definitely a much more complicated surgery and you have to find a surgeon who has done numerous ones. They will essentially undo the GB and make it a sleeve and then DS. It takes about 3-4 hrs and an overnight stay. But, it can absolutely be done
  3. A DS is the Duodenal Switch. This is the surgery they do as the second stage of a sleeve or can be done by itself. Research has shown it to have the most weight loss of bariatric surgeries and usually the least regain. I hope this helps
  4. I have a Sept 19th date for a revision from GB to a DS. Is there anyone in SLC area who is having surgery around this time?
