From Everythighjewish.com: The belief that somehow sins can be transferred from human to animal, has been a controversial subject among rabbis. As a result, this ceremony is no longer (except among the very ultra-orthodox or Hasidic circles) practiced today. Instead, repentance, prayer and giving charity is the accepted Jewish practice for obtaining divine forgiveness.

The problem is not if you WORK for someone who outsources.. The problem is if you buy something from someone who outsources.

Its funny. I personally hate outsourcing. It scares me. I work in the IT world in a bank and for us to send them information about how our systems work to a third world country that does not have the same security that we have is just scary. There are lots of problems with outsourcing. There is a HUGE language barrier to get over. and I am not talking accent. Words do not translate equally across languages. Not to mention India learns British english, not american English. There is a lot to be said for people to translate business requirements correctly. Which most times they do not. I know that my company thinks they will save money by outsourcing.. what happens is that they see the benefits for a few quarters, then it all comes back and bites them in the tush. I know a rival bank of ours is now bringing back the divsion they outsourced to India due to the issues that they had. But stockholders and CEO's only see the $$'s saved that minute, not the $$'s spent to correct it the next day. There is a new trend some businesses are doing called insourcing or something like that. They move call centers or IT depts to poorer parts of the US. That is working, but it doesnt have the same big $$ bang that moving to India does. Plus, if you ask me.. I think that the attitude that most Indian men are bringing to the table are setting back American women by 50 years. I have worked with quite a few Indian men who have the attitude to "let the little lady speak" then ignore her." Its getting old that my male boss has to "reassure" my co-worker that yes, I do know what the heck I am talking about. But no one seems to be upset by this. ggggrrrr.

He's just gonna tell you that your gonna burn in hell Alexandra if you dont believe. At this point, why even bother to argue with him? We already know that he's right and we are wrong.
-
Ok, and on what fact do you base that Allah is not God?
-
Wait, wait wait, You dont think that Allah is the same God that the bible is talking about??? God in the Koran=God in the Bible=God in the Jewish testament. (Forgive me, it has slipped my mind the right name)

Ahhh, but he did, and so did King James' edition of the bible. There are many many many "scriptures" out there that were written in the time frame of the original followers of Chirst. However some of them say things like, "you dont really need to go to church, for God is all around us" or that Mary Magdeline had her own scriptures. (Nag Hadami Library.) The basis is that these MEN put what they wanted in there bible to keep what they wanted. A Patriarchal society. While I firmly believe in God, for which I have my own reasons for believing in, I understand why people don't. And I accept that my beliefs my seem to be a "red herring falicy" to others, I don't care. I also would not begin to assume that I could convert or challenge any atheist on this board. Is that a bad Christian of me? maybe, dunno. I just dont think that Inquisition style tactics of dragging people to the other side is right. Happiness/compassion gets people to believe in God, not slanderous remarks about thier intelligence. ** Token Catholic ** (although, I think that should be someone else's title. ) Oh and dont get me started on Christians who dont think I'm Christian enough because I am pro-choice, pro-gay marriage Catholic. Wheet, I think you are right, when I am prompted to write, I smell troll too.

What kills me is the latest NutriSatan, um, system diet plan where the chick SAYS, "This is the SECOND TIME I have lost weight on the plan" Now, if that aint a red flag, I dont know what is! -
The Biblical Case for Pro-Choice & Stem Cell Research

8? where does it say in the Bible you are not "liable for your actions" until your 8? -
The biggest problem is that you can buy "filling" food for $2 a person, or you can buy healthy food that is $4 per person. There are no easy answers to this problem. And I would personally want the government to stay the hell away from my mouth and my clothes. What about warning lables on slutty clothes that say, "You wear this and you may be viewed as a whore and be hit on by ugly men."?

You can get stuck and there is a whole new method to eating that you will have to adapt. I have gotten sorta stuck a few times by my own fault, not chewing, eating too fast. It does not happen often(4 times since August, wehn I was banded) Not a really choking sensation, more like a bizarre pressure. If its really stuck you can "pb" which is a productive burp which I have not had. thankfully. Remember, this is a support board, and mostly (99%) of the people who are here are new or have some kind of problem that they need help with. So you will see a lot of doom and gloom. Espcially from some certain memebers on this board who feel that it is thier god given right to bash the band since they had problems. There are some helpful threads on here. But most of the NC group are on band2gether.net. We watch this thread to see if anyone posts. But most of us dont post on this board anymore.

Doing the work that Jesus would have wanted
wavydaby replied to Tired_Old_Man's topic in Rants & Raves
Well, we could look at this logically as well. As a Christian, I know there is a SMALL minority, yes SMALL, of loud, "unpleasing to the masses" anti-abortion, anti-homosexual Christians. There are more "quiet, helping the poor" Christians out there. Just take a look at the $$'s given to charity. So, the people who are loud, (15%) are taking up work for the people who are quiet (85%) Thank you, signed, One of the many Christians who are pro choice and dont care about homosexuality. -
Stop having so many damn kids; population control, anyone?
wavydaby replied to Sunta's topic in Rants & Raves
Spinal reflex. Its spinal reflex. In my developmental biology class, we removed the brain of a live frog. It still continued to swim and respond to stimuli. Why? SPINAL REFLEX. It didnt feel squat. Its spinal reflex for anything with a spine to jerk back from a stimulus. -

The pill can also prevent implantation. Its a secondary, very low precentage, but can happen and is planned to happen that way by the makers of that. So, do we then ban IUD's and the pill as well? Its a 'very early abortion'. When do you stop? Or is it just convient not to think of that? The more I think of it, the Pope is right on the whole BC issue. Not that I am going to agree with him, but he is still right. -

Ok, again, at what point does it cease being "birth control" and becomes an abortion? Again, as seeing as the pill (not the "morning after" one, the regular one) and the IUD act as an "clump of cells" abortion aid? Or would we all like to just ignore that little fact? -

wavydaby replied to Sunta's topic in Rants & Raves
I know I have posted this before and most people just seem to ignore it... however, im going there AGIAN: All birth control, except the condom/diaphram works by preventing implantation of the fertilized egg in to the uterine lining. The pill has the lovely dual capasity to TRY to prevent the egg from develop in to something that can be fertilized, but it also prevents the uterine lining from developing correctly so the egg can implant. IUD: irritates the lining of the uterus so that the egg can not implant. Whats that spell?? A basic abortion in the technical terms. So, no BC for you but barrier methods. Oh and that 14 yr old that threw her kid out the window, I bet she did not have access to an abortion or even knowledge that she was pregnant till probably late 2nd trimester. Happy Holidaze. -
Everyone has regrets, its part of human nature, I do not however regret getting my band. Oh wait, I am a newbie (less than 2yrs out) So, my say does not count. Yes, it has risks. You can lose it, you can screw it up, you can "eat around it" Which I have to shamefully admit I did do on Thanksgiving. So I ate 8-10oz of food rather than 4-6oz. Its not a habit I intend to keep up. The band is not the grail, you must know what you are getting in to. Is it possible that I may have problems in the furture? Maybe, but seeing that my surgeon didnt just walk away and wash his hands of me after surgery, I think I should be pretty ok. And as for revision surgery? I sure as hell hope I dont have to go there, but in the words of my mother, the RN, "Starving to death by malabsorbtion is not a bad way to die when you are old and feeble"

Nearest beach to main airports. Need help please
wavydaby replied to silverthread's topic in The Lounge
I guess the biggest question is, what are you looking to get out of the vacation. That would be the biggest guidance in where to stay. For Kids or amusment parks? Disney or Universal studios For Relaxation? Maybe Disney, maybe a particular beach. If I was going to FL just for a beach vacation and some mild fun, I would go to the Keys. All depends on what you want.
