Was wondering if there were any Delaware bandsters out there... I live in the Bear area and was curious. How is everyone doing. When were you banded and have you been successful. I wanted to wish everyone:gluck: . Still trying to find my comfort zone with the fills, but have lost 43lbs since being banded on April 27th. I am at a stand still right now.. eating more than I should be.. still in for the good fight though!!

I was banded on April 27th, and find myself not getting the support I need from my family or my doctor. My doctor refuses to fill me more than 1cc per visit. I have had three fills now and still no restriction. It is becoming more and more difficult not to eat whatever I won't because believe me I can. My family is steadily trying to feed me and not understnading that even though right now I can eat whatever I want, I'm trying not to. I have gained three pounds in the last week and am afraid I am going to be fighting an up-hill battle... I try to reaffirm myself and say you can do it, but its hard when I've failed so many times to lose weight. I feel like I'm going back into my old eating habits and patterns that got me to where I started i the first place. :help: HELP!!! :think :cry

Thank you so much Jack, for your enlightenting points on my problem... I am seeing this from a different persepctive... I have been trying really hard to be successful, I don't want to fail again... Let me re-phrase.. I WON'T fail again.... I WON'T give in to bad food choice.... I WILL tell my family that I'm trying to make better choice for me health and my life. Newsho - Thanks for your support....Your right, I do need to be more frank with my doctor... I have been afraid to speak out about the problem with not haveing enough of a fill thinking..I guess he know what he's doing... Maybe he's being a little to cautious with me... I have another appt. this Thursday.. I will use this as my opportunity to be more assertive about my fills. I just want to say that I have been a little shy about being on this website.. But I have found it to be not only informative, but even more supportive than my family and close friends. I want to thank you for that..

Where do go to the doctors at? WOW!! That was a big fill. My doctor will only give me 1cc at a time... I going to make them give me at least 2 or 2.5 for my next appointment... I go to the Chrias Center near Pike Creek. I had the same problem with getting appointments until I complained. Now they schedule me when I call.... Do you work out alot... I was a workout queen for like a month and a half, then I went back to work and lost my drive... I'm trying to get back into a routine, but exercising... UGGHH!!! I just can't get motivated.

Hey Kim!!! So how have you been doing with your band so far?... I have had two fills in the last month... No restriction achieved as of yet.. I am due for my third fill next week... You seem to be doing very well with 22lbs down.. CONGRATS!!!!

I have the 10cc band.. I have had two fill for a total of 2 cc's. My doc is slow walking the fills because they don not want me to suffer the discomfort and inability to keep anything down... I am having my third fill on 18th of August because I still don't have any restriction. I hope this will be the one that puts me in that special place where I won't overeat.

Well, I have been out of the loop for a while. Was banded on April 27th 2006 and have lost 43lbs. I have had two fills and right now have NO restriction what so ever. I keep losing the same 3lbs over and over and over..... ;-( I am scheduled for my third fill on August 18th.. Hopefully this one will work... I tell ya, I can eat anything and everything... Right now.. nothing gets stuck or is difficult for me to swallow... I'm a little afraid that I will get back to my old habits... HELP!!!!

Well Jack, I think we can agree to disagree... I know for myself that I emotionally eat... It was my "Comfort" in the past. It's what I struggle with and have to overcome.... I was successful "THIS TIME" and I did not turn to food to comfort me in my frustration... I went to the gym and walked on the treadmill for 45 minutes to let out my frustration with my fill not working and my gaining 10lbs back. I do agree with your ideas of emotional conditions related to food... I completely disagree with your idea that there is no such thing as "food for comfort". It may only be a temporary feeling of satisfaction from eating for comfort, but it does exist. Its just not a positive way to live or even deal with negative emotions.

I guess I can join the slow losers also. I was banded 4/27/06. Everything was great for a while.. I lost 43lbs and then ALL OF A SUDDEN I was on solid foods and gained 10lbs. I have been at 33lbs for the last two weeks. I had a fill on 6/20/06 and i have NO restriction from it. Still waiting for my doctor to call me back for another fill. I exercise 5 times a week for an hour. I just can't seem to get the weightloss going. Getting frustrated, and I'm afraid I am going to turn to food for comfort. HELP!!!!!

I received my first fill yesterday and I don't feel any difference what so ever. I am still very hungry, and I put back on 5lbs because of my lack of feeling full. I was at a 43lb weight loss after being banded April 27th, I don't want to continue to put on weight. I'm calling my doctor back today and let them know that I have no restriction what so ever. If your doing OK without the fill, then don't get... My weightloss has turned into weight gain and frustration has set in... Can you tell LOL!!!

Hi Tidge, I was banded 4/27/06.. I'm a little over two weeks post-op and I had the same pain. It was mostly gas... You need to get some Gas-X strips or some Mylanta, that may help. Also, Make sure you are not drinking too fast. That can cause those pains also. Hang in there... the worst is almost over... Believe me, it gets better.....

Hello NP, I was banded on 4/27/06 and I still occasionally get that same chest pain... It will com and go for a little while. Be careful with your liquids, they may be too cold or too hot for you, which can also cause the pains in your chest to . My issue was drinking to fast. Once I slowed down, my chest pains diminished. Banded 4/27/2006 281lb Starting weight 262lb Current weight I have NEVER felt pain like this in my life. I made the mistake of drinking some Water a little too fast and also drank a little to much.... I had the worst pain behind my chest cavity and in my belly I have ever felt in my life:omg: ... All of you new Lap Banders like myself, be very careful... DO NOT over-fill your pouch or drink to fast.. Its not worth the pain!!! ANyway, I just wantedt o share this experience so anyone else who is new like myself won't make the same mistake... Thanks for listening people :eek:

Hi Nikki, I was just banded on 4/27/2006... You are able to get in way more liquids than I am, and I am 9 days post. I can only get in about 15 oz right now.. I'm pushing it with 20 oz, but I am doing OK. I just made a post regarding drinkng too fast and over-filling my pouch..Which I made the mistake of doing. Its very painful... WIth my being soooo thirsty, I just drank way too much too fast and did I pay for it. Other than that, I am vry happy with my progress. Welcome to LBT, us newbies can help each other out. Dimples

Between the gas, the lack of energy, and just plain feeling sick, I am really scared right now. I can't seem to even drink an ounce of water without feeling EXTREMELY full or even sick. When does it stop. When will I be able to have a simple glass of water. I am getting very depressed and starting to question my decision. Please someone help, I need some encouragement fast.....

I took everyones advice from the Gas-X to the bending over..... I can actually walk up and down the block now... I am able to keep down Water, and even some Protein shake. I am feeling alot better!!:clap2: The only problem I have now is I have a clot in my hand from my IV that was compromised... I had to get an emergency appointment with the doctor... If it does not go away I may have to have surgery on my hand, BUT, I still FEEL GREAT!!!!! No more questioning whether I did the right thing or not, I know I have now... I even lost 19lbs already.....:biggrin1: I just want to thank everyone who responding.. I will definitely be a regular at this site... You all were such a great support!! THANK YOU

Hello, I'ma 37 yr old female from Delaware and I am scheduled for my Lap Band surgery..... April 27th!!!!! I am veryu nervous but excited. I have been doing alot of research and my concerns are regarding after the surgery. The gas, the pain, my mental state, etc... I am so thankful that I found this site... Everyone seems to be very supportive here. I feel a little better... I have been reading the different posts today and have seen alot of encouraging thoughts. I will try not to let the scary stories get to me... I know everyone is not the same as far as recovery is concerned, but I will definitely keep a positive outlook on this.
