  1. Right nothing in throat. At literally base of the tummy- pain and gurgling. I was like is this hunger?? Pain?? Gas?? Im not sure.
  2. So today for the first time since surgery (9/20) I think I felt… hungry? I woke up with stomach pain- really bad. But not like from the soreness or incision. I drank Gatorade protein and it went away. Then throughout the day it was the same. I’ve never had acid reflux so I am hoping it’s not that. Coincides that today is my first day away from clear liquids. I had a protein shake, a yogurt, and a cup of baked potato soup (only the liquid no chunks). The pain came back a few hours later and I had a cup of skim milk for dinner and it went away. Hunger pangs or GERD?
  3. I think it’s relative for everyone. Some of us have more to lose than others. Some of us lose faster than others due to age, gender, muscle mass…that being said I started at 220 for the preop diet, was 202 surgery day (9/20) and this morning I was 201. I am still pretty swollen and sore, so I am not expecting any major changes to happen for a while. Slow and steady wins the race!
  4. Just had my surgery yesterday. Driving home now. Ouch. The gas pain is no joke but it does get better. Yesterday was a blur. Looking forward to being able to drink without pain and for this gas to go.
  5. Surgery is tomorrow. I’m terrified. Anyone on the same boat? I hugged my kid a little bit tighter than usual and I am ready to get to bed. Congrats to all who have gone through it and good luck to the rest of us . ❤️
  6. Good luck. My husband won’t be able to stay with me overnight, we are also an hour away. Covid related procedures. good luck tomorrow, my GS is Tuesday. Scary but exciting! I did measurements today.
  7. How are you feeling?! Congrats!
  8. Hi friend! First off I wish you a very speedy recovery. second- what’s going on? Why do you feel that way? Is it pain? mine is sept 20 (Tuesday.) I am very nervous but cautiously optimistic that this will be it.
  9. Hey there. mine is sept 20 too. My doctor only gave me a 1 week pre op and he said to have a broth based soup and an egg. I started it two weeks out anyway because I wanted to get my body used to the diet since it’s similar post opp. It is definitely a struggle but it gets better. I have less headaches now than I did Monday, and I find myself less irritable. Wednesday was really bad I was so so hangry. I would encourage you to check with your doc or nutritionist to see if anything else can be added like a Greek yogurt or jello. Or even the soup broth. good luck. We’ve got this!
