  1. Anyone still visiting? It's been pretty quiet. Hope everyone is still working on the new life. It's very easy to feel cured. Kinda like a heart bypass patient. For the first year or so, they're on pins and needles at the first twinge or hint of pain. After that, some go back to the old ways thinking they are cured.... a bad thought process. While we are feeling better and reaping rewards for our efforts, it can be just as easy to fall back on old ways. Take care, beware and good health to all!

  2. Had sleeve last this past December at 66. Just getting back into running and strength training. I officiate football and lacrosse. Slowly moving back to both. I have no regrets, best decision I could have made for myself. Dropped diabetes meds day after surgery and down to one BP med (soon to be none). The golf will be a great source of strength and conditioning. Good luck on this journey!

  3. Arrrgh !!!! All the clothes I put because they "shrunk," have suddenly increased in size to the point they just hang there sizes too big.

Seriously not a complaint. 2 1/2 months out and I feel great. Off my diabetes meds. Down to one (soon to be none) blood pressure med. Getting back into running and biking. Hope everyone is feeling fantastic!

  4. Had my sleeve on the 14th. Just about all of the pain is gone or minimal. Moving on to a liquid/pureed diet this week. Congratulations to all who have gone through the door. If you're getting close and having second thoughts, remember that we all had those thoughts. But you've worked hard to get here and final steps are just a few. Your future is on the other side of the door. Step through and begin your new life.

  5. Met with the surgeon for the final time prior to surgery on Dec 5th. I start liquid diet 10 days prior. SO I will be enjoying a small slice of pecan pie in Thursday. The liquid side consists of a combination of Soups (tomato & cream of types) thinned. broth , Protein Shakes, assorted sugar free jellos (like the green), popsicles, pudding and yogurts and such. The only admonishment is Clear Liquids the day before surgery. It will be the same diet after surgery until advised to proceed to the next step. Obviously this is my teams directions, Your team will probably have their own requirements. Best bet is to follow them. After all, that's why we're paying them the big bucks.

Well wishes and prayers to all.
