I just had the surgery on the 29th... I woke up crying just bc I woke up to pain and the most extremely dry throat I've ever had. Ice chips have saved me and soothed throat and stomach. I went walking about five times since yesterday to try to alleviate the gas pains in my stomach, mostly left side, all the way up to my left shoulder but the counter effect is my stomach hurts now... I found that holding a pillow to my stomach while walking does help... it won't eliminate the pain but it helps. I can tell once I'm healed I will be very happy and thankful for this procedure. It's going to be life changing and any surgery will cause soreness and some pain right after it's done, but I'm not regretting it at all. Ice chips are my friend. Getting in and out of the bed in my hospital room is my enemy and eventually I found myself resting in the recliner in my hospital room and that was much better on my stomach. I also have a heating pad on my stomach and feel pretty good just resting here... lol but know I've got to get up soon to walk and then be discharged from hospital. Good luck everyone!
