    Numbing medication with fills

really? well they were using big needles i don't know if that has anything to do with it..like big syringe needles..
  2. SO... I had my surgery 5 weeks ago. In the first week I lost about 15 pounds and in the next 2 weeks my weight slowly came back as I was starting to eat solids. I got my first fill last Tuesday. They did it while I was under and xray and I swallowed barium. Initially they put 4cc's in the band and thought it would be tight based on the Xray so they left me with 2cc's. The next few days I was on liquids then soft solids, and I lost 6 pounds quick. I've slowly added the solids recently and I gained 6 pounds back!!! I'm just so frustrated. I know that when anyone is on a liquid diet they are going to lose weight right away, but I get my hopes up after losing a few pounds and then it comes back. I'm excercising at least 2-3 times a week with what my work schedule permits. I'm eating healthy... Yet I don't feel ANY restriction. I know this sounds strange, but I actually feel less restriction then I did before I had my first fill! I'm just so depressed and I'm unsure of what to do. I do have an appointment for Jan 13th for a possible 2nd fill. But I wonder if I should call thema and ask if I can get in sooner. Do you guys think they would say no considering they want 4 weeks spacd between them? Please help!
  3. Hey guys! Just to update you. I got an appointment with the doctor next monday to get another fill!! THANK GOD! I also decided to be a bit more organized and I'm planning out my food for the week each sunday. That way I know what I'm eating and how much. I've also commited to working out 6 days a week! If it's not at the gym it's on the wii-fit.

    Me

  11. So I'm at work, I did something terrible! I ate some nachos! I ate probably about a cup 1/2 worth! I feel so terrible. I'm getting my band filled hopefully tomorrow(2nd doc visit, and they said it would be a possibility) and I was just kinda saying "ah what the hell" . I have not been feeling much restriction at all. I'm just addicted to junk food. This is so harD!
  12. i had this! i love that I don't have any scars.

    I ate Nachos!! :( I'm 4 weeks post-op

    thanks guys that really helps!!
  14. So I'm 4 weeks post op. I'm here at work and went down to the cafeteria cause I left my food at home and had some nachos! about a cup 1/2. OMG! I feel so guity I just have such an addition to junk food. I'm been pretty good otherwise. Tomorrow I'm getting my first fill. I have not been feeling any restriction at all. This is so frustrating. !
  15. my problem is bread especially sandwiches -- i haven't even got my first fill but I planned on eating 1/4 of a veggie sandwich (i'm a vegetarian) and i ate 2 bites and had a major problem -- i had to throw it up. So lately I've been trying to stay away from breads. I don't have a problem with oatmeal or even wraps -- but bread.. forget about it!

  21. My health insurance company sent me a check recently for $3000 and I was curious why and after I called them they said that I overpaid my deductible since I was in the hospital many times this year and had 2 surgeries including the lapband. They told me that check they sent was mine to keep. It just seems strange, I've never heard of this before. Does this make sense to you?
  22. So 2 weeks ago I could barely eat a snack cup of Jello, and now I feel no restriction. I got a 6 inch sandwhich with the intention of only eating maybe 1/4 of it at a time. Next thing I knew I was done with the whole sandwhich. Granted I wasn't hungry anymore, but I wasn't full if that makes sense.:wink2: I know that people say that when you get your band they don't put any saline in it, but I was told by my surgeon on Tuesday that they did put a little saline in there even though he didn't specify how much he did put in the band. The surgeon did say that I have lost more weight then normal patients in the time frame. I lost 15 pounds in the first week 1/2. So he thinks I don't need a fill for a while. I'm feeling a little down I havn't lost a pound since then. :wink2: But what I'm worried about is that I did eat a 6inch sandwhich and I didn't have a problem with it. I'm worried that I could possibly expand my stomach. Is that possible?
  23. lolly that's a great idea -- I'll do that next time! kan - my surgeon does not want me eating too much bread, he pretty much told me to find my limit. If I can't handle it, don't eat it. Thanks!

    Frustrated

I can totally relate. I'm week 3 into my band. I all the sudden have felt I can eat everything in site. Today I ate a whole 6 inch sandwhich no problem -- oh and some sun chips on top of that!! Bad I know.. I was intending on only eating 1/4 of the sandwhich, but clearly that didn't happen. I don't know when I'm getting my first fill. I'm going to see the doctor on the 15th, so hoepfully then. I lost 15 pounds the first week. I hope I get out of this bandstar hell!:wink2:
