SuziDavis got a reaction from adodson912@gmail.com in August 2023 Surgery Buddies!
I haven't been in here in a Hot Minute!
I would love to know how everyone is doing. I stopped losing weight at about month 8 or 9 and have maintained, just didn't get to where I had hoped I would. I kind of regret not doing the bypass to be honest.
Otherwise it's been pretty easy.

SuziDavis got a reaction from BeanitoDiego in Very upset after nutritionist appointment
My doctor said women must eat 60-60 grams after surgery, and men 80-100. so no... I don't think she has a problem. That is what you need.
You can use plant protein, protein doesn't = meat.
I am not full vegan, but try to eat as little animal product as possible.
I use Isopure flavorless protein in my Soups and drinks to help hit my number. But I also use this Vegan Protein from 1st Phorm... when I tell you the french toast flavored one in coffee is AMAZING, it really is. They have a lot of flavors and other vegan options.

SuziDavis got a reaction from BlondePatriotInCDA in Oats Overnight
Rather than buying he premade, it's easy to make your own. Just old fashion oats in a dish/jar overnight. You can use Protein powder to flavor it. to skip the sugar.

SuziDavis got a reaction from Tomo in What was your “Moment” ?
My son graduated last June, I saw a pic of myself taken that day... I had already been considering surgery, but that was the push. He graduated on June 8th 2022, I picked a surgeon and had my date locked in on June 26th 2022. I knew if I didn't just do it, I would still be here thinking about it a year later.
I booked my date on my first call with the doctor, rushed to get all clearances and even got covid 3 weeks prior to surgery... 😫 But I wouldn't have done anything differently.

They probably wish they could have it too. I have never lied about having it, but I don't just offer it up to people for this reason. Cause I will fight someone.

SuziDavis got a reaction from BlondePatriotInCDA in Did anyone NOT have a 3 week stall?
I am sure there are people who didn't but I feel like the majority of us did stall between weeks 2-5.

SuziDavis got a reaction from HMol84 in Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go first
I am not sure that this is a victory, but it's something.
Half way through my day Sunday, I realized my wedding ring wasn't on my hand... Started panicking because I couldn't find it anywhere. I knew it was getting loose, but it had never just fell off.
Turns out it fell off in bed. So my fingers are officially smaller than they have been in like 8 years.

SuziDavis got a reaction from Arabesque in Gastric Sleeve Side Effects
Man, I was all over the place for a while, I actually bought pregnancy tests because I was so late at one point, then the next month I was super early. But I evened out around 6 months in. I was so freaked out, my surgeon made a point to tell everyone how much more fertile you are after surgery... I wasn't ready lol.

SuziDavis reacted to BlondePatriotInCDA in Been quiet here lately...
I just wanted to express my appreciation for:
The wonderful, supportive people on this forum. I love how ppl step up to help others going through this journey. Its as if we're never alone, a strong WLS community is behind us all propping us up and pushing us forward!
Its been rather slow on new posts lately, so I figured now was a good time to at least say thank you to everyone who reads the posts and steps up to help others with their knowledge and understanding. I'm glad to have received advice and happy to help when I can. Thank you for making this life changing lifelong journey for me and others easier! ❤

SuziDavis reacted to NickelChip in Mashed-up Sugar-free Peanut Butter Cups on Pureed Diet OK?
I don't have direct experience because I'm pre-op, but everything I've read suggests sugar alcohols are not a good choice because they can lead to gas, bloating, and other unpleasantness for gastric bypass patients. That's something I would probably avoid for quite some time, if ever. I also know my doctor's nutrition guide puts Peanut Butter into the final stage. On a personal note, I know that candy especially is a trigger for me, so I plan to avoid it along with other sweets and focus on natural foods in hopes of killing off those cravings. I definitely fear the slippery slope. But I would also check with your doctor about sugar alcohol in general, which I believe is different than sucralose or aspertame in how the body will process/tolerate it.

SuziDavis got a reaction from cari.Alyce in Looking for women 46 who had the sleeve
I am not 46, but I am 43 and had the sleeve. Sagging skin is something that happens to most people, but it really all depends on you, everyone is different with the amount and where they have it. I will say that any amount of sagging skin is better than the extra weight I was carrying. and you can hide it or remove it if you feel the need.

SuziDavis got a reaction from bariatricks in Skinny Syrup
Jordan's Skinny syrups are my favorite, I wait for sales or get them at TJ Maxx, I love the peach with just Water or tea. Salted Caramel for my coffees. But even my kids use so many of them.

SuziDavis got a reaction from BlondePatriotInCDA in Protein cookie dough-it’s sooo good!!!
I used dark chocolate in mine to limit the sugar. And also used sugar free maple Syrup. My flour was carbalose flour. My Protein only has 3g sugar a serving and 110 calories, so this ended up being a great snack to leave in the fridge.
Cookie dough recipe
16oz container of cottage cheese
1/4 cup maple syrup
2 tsp vanilla
2 cups almond flour(or preferred flour)
1/2-2/3 cup Protein Powder of choice
1 cup chocolate chips
Blend the cottage cheese, syrup and vanilla till it looks like yogurt, then mix in the rest. Adjust to taste.
