    I tried real food

I usually feel full after eating about 2 oz (by weight) of food. I bought 4 ounce mason jars and use them for all my meal prep. I never have come close to eating even 3 oz without feeling like I am going to throw up.

    August surgery buddies!

When I asked my doctor he said to add more calories to help your body adjust, when I did that, I lost more weight. I only increased by 100 cal. but that was enough. The schedule my doc put us on was eating every 2.5 hours or so. breakfast - snack - lunch - snack - dinner. and multiple shakes were fine. The shakes I use are only 140 cal, but 24 grams of protein.

I lost my first week and then it just stopped at week 2. I am not at almost a month and am finally losing again. Everyone stalls. And a lot of people stall in the first month while your body is adjusting, try upping your calories a little to kick it. Best advice, DO NOT WEIGH YOURSELF DAILY. You will torture yourself with the up and down. I am doing once a week right now, and might switch to once a month.

    August surgery buddies!

I come home exhausted and can't sleep till well after midnight. The only time I took my pain meds was one night because I knew it would knock me out.

I couldn't kick my coffee, so I make my morning Protein with coffee instead of water or milk. I made my own salted caramel foam, it was so good!!!! I love my chicken salad and ground turkey. I haven't had any grits/cream of wheat/oatmeal yet. I have tried to avoid carbs as much as possible.

I definitely get tired faster, but can't sleep... 😭. Even at night I have trouble falling asleep now. I was warned that I would probably go through a period of feeling this way, so I am just waiting for the end of it.

Is this normal? Does it go away?

    Hope it works!

    post-op protein

This is my go to protein, before and now after surgery. The flavors are so good, and they mix easy. https://1stphorm.com/collections/protein/products/level-1

    complications

Do you still have your gallbladder? I know that the GB can be an issue for a lot of people after bariatric surgery.

I didn't even think that would happen! Are you having this issue?

My nutritionist at our office said that with eggs, people tend to swallow them whole or not chew enough since they are soft. She actually recommended eating a fried/over med egg or hard boiled egg over scrambled because it will make you chew it. When I tried the fried/over med egg it was much easier on my stomach.

I went to Dr Shillingford in Boca Raton, it was $11,500. He had the best reputation and a great price to make it even better. Everything was very easy and from 1st call to surgery date it was just under 2 months.

My husband doesn't want me to have surgery

Glad to see this worked out. Maybe he feels since you did, he wants you to be super careful. My husband paid for my surgery, and he doesn't care what it takes, he wants me on track.

    Question on hair loss

Thinner hair looks fuller when it is shorter. I already have an undercut on one side, but plan to cut a full undercut when the shedding starts. Also you can regrow more evenly if you go short.

  24. I think this is where the "your new stomach is a tool" part comes into play. Everything I eat has to fit into a 4 oz or less container, I am terrified of failing and stretching my stomach back out, I can't eat more than 2 oz at this point. I know my doctor told us 6 months at minimum before we eat red meat.

    August surgery buddies!

I was looking at those stackable containers. I ended up buying a 12 pack of 4oz mason jars and plastic lids for $15... Let me know how these are, I think the plastic would be better for day trips and things like that.
