Has anyone had an ulcer? What were your symptoms?
SuziDavis replied to Laura M's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had ulcers pre surgery. You get sharp pains, sometimes pain in the chest/upper stomach area, it can cause heartburn, make you nauseous, cause gas pain. If you are having issues, get it checked out. -
Does anyone still bake holiday treats post-op?
SuziDavis replied to raspberrylime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love to bake, so I still do it on a weekly basis. I also temper chocolate. Luckily, I have never been a huge sweets person and it's not a big deal to me. -
Girl, Same.... I have only lost 2.5 lbs in the last month and it is driving me nuts.

So popcorn is NOT my friend....
SuziDavis replied to SleeveToBypass2023's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was missing popcorn so bad, my doctor said I could never have it again... Then I found out other people were allowed. So I tried it. I felt fine, but my favorite snack ever is now not that appealing to me. -
The one thing I make sure I don't do is expect ,y family to understand my new diet. And I don't let them get to me if they make comments. I sat through all the prep appointments and diet recommendations... They have no clue. You know you are doing the right thing, so don't let her or anyone else make you feel bad.

I am on week 3 of a stall... I'm trying not to let it bother me. I have seen a few reset diets, I am thinking of trying one if I can't kick this in the next week.

Intermittent Fasting for Maintenance
SuziDavis replied to maintenanceman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There is a good website on IF called the Galveston Diet, it is run by a doctor who specializes in nutrition and women's health, but will be beneficial for anyone. Either way, she has more fact based info on IF than anyone else I have seen. -
I drink my protein with my coffee everyday. I love my cold brew so that is what I mix it with. I use the Level-1 Meal Replacement shakes from here... https://1stphorm.com/collections/protein They actually taste amazing too. And yeah, I used to drink a gallon a day, ad now I can't. I don't really like flavored water too much either, so I just do the best I can.

I have been drinking coffee since 1 week post op. It has never irritated my stomach so doctor said it was fine. I usually go with black coffee, but will once in a while add some oat milk or something. I really like the Iced Toasted Vanilla Oatmilk Shaken Espressos... I just do 3 pumps of syrup rather than the 4-6 it comes with.

I have been using the 1stPhorm app. you can track food and exercise with it. My apple watch reports to it for steps and what not. And they have a bunch of workout plans, you can choose a program and it will give you a daily workout. I have really enjoyed it.

I don't use the fitbit app.. or I gladly would.

My stall FINALLY broke and I am under 300!!!!!!!!!!!

This brand in my hands down favorite. I can 't stomach a lot of them, but this one is good. I use a lot of their prodicts. https://1stphorm.com/collections/protein/products/level-1?return_url=%2Faccount&variant=31157418131542

Iso Pure is actually flavorless, it is what I used. BUT make sure you add it after you heat up your soup, I noticed my broths and soups bubbled over in the microwave when I added it first,

I am also allowed carbs, but most don't agree with me. I can eat like 3-4 tortilla chips, or half a small/4" tortilla wrap. But that is it, and I don't really crave it enough to make it worth it. I do feel extra full after, even though I do not over eat.

I have, but I ended up liking my collagen powder better, I put it in my coffee.

I am 3 pounds for being under 300 for the first time in years, But I hit my second stall since September... 😫 It's so frustrating!!!

Weight loss after gastric sleeve - 2 months out
SuziDavis replied to Icey's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I used to weight myself every day... that was a huge mistake and a huge disappointment, now I only do it every 10-14 days, just to make sure I am staying on track. Like kcuster83 said, we all fluctuate, especially women, so don't stress yourself out. 70 pounds in 2 months is Awesome. -
The Plant-Based Bariatric: Can It Be Done?
SuziDavis replied to kc892020's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
One of my favorite protein powders is vegan... there are so many options at this point, it's definitely doable. But for real, the French Toast and Chocolate Frost from this link are sooo good. https://1stphorm.com/collections/protein/products/vegan-power-pro?variant=39919579660374 -
Just remember a week or two of discomfort is worth a lifetime of health that you are gaining. It was a major surgery, pain and adjustments should be expected.

That is how mine is... Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do except wait it out. I was luck that I have a lot of hair, but it is noticeable for me still. Shorter hair definitely helps.
-
I couldn't do the chews, I wasted a ton of money on them, but nope... they are so gross. I use the bariatricpal one a day with 45 Iron. The bariatric fusion B-50 & calcium magnesium pill they have.

Covid Testing Prior to surgery
SuziDavis replied to dejakrohn's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yup and it was the first time I had the one that feels like they are sampling your brain. 😂 I had covid a couple of weeks prior and was told that even though I am better, I might still test positive, I was freaking out. -
When did your program give you the OK to take vitamins?
