  1. Congrats!
Tami10 got a reaction from kcuster83 in Almost there
I had my bypass surgery on December 2 2021 and had set a goal to reach my goal weight by my birthday day on October 8th. I started at 290 goal weight is 160. And I have lost 114 lbs bringing down to 176. I have 16lbs to go in just under 3 months. But I'm nervous about the time line of reaching it on time. I had heard the last 15 are the hardest to loose. I'm worried I'm not going to get there in time. I haven't really had a stall or anything. I mean I can go back and forth on the weekends but usually by Monday or Tuesday I'm back to the same or less than Friday but that's it. I'm wondering if most people have issues with the last 15lbs. I also like to know if anyone didn't have a hard time

I feel like I have given up a lot since starting this journey. I don't mind most of them. Mostly because I feel better and down 103 pounds. However I really really miss drinking while I eat.

When I was younger I would never have thought I'd Celebrate being overweight. But I'm so excited to be just overweight and not obese or Mobidly obese. And yesterday my weight on my drivers license is right. I had it at 185 for years since I was that weight after I had my now 20 year old daughter even at 290. I am really thinking of changing the weight to my goal weight of 160 so it doesn't lie the other way.

Great job! You’ll get there faster than you think. I started out as a big 2X last June. Today, one year later Instill can’t wrap my mind around the fact that I’m wearing size 6.

I hated fish too I didn't even like the smell. But I found that cod is good and not fishy tuna is more fishy. It will really take on the flavor of your seasoning.

The picture on the right was yesterday; the one on the left was me close to my fattest. I'm eight months post-op and still losing weight, albeit much more slowly now. I was wearing size 46 pants that barely buttoned around my waist on the left; size 32 on the right. Size 4XL shirt on the left, L on the right. (The left is blurry because I had to crop and it didn't do it nicely. You can still see puh-lenty!)

I am 5 months out after gastric bypass and I have been doing pretty good. Overall my family eats what I do unless it's a take out night but the sides are different I usually make a side like rice or potatoes or noodles that I don't eat but the rest I can. I was a big sweet eater before surgery so I thought that would be a problem if I brought any of that in the house for the rest of my family. But Christmas came and I couldn't take the candy in stakings and desert after dinner from them. So we had it and I was so worried before but when it came time I found that it wasn't so bad and as time came I got a cake or something fir desert fir them had no issues. The only problem I had was when my husband brought how cookie like a bunch of them and I made him take them to his office and put them away so I couldn't see them. Otherwise it's been fine

I'm a firm believer in Celebrate yourself on this journey. You should take the word only out of your mind unless it's I only weigh this much. I feel like people on a weight loss journey "only" is just another four letter cuss word. I had issues with food and Water also. The puree time sucked for me mostly because I found out that texture maters to me it felt like I was on the liquid diet forever. As with the water I had issues with making me nauseous also. I did some research and found that putting some flavoring in it could help but since I couldn't stand them anymore I tried every bottle water until I found one that didn't sit heavy on my stomach and didn't make me nauseous. Smart water was the one for me. It does get better. I'm almost 6 months out from bypass surgery and although I can still only drink smart water eating is better.

Tami10 got a reaction from Erin18 in How much food do you eat after
I'm 5 months out I have timers set for everything 30 min between eating and drinking 2 min between bites at home and I do 1:30 in a restaurant and stop sooner. I also have learned there is a fine line between not completely full and over full. When I feel like I'm not sure or coming to that point I wait an extra 2 min before I decide if I'm going to take a bite or not

I never really had anyone call me fat to my face. I did get things like fluffy or squishy I'd rather of been fat. My mom was over weight when I was a kid and I didn't get big until after my 3rd baby. I was actually under weight as a teenager and young adult. But after I had my hysterectomy at 32 I had started to have more trouble with my weight. I don't think anyone should be disrespectful to anyone about anything. There is always something that a person is insecure about and comments from others aren't helpful. And we also need to be nicer to ourselves. I have not been a good cheerleader for myself. I'm trying to be better about it now but it's hard when it's internal I think because you can't send a mental middle finger and walk away from our own thoughts. I'm not sure why people think they should throw their opions at people. If I didn't ask for it then I didn't want it. I believe in the saying if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything. Also treat people how you want to be treated. And I'm sure those people giving there unwanted opinions wouldn't like it thrown back. But in the word of Pink you're f**king perfect.
