  1. Dont measure or weigh anything, just eye-ball seems to be working fine that way.
  2. Just wanted to say they SUCK!!! Holy crap I almost had what I guess is anxiety attack over it lol. Im never eating again EVER. Well I had ran into issues before where I felt things a little stuck but nothing like the one today, I just got schooled in BAND 101. 1) tiny bits 2) chew the crap out of each bite 3) take your time eating I broke all three rules and paid the price.:girl_hug:
  3. Just remember today was only ONE day, just learn from it and move on. Like others said your band it not working yet if you have no restriction so dont worry to much be stong eat well and your next fill might put you in the weight loss zone
  4. Hmm I would say this is a great question for your Doc!!! Good luck and let us know what he says.
  5. Project Manager at Dell
  6. I quess I did, went off my clear liquid a day early, have had no issues from doing so. This being said i blended the you know what out of the stuff I had that day early :crying: I did not start solid foods until the 3rd week.
  7. You will get over this, the days of shoving food down down will be over  I still love eating I love the little bites I take fun they have just as much flavor as the giant bites I used to take!!!
  8. Well Im 6"5 and started out at 350lbs lost 11lbs the fist week and 9 the last 3 weeks. I would say you are right on track and dont stress about the fist month!!!
  9. I would say your band is to tite, I down 150oz of water a day no problem but I have not had a fill, I just ahd my one month check up and after the doc seeing my weight loss and talking about my eathing he thought it best not to do a fill. I have what I think is good restriction but have no issues with water.
  10. Just curious if any of you have lost your craving for cargs after getting banded, I used to live off carbs BREAD was the first real love of my life. I was banded a month ago today and have not touched bread or rice and have not even thought of them, I will say I crave protien.
  11. you have lost a thrird of the weight you need to drop in 6 months so at this rate in a year and a half you will be at goal, sounds good to me. I will say if I were you I would fallow the rules much more often. Stick to the rules and you will, also not sure if you are working out my guess in no seeing you did not talk about it, get moving it will help a bunch.
  12. Why its obvious he thought of you in a romantic way> I see no reason to call, you will only be sending him mixed messages. I can see it now. “Oh hello my boyfriend is out of town would you like to go do something” This is how he will hear it very bad message to be sending.
  13. Sounds like what many have gone through their first week.
  14. Guys I think many here need to have some realistic expectations on weight loss with the band. I see lots of people stressed in their first month saying “I have only lost” x amount of pounds and 99% of those people have lost over 10lbs that’s a lot of weight. From all I have read and heard the Docs expect 1 to 2 pounds a week as a safe range of weight loss, that’s puts you at 4 to 8 lbs a month not bad, think about it in just 10 months you will be anywhere from 40 to 80 lost, my guess is you did not get fat in 10 month so don’t expect to get skinny in 10. Sure you can do better then the 4 to 8 pounds a month but be prepared to be working out on a regular schedule, remember the band is only a tool all be it a very big tool but still just a tool and you will get out of your weight loss what you put into it, if you don’t plan on working out much be ready to be on the lower end of the weight loss numbers every month. Look at it this way even if you only drop 50lbs a year in 3 short years you will be down 150lbs!!! So back to the realistic expectations arm yourself with knowledge then you can set the proper expectations and decide for yourself am I a person who is ok being on the slower pace to my goal or do I want to be there in year if you chose being there is a year get off your butt and go workout!!! Just an FYI I plan on being there in a year  Good luck to all of you.
  15. You have been banded for only two months how do you figure you have wasted your time? Relax you will get there, you just had major surgery and 1cc sounds about right. You are two months out and have lost 20lbs with only 70 to go dam you have lost like 25% of your extra weight, sounds to my like you are doing just fine!!! Maybe you might want to focus on the positive a bit more I bet you will feel a little better.
  16. I have not had a fill yet, and I fell FULL off a 4oz cottage cheese it blows my mind! Another strage this is going on Im not craving carbs like I used to Im so happy about this I sure hope it stays this way. Used to love bread and rice and now dont ever think about them.
  17. I think many feel this way after there fist fill, Im lucky and feel tons of restriction with no fill, I go in for my one month check up this coming Fri and Im going to tell him NO fill. Call your Doc and have him put in more.
  18. In most cases this will not be enough, remember your Doc works for you! you pay him so you are in charge. Call him up tell him you knee another fill. I sure when you get some good restriction going you will see the pounds start coming off. Good luck.
  19. I was never a coffee person, love the smell hate the taste. Now Diet Mt Dew was for me, I drank 2 two liter bottles a day thats tons of caffein. I have been so happy I quit the day befor my band and have not had caffein in almost a month and feel so much better and I thank God I dont crave it I say hang in there and try to quit coffee, Water is so much better and its free.
  20. Ok I take back my last reply fluids for a few days might no be a bad idea, I got stuck two days ago preaty good and now I got stuck twice today not as bad as the first time but my guess if there might be some swelling going on. So back to luqids for me for a few days
  21. Im four weeks out and did something like your, wife came home with some cade I took way to big of a bite and BAM that bad boy his like a big fat brick in my chest sliming went on for about 5 min then it cleard on its own. I did not go on luquids and Im find just eat the right foods, chew them enough and eat slow you should be fine. Oh and just an FYI l love the band for teaching me a very quick and valuable lesson, the game has changed and I have to play buy its rules!!!
  22. Funny thats going on with me rignt now, I was banded on the 14th of Aug and its on the incision where my port is.
