  4. Hey everyone it's been a long time, I stop in and lurk around and see how wonderful everyone seems to be doing. I can't believe that we are coming up on a year. It went by so fast. The weight sure didn't come off as fast as I thought it would, but I am happy with the progress that I have made. I was wondering if anyone had any advice for me for helping my kids to not have food issues. My oldest daughter is 11 and she is a food sneaker, I was a huge foood sneaker, but I was always told I could not have it. Her sneaking is three instead of one or the whole box instead of a couple. She will also sneak if we are outside, everytime we come in she has wrappers from something. I am extrememly concerned, that being said, I am so afraid of harping her and have her turn out like me. She is a solid girl, heavy solid. I have identical twin daughters who are 9. One of them eats all the time, people could never tell them apart until recently its so obvious because of the weight differance. She claims that she is truely hungry all the time. I have always felt that if kids are hungry feed them, I think I need to change that thought. We as a family changed the way we eat, but I still bought snack packs for the girls for school and crackers and stuff for them to munch on, there is always ice cream in our freezer. I was afraid to take everything away from them, because this was really about me. I needed to loose the weight, I had food issues. Now I got rid of all the junk and have a ton of fruits and veggies for them to snack on. They are always telling me there is noting to eat in our house........ I am at a loss.........any ideas........ Sorry this was so long.....

    Goodmorning from SUNNY San Diego!

Welcome Brie, I am freezing in Cleveland Ohio, wishing for some sunshine. Congratulations on your beautiful girls. Treasure every moment because it goes by way to fast. I have 3 girls a 10 year old and 8 year old twins. The past 8 years has been a whirlwind for me. I have been so busy I never stopped and took the time to think about myself and what I was doing to myself. I then started to see my bad habits rubbing off on my girls and that scared me into seeing myself and what I was doing to these girls. That puts me at today, I am now looking at myself and taking better care of myself, which only makes me a better mother, by showing them a better way to care for themselves. Enjoy this journey. I will be heading your way soon for another fill in MX. So I look forward to that warm sun of yours. I think we are quickly moving into winter here.

    Fill mistakes

I have the band that only holds 4 cc's. I had my first fill on September 30th with fluoro. I had zero restriction, they put in 1.6 cc's and I still had no restriction so she bumped me up to a solid 2 cc's. I have much better restriction now but I am not there yet. I could go for a fill anytime now, but I am a little bit afraid to. I only have problems when I am over hungery and forget the rules.
  9. I swear I was almost 5 weeks out before my port pain went away. I was convinced that when I went for my first fill they wuld tell me that my port had flipped. Thank God that was not the case. My port was fine. After my fill though for like a week when I would excercise I would get a deep burning feeling like I was pulling something I shouldn't. That to went away and all is well again. Good luck.

    Eating Plan???

Hey everyone, I am so excited for everyone, we all seem to be doing so well. I am struggling with my eating right now. Not how much I eat, but what eating method I should follow. I did the three weeks of adkins pre-op and lost 21 pounds before surgery. I am currently in the mushy stage of eating almost 3 weeks post-op. I have been trying to stick to adkins foods, but I am finding that to be harder in this mushy stage. I feel like I eat tuna salad or egg salad for every meal. Anyway, I tried low sugar oatmeal for breakfast yesterday and I swear I was on carb overload. It filled me up and I was not hungry, but I kept searching my cupbpards for something to eat. I needed to remind myself that I was not even hungry. So now I am thinking I should stick with the adkins, but I am also worried about the high fat and cholestrol that comes along with an adkins diet. So what kinds of plan are you following now? What do you see yourself following on full food?

    Tell Us About You!

My name is Beth and I am from Cleveland, Ohio. I am married to my high school sweatheart and bestest friend in the whole world. We have been together for 21 years and married for 14 years. I am a stay-at-home Mom to 3 beautiful girls, 10 and 8 year old twins. They are my motivation all 4 of them. I have had weight issues since I could eat.........YIKES:eek: I have tried every diet there is with the same results. Now I see how my poor choices and life is affecting my girls. I so don't want them to grow up and look and feel the way I do. Our insurance company does NOT pay for any kind of weight loss help, nutritionist, pills, and absolutly no surgery. We started looking into self pay, and then Mexico, and I am now all set for August 19, with Dr. Kuri, in Mexico. I am so ready for this life change. I am so tired of being the fat mom everywhere. Last year for parent teacher conferences they offer you the kids chairs to sit in, I felt like my butt ate the chair:ohmy:, I was so embarressed, and the teacher kept telling me she was sorry I had to sit in such a small chair. (Which only made me feel worse about it) Anyway, I look forward to sharing this journey with all of you. I am now 15 days away from the begininng of the rest of my life!!!!!!!

    Hello Everyone

They are not yet here in Cleveland, Ohio. Are they reasonably priced? It would be nice to have here.

    Hello Everyone

Wow Mary 3 days left, Good luck! How have you decided to handle your fills? I could only find one doctor here that would take me on and he is quite expensive. I think I might keep going back to Mexico for my fills. My Dad lives in San Diego so I can visit with him and run over the boarder for a fill.
  15. Hi, I have been lurking and reading here for awhile and figured I would join the fun. I am three weeks pre-op, on the pre-op diet. I am having surgery on August 19th, with Dr. Kuri, in Tijuana. I am doing very well on the pre-op diet, it's not as bad as I thought it would be. I am very excitied about the whole process. I finally feel like I have found the thing that can help me be successful. I look forward to joining in and being part of this great support system here.
