Try Mega Red (I think it's krill oil) - the pill is about half the size most of the fish oil capsules I've seen. It's more expensive, but the size works for me and blood work seems to show a positive result.

Did OK! Took about 1.5 oz of each item (turkey, roast pork, mashed, sweet potato casserole, sausage stuffing) and was able to enjoy dinner without feeling deprived. I even took 1/5 teaspoon of chocolate silk pie for dessert. I measured everything and scanned the barcode for the pie and my calories came out to about 1000 for the day, I knew I would try to eat dinner, so ate a very light Breakfast and had broth for lunch. I was suprised the sugar didn't bother me but it wasn't worth the anxiety of getting on the scale the next morning! I definitely won't be doing that again any tine soon. I've come too far to screw it up now! I am encouraged by this group, thank you to everyone and good luck going forward on your journey!

You did great! I am jealous of the 2 lb loss since I have never lost 2 lbs overnight. I have gained it overnight though lol.

I think I might be having the same issue. I just want to shop all the time now. I do it online though so
I don't even get any exercise from it. Also long posts are awesome because I love to hear how everyone is and get something to read.

I ate a lot of calories (there was dessert) but what was crazy is because of the volume restriction from the pouch I still stayed around what a normal person would eat on a normal non-holiday day. Basically just allowed myself to eat everything except bread which was a very nice change. Then I lost two pounds overnight! It might be back today so I am going to stay off the scale a few days.

Well I gave myself that day as a cheat day and I wasn't even going to track my food but I couldn't stop myself and tracked anyway. I ate more calories then I thought that I could which was 1114 calories. Most of the issue was cheese looking at the breakdown. So many calories in a little amount of food so I'll have to be careful with cheese in the future I think. I did eat a little of everything and didn't worry about carbs and ended up eating 77. The sad thing was that when I just eat what I want to eat, I didn't eat enough Protein and only hit 50. I did have an issue with the turkey itself which I guess is the same as chicken. I just can't eat it very well, it feels like I'm eating rocks and makes my stomach sore. I was worried that it would hurt my mental ability to stick to the diet after giving myself free rein but so far so good. I think it basically got it out of my system and has actually helped my carb cravings and head hunger issues at least temporarily. So I think I did ok and I can see where I need to watch myself and calories but everything is still a learning curve at this point and I learned a lot and got to Celebrate with my family, so it was a good day

I have been bad. I need to get back in the habit of tracking my meals and Water. Our Thanksgiving plans were upset by my in-laws getting COVID, so we ended up with a Chuck roast for dinner. It was fabulous thousand. Lol I did ok with not overeating, but I have slid and did try a cupcake from the pull apart Turkey I took into work. I need to get back into the gym on a regular basis too. Walking around shopping is not what I need to be doing for exercise. I totally see me transferring my food addiction into more of a shopping addiction.
Sorry this is a longer post, I have had such a hard time figuring out this website, but I know I need to work on that. Still have not received a bill for my surgery, I think it will be totally covered minus the copays I have pad from my dual insurance coverage. That is a major plus.
I hope everyone is doing great and is having a wonderful holiday.

This week has been a game changer! 😎 I am finally able to get my Protein and food in without throwing up!
I've also found a high-protein drink I can finally stand! It's a vanilla Premier Protein (I got a big box of them from Costco) heated up in the microwave for 90 seconds, then I mix in 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder (just the chocolate, no sugar), and a shake of cayenne. It's delicious, warm for the colder season, and a very easy way to get in 32 g of protein, 10 g carbs. 😘
Hydration-wise, I have found that the mango peach Crystal Light is my favorite and is the easiest for me to drink Water without getting sick of it.
I hope you all are thriving! 😊

Hello all! Just found this site. I have my procedure on Friday! Super nervous. I started my journey at 323lbs from my first visit about 5 months ago. I'm on day 4 of my liver shrink diet. I'm currently 295.8 LBS. My Goal weight is 210. I will then see how I feel and maybe try for under 200!

My MIL had her bypass surgery in her 60s and that was in 2010. She is doing fabulous and it has definitely added years to her life. Her surgeon is the one who preformed my sleeve surgery earlier this month.
I was approved to be off work for 3 weeks, but I know I could have gone back sooner. I have a desk job. I go back this Wednesday. Make sure you do take the time off you need to heal and to adjust to your new eating schedule. I honestly think getting back to work will help me with that schedule. I know I have had a harder time getting my liquids in.
Good luck. I hope your daughter can be supportive. I just know I am thankful my MIL’s is thriving after her surgery and look forward to the same for myself.
    Good luck 😊

    Hi,
First of all , am so happy I found this site. I think it will be more than a little helpful!
I am 62 yrs old so anyone my age that is going through or has gone through this I would appreciate any tips you could give. I am looking forward to having energy again and just being able to be healthy. This all started because I have to have my gall bladder removed and they are going to do the Bypass at the same time. I guess I am more nervous about taking all the Vitamins and the liquid portion of the diet. I am finishing up some appointments next week. I am hoping I can do an at home sleep apnea test instead of going in. I still work and wondering about how much time I will need to recover.
I have only told a few close friends and close family but I have'nt told my daughter who is an RN and not a fan of WLS. I am hoping it will not be a difficult conversation.

Thanks again for all the good information! Good luck on your journeys.

I have several playlists made on my Apple Music. Most are based on the artist (Wham!, Midge Ure, and Scorpions) or an 80’s workout, but also they are varied by time. I have a 15 minute one for me to use on breaks at work.

I'm going to have to create a workout play list. I usually listen to podcasts when on the bike or elliptical or treadmill or walking outside, but I do want music for my HIIT/weight training. I always put my iTunes on shuffle all but there's some really random stuff in there, mostly a lot of showtunes and folk music, none of which is great for a work out...🧟‍♂️

Im posting this here in case it helps someone else. These are the workout video creators I follow on YouTube. I am three months(ish) out from gastric sleeve surgery so I like to switch it up.
Leslie Sansone-Walk Away the Pounds. She is the OG of walking videos. Her walks range from ten minutes to 45 minutes. The majority require no equipment and the ones that do have it as optional. I started with her immediately after surgery. Now to challenge myself, I do them in my pool for more resistance. The downside is she is EXTREMELY OVER THE TOP PEPPY so sometimes I've muted her and have followed along to my own music. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVl6ZdslZz2Zj-34bMJFPbg Burpee Girl-I just found her and I do at least two of her workouts a week. She can be modified for all levels. She has videos that are walking to Pilates to dumbbell work. Her music she uses is extremely upbeat and engaging. She also has active break segments in her videos so you get a chance to cool down in between rounds. She doesnt talk or explain the moves but there is a ten second preview of each exercise before you do it. Highly recommended if you're wanting to challenge yourself a bit more. I put her at an intermediate level. When I outgrew Leslie Sansone, I found Burpee Girl and love her content. https://www.youtube.com/c/BurpeeGirlLiss Billy Blanks-Tae Bo. AS a 90's girl, I remember doing this in gym class and sweating to death. He has his own YouTube channel with really good workouts. A lot of focus on kicking and punching, great for when I need to expend a lot of negative energy. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMGIp3jifsoufZv_y8_c1Qg Yoga with Kassandra- She is so soothing. I love her videos and do them on my off days to stretch. She's very calm and it makes you feel like you're in a yoga class. If you cant do a move, she recommends ways to do it so you can modify your practice. I am not a yoga person but the stretches help and she doesnt make it new agey.https://www.youtube.com/c/yogawithkassandra

My surgery is scheduled for September 6th. I had my initial appointment with my weight loss center on April 1st. I am also using Baritastic. I have used My Fitness Pal previously, but like Baritastic better. I have been slacking a little, but getting back to it. I am nervous, but so excited.

MotownNixie reacted to Djmohr in Would a ring size change after surgery?
This is kind of funny, I am 7 weeks post op tomorrow. I wear two very beautiful rings that I will never take off. In fact I made my husband hold them in his pocket while I went in for surgery and made them give them back when I got to my room. I started losing weight so quickly that withi two weeks post off one of them was spinning completely around and the other was quite loose as well. At 4 weeks 1 went flinging off my ring hang when I went to pick something up off the table.
I went into the jeweler and the actually put an insert on them that will allow me to tighten them as I continue to lose weight. Once I have reached my goal, we will permanently size them. One of my rings was actually 3 sizes too big in a matter of weeks. It seems like the first place to lose.
