Question about hair loss after sleeve

That is great advice! Thank you! I have thinning hair on top as it is and it was really scary for me to think about more at hair losses as I keep reading about others who were losing their hair after surgery, but reading your comment made me reassured and confident now that it will go back to normal within a couple of months at least it's not permanent thanks once again πŸ™πŸ˜Ševery little bit of knowledge helps to make it more successful on this WLS journey πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘ Everybody's body reacts differently ours may not be the teeth it may maybe the hair we can never know but yes I've heard that teeth do get brittle if not taken adequate supplementsπŸ˜•

    May 2022 surgery?

Just reading your comments, I've had to wait 5 years in the public system then covid hit! That added another 2 years on top of the 5! so eventually I gave up! I wasn't even thinking about it anymore and was just over it, till March 24th they called me asking if I would be ready for the surgery in two weeks April 7th 😳and I said NO! (That was too much of a short notice,) wasn't ready for that I needed at least a month for preparations lol I was happy to hear that they had a vacancy for the 27th of April lol so I accepted that one, I've done all my blood tests seminars and everything else I was asked to do I'm very low on iron its down to 10 where it should be 45 so im told I will be getting an iron infusion on the 14th otherwise I won't be fit enough to go in to theatre, but none the less I weighed at 109kg back in December and today I weigh at 99kg I'm really trying to lose as much as I can on my own by cutting down on carbs and sugar and resisting my usual Temptations just so I have a quicker recovery I'm on the shakes diet atm I've just done a whole lot of meal preps with lots of low starch vegetables that are on my "allowed to eat list" steamed and chopped chucked it in the deepfreeze! and loads of salad so they will be a companying my Optifast shakes before and after the surgery I realised my downfalls and mistakes were NOT doing meal preps ahead of time as I would just grab whatever was in the fridge when I was feeling peckish, I really want this to work as I've waited so long for this surgery, the only thing thats really stuck on my mind is that we have to take multivitamins for the rest of our lives 😳Other than that I'm ready for this journey and a whole new life style that will change my life for the better!πŸ‘πŸ€ž

    May 2022 surgery?

Hi Nelly I'm due on the 27th of April I noticed you said our taste buds will change I've never heard that one before can you tell me a bit more about that what actually happens😳
  9. Oh wow! 200 300 calories that's quite a difference from what we normally had, naturally the body goes into shock and low on energy! but hopefully we will all succeed in our Target, I'm sure in the long-run everything will be a lot easier and it will be worth it all πŸ™πŸ€žπŸ‘
  10. Hi Charlie! Hope all goes well for you in your weight loss journey πŸ‘πŸ™I'm interested to know what happens the day after surgery how do you feel what are you supposed to be doing are you meant to be walking around the day after because I heard some people found it very beneficial to walk to release the gases in the stomach the day after, but wouldn't that be painful with the stitches so fresh?

Question about hair loss after sleeve

Yes apparently the teeth can get brittle and break😐
  12. Hi, I have started my liquid diet but my dietitian wanted me to add 2 cups of vegetables and one teaspoon of oil as well as the 3 meal replacement shakes and 2 litres of water I don't know how I'm going to fit the 2 L of water but I'm trying😐
  13. I think I developed it with my first daughter as I have a lot of fluid retention throughout my body and just the sudden weight gain in the pregnancy yes I've been told that having the hernia repaired is going to change my life around I can't wait😁😁😁
  14. Yes same here I was supposed to have gastric sleeve but the hernia changed it to a gastric bypass. Here's a glimpse of what mine looked like, notice how the inner lining of my stomach is spread out to my oesophagus! had no idea it was the case till I saw the picture😳

  16. Hi Marlann, It's so good to read other people going through the same thing as yourself and so reassuring isn't it😊 I'm glad I joined this forum and I'm lovin It my hiatus hernia is quite bad too I didn't know what a hernia was until I saw the image when they went down with a gastroscopy I thought it was just a lump in the stomach! And the Roux EN Y is referred to as 'gastric bypass' here in Australia I didn't understand what it meant at first so I had to search it on Google now I know lolπŸ˜ŠπŸ‘ Good luck Marlann! πŸ‘πŸ€ž I'll be following you as well and whereabouts are you from😊

Question about hair loss after sleeve

My main concern is the hair loss and teeth with wls as I already have fine hair and very thinning on the top related with hormones and ageing I guess and after reading so many comments and experiences with people who have lost their hair I have come to the conclusion that taking the right supplements and protein religiously everyday is the key to keeping everything healthy😐
  18. Hi all! My date is the 27th of April gastric bypass + hiatus hernia repair, I weighed at 109kg in December last year I've lost 9 ks since then by cutting out the carbs and sugar I must admit I HAVE cheated a lot but managed to lose some regardless LOL We all fall off the wagon at times but the main thing is to get back on it! -Still have 35 ks to lose! 😊πŸ’ͺ🀞 Best of luck to everyone! 🀞🀞🀞😊😊😊
  19. Oh wow! Yeah I definitely agree we should keep in touch and follow up on our outcomes and share our own experiences and ideas would be so good! I'm very happy that I found this forum it gives me a lot of confidence as I read other people's experiences😊 Thank you for your complement with my surname😊 I'm from Australia Melbourne may I ask what your name isπŸ™

      Hi Debber,

Firstly congratulations you're on your upcoming surgery which is not far off! πŸ₯³πŸ₯³

Unfortunately my scheduled date has been postponed due to covid cases taking up all the beds in the hospital and I've been told either May 2nd or the 16th even those days aren't guaranteed at this time! it all depends on the availability of the beds.

Oh well I look at it from a glass half full side, I'm a believer that everything happens for a reason, better late than never! Good luck on your surgery and please keep me updated as I will be following you😊

      All the bestπŸ€žπŸ™πŸ˜Š
