    Shoulder Pain

Ask your dr. for Ultram. It's a non-narcotic pain medication and works great for me. Believe me, I tried everything else.

    Shoulder Pain

I was banded on 7/24/08 and I am still suffering from the shoulder pain. They say it's from the air they pump into your stomach during surgery. I actually started massage therapy 2 weeks ago and that seems to be helping. It's weird that some people get it while others don't. Hopefully it will go away soon. I mean how much air could they have pumped in there? I want to deflate not inflate!
  5. Hi neighbor! I'm in Puyallup.Where did you go for your fills? Any chance it was NWWLS in Everett? Thats where I got my band, by Dr Michaelson.
  6. I have my first fill scheduled on Aug 21st and now I'm so terrified after reading all the horror stories!! I also have a nurse doing mine. Can anyone tell me what fluero is? I definitely gonna have her numb me first.

    Shoulder Pain and Hunger

Hi Kristi, I was banded on July 24th and after a day or two, started getting that pain in my shoulder and neck. I was told that is from the gas they put in your stomach during surgery. It moves up into your shoulder area creating the pain. Some never get pain, others might have it for six weeks or more. I'm still getting it slightly, every once in awhile and I'm 3 weeks post op. A week after surgery my dr. said to take ibuprofen every 3 hrs to control the pain and that seemed to help. Good luck! Judi R.

to smoke or not to smoke

Just quit smoking, if not for yourself then for the rest of us who have to smell you!!! Sorry if it's harsh but smoking is disgusting and makes you smell really bad!
  9. Being tanned always looks better. But don't go overboard, you don't want the leather look. Just a nice soft tan. Being here in Washington, I do the fake bake but just enough to keep some color.
  10. Congrats on being banded! I just got mine on July 24th and let me tell you, I am so ready for some real food!! I have been on liquids for 1 week then soft, mushy foods for the 2nd week. Come on scrambled eggs!! During the 1st week, I was able to have pudding, and creamy soups. The best thing was the sugar-free fudgsicles because those allowed you to actually chew. Tomorrow start week 2 for me. So far I have had a great experience(except for the shoulder pain!) I have lost a total of 10 lbs since 5 days before my surgery. But they say this is time for healing, not losing weight. So hopefully it will coming off easier once I'm able to get some real nutrition in me. Well good luck!
  11. Check in for me was 6am and I had an hour and a half to travel. And even though my dr. overslept, I was still out of there in 3 1/2 hours!! Had an awesome experience considering it was my first surgery ever!
  12. Hi there! I just got my band 5 days ago. I have had no problems with the band itself, however, I do have alot of pain in the shoulder/neck area. They say it's from the anesthesia. Anyone else have this sort of pain?
