I don’t yet have an after photo because I had my surgery this past Tuesday (September 21st), but I will share my very uncomfortable before photos just so I can really keep up with myself. I’m not proud of these photos, but I am proud of myself for getting through that surgery and being on the other side now!

Shazza_ob1 the anxiety struggle is real! I, very recently had a huge anxiety melt down. For me organization is key. Having a folder or binder will be helpful. I cleared a shelf in my pantry for all of my post surgery supplies. This helped me greatly. I'm in the US and I assume by your wording you are not. I have no idea how the insurance process works but never be sorry for saying how you feel here. This is a safe place for all of us to say what we are feeling. Good luck 😊

Been a while since I checked in. A friend of mine said, "You know, if you do a French tuck*, you can show off those belt buckles of yours. You're slim enough now."
I am not convinced this is the style for me (feels like I wasn't paying attention after pulling my pants up and accidentally buttoned them around my shirt), but damn if it didn't feel nice to actually be able to do it. So here I am, another almost 40 lbs. down, 39 to go. Three quarters of the way to goal.

    * French tuck - you tuck in the front but not the back. I know no French people who do this, but maybe it's named after Tan France instead of France France.

I was starting to go down that rabbit hole too, then I stopped reading so many message boards and looking for things to worry about. Fact is, sure you can run into issues but you would have more issues remaining overweight. That’s what I keep telling myself. If we focus on our Protein intake, walking and moving around as much as possible, taking our Vitamins etc all will be good.

Shame was a constant companion when I was obese. Not going back there for anything in the world. No thanks. I will value my body and be honest about what goes into it.

I'm both a slow loser, and a serial staller. I've lost weight post-surgery at the same rate I did when I tried the old-school calorie counting. I've never had the "honeymoon period" folk on here talk about. I've lost count of how many stalls I've had, and have just this week finally broken another three week stall of zero weight loss. Like you, I follow my plan to the letter, do regular exercise, and know I eat at a large calorie deficit.
So I absolutely know how you feel!
But as The Greater Fool said - you cannot compare yourself to others, and you cannot let yourself be ruled by the scale. The weight IS coming off, and if it's coming off slower, that's not a bad thing! With luck my slow rate will give my skin the best chance of bouncing back. The trick is to enjoy your own journey without worrying about others, and to Celebrate your own little milestones and victories. Because they're happening.

Thanks so much everyone! I’m happy to report that surgery went very well! I came home Tuesday and have very minor discomfort. I’ve just been focusing on hydration and protein:)
