    Lap band removal

My band was removed for the 2nd and last time this weekend. I am very scared about future but also hopeful not to have to deal with the band issues as well. The first time it slipped I had no pain, but had some heart burn and reflux. The 2nd time I had lots of pain and very few issues. With 2 slips there really was no choice but to remove the band. My Dr. is not one for talking much so not sure if there were other options or not. The way I see it is that there is some reason that the band will not work in my body anymore and I am glad that I had it taken out when I did and did not wait until it had gotten worse. Feeling pretty good 3 days out and able to eat what I want. I am glad i had it done and but am glad too i think to be free of the issues of it as well. Back to reg person trying to lose weight.
  5. My doctor told me that calories really are not important. Just to make sure to eat proteins first and to try to stay to 3 meals. No drinking calories either.

    First Fill

Hello All, I need a little help. I just had my first fill yesterday and ate my first real meal. I am not sure if I overate or if I did not chew well. I ending up hurting and spitting up alot of slimy stuff. How do you tell if you are full? I cannot seem to stop the burping of the stuff and then throwing up more. Other things like yogurt and liquids had no problem.
  7. Are you feeling better today? Trust me, it will get easier!

  10. I am eating cream of wheat and that is going pretty well. I am getting good protein. They have this tubes called New Whey and they have 42 grams of protein in 3 oz size. Its a good one that is ok with the doctors. Much easier than shakes. More like a shot.LOl I am taking my time. Just feel more uncomfortable than I thought i would.
  11. Hello, I just got banded this week and could use a person to talk to one on one for problems and encouragement. I am in Oregon but anywhere would be fine. I can call or use yahoo chat. Right now I am just full of questions and still sore and swollen. Contact me if you could use a friend or just want to help out.
  12. I also am looking for a band buddy. I have yahoo chat as well. I was just banded on the 23rd of July and would love to chat one on one.

    Tricare

Once all was said and done it only took a few days. But you have to follow their guidelines closely. Having to see andpay for dietician and pschologist, and diet classes. Then They said I was not heavy enough. But in the end they approved and I had mine done last week.

    Need Some help!!!

I just got banded last week too. I love the New Whey liquid protein from GNC or Vitiman world. Only 3 oz. so goes down easy. Shakes are too much for me. Cottage cheese almost killed me, cause it got stuck so not eating anymore of that

    hypothyroidism

Yes I am also hypo. Have been since they did iodine when I was young. Went from hyper to hypo and been heavy ever since. I just got banded, but it seems to me it can be slower but stillpossible. Also depends what your eating habits or hangups are. Mine seem to be about portion control, so seems to be dropping pretty quick. We will see what the months bring
