  1. Did you lose slowly with your surgery. Are you having any problems keeping it off.
  2. You are so right. I remember working for a retailer and they said. If you make one person happy they might tell 5 people. But if you make one person made, they will tell 50. There is a lot of truth to that. I never go by reviews. Not sure why this forum has me 2nd guessing.
  3. If that happens maybe I'll be on social security and have Medicaid. Maybe it will pay for a revision surgery lol.
  4. Ok I looked it up. Thanks for that info
  5. I am. I guess I came to this forum to put to rest the fear of GERD but it's only elevated it. My coworker had it done in January and is doing great. She had GERD and was on 2 pills a day for it. Now she down to 1. I was ok until I read people saying it can happen year or more after surgery. The only people I know that has had the surgery has been with in this last year.
  6. I'm not big enough for bypass. I have health reasons to get the wls now. But my bmi is only 36
  7. After a forum from yesterday. The worry I had about getting GERD is a lot stronger. The thought of it happening to me scares me. When I do do acid reflux (which is not often ) it does make me sick. This is a out of pocket surgery for me. My insurance doesn't cover wls. So I can't afford this surgery and then have to pay to get bypass if I get GERD. My mood now is so different. I was so happy I made the decision to get the surgery. And after yesterday today I'm scared and sad. I need positive thoughts ❤️
  8. I remember my surgeon saying. That if they get the stomach too small. That's what can cause a lot of the acid reflux. So I guess they are aware of what causes it now?? I don't get acid reflux a lot now. I know what can trigger it. Coffee is a big trigger. And going several hours not eating will cause it to. ( I'm a hairstylist and I don't take breaks.) the triggers are something I can fix. coffee is something I don't have to have. So I've stopped drinking it. I'll have to start taking breaks to fix that. Ive already noticed that cutting coffee out has already stopped the little I would get.
  9. Ok. Just asking a question here....... since your surgery was 17years ago. Is it possible they have Perfected this surgery since you had it done? I've really been studying this surgery. ( I'm one to ask tons of questions) the info I get they are perfecting this procedure My surgeon told me about chances of acid reflux after surgery. He's been very up front about some complications.
  10. I’m going to put up a few of different things. I guess I’ll need to if taste buds change lol.
  11. This might be a strip question. But is VSG the same as gastric sleeve surgery?
  12. I have some isopure powder ordered. But I thought premix would be good for on the go.
  13. I found them on Amazon. But when I searched the product it said I could buy them at a few vitamin stores near me. I’m going to look for them tomorrow.
  14. After reading, I learned that I had to fill out that info by using my iPad instead of my phone. Thanks
  15. I'm getting the sleeve. I've tried to figure out how to fill out my surgery status but I haven't been able to yet ?‍♀️??‍♀️
  16. I'm looking into these. They are a higher in protein but are kind of expensive. But if they are good I'm will to buy.
  17. I'm scheduled for surgery and acid reflux after surgery is what scares me more then anything else. I only get it now after drinking coffee or going a long time with out eating. After reading these regrets ?‍♀️ And after reading your reply I'm now wondering. Is there a medication that will help acid reflux after surgery (if it happens to me) or is the gastric bypass the only way to correct it?
  18. Ok. What is/was your favorite clear protein drink? I'm trying to get my Gro list together. I have to drink clear liquids several days before my surgery and a week after. Did you buy it premixed or in power form?
  19. That's awesome! I love hearing successful stories. Tonight I've had the moment of questioning myself if I'm doing the right thing by having surgery. (Just worrying that something will go wrong) but reading and seeing your success. Help me take a deep breath and know I'm doing the right thing.
  20. I'm kinda hoping to be slow at losing. Because I thought maybe dropping fast will cause more loose skin. I've probably been at my highest for 2 years now.
  21. Oh wow. I hate that you went thru that. I'm glad I'm choosing to take off 2 weeks instead of just one.
