  1. But.., do you think you would have been ok to go home the same day? My surgery time is set for 8am. And they said they would release me around 6pm that night. I have to option and I'll pack a over night bag just in case.
  2. I was fasting. So I had nothing. I check again this morning and it was still above 200. Idk what's going on ?
  3. I haven't been taking anything for my blood sugar. But I do metformin prescribe to me. I started taking it last night. I hope this bring it down. It's crazy that it never been in the 200s and now that I've cut back a lot on carbs and drinking more protein shakes. My sugar all of a sudden decided to shoot up ?‍♀️
  4. My blood sugar has been going up but it's never been over 200. The last time I had my A1C ran it was 6.5. Guess I'll know in a few days if this is going to prevent me from getting surgery.
  5. I went for my pre-op today and my fasting blood sugar was 250. It's never been that high and today of all days it decided to go high. I'm now worried they won't do my surgery. Idk what to do.
  6. My surgery is the 26th also.
  7. I was given the option. If they or I feel like I need to stay. I can be admitted but if everything is fine they said I could go home. Just trying to figure out how much pain I'll be in.
  8. I've talked to a few people personally and 2 out of 3 said they got really dehydrated and had to get it IV Fluids more then once days after surgery. I'm trying to figure out how to prevent this from happening. I know drink fluids but they said they were but still got dehydrated. Any tricks I need to know. I'm 2 week out from surgery ?
  9. So going home same day is doable. Thanks
  10. Did you stay the night or did you go home same day?
  11. Did you stay over night at the hospital or did you go home the same day? I'm thinking if going home same day. But not sure if that's the best thing to do. I have a high tolerance for pain. But I know WLS pain might be different.
  12. I tried this powder in a different flavor and I didn't like it. It was ok in a premix but the premix is high in sodium.
  13. I've only tried isopure. I have the protein20 but I haven't tried it yet. They all seem to be high in sodium. So I've been afraid of even trying the other brand lol. I just wanted to see if anyone had found some lower in sodium.
  14. I've noticed that the clear proteins are high in sodium. Has anyone found any that is low in sodium? So far the ones I found taste like Pedialyte?.
  15. I need correct my statement. I looked it up again. He does Lapband, sleeve, bypass and duodenal switch. Under the bypass info it has info about RYGB but nothing about mini bypass.
  16. Thanks, I've now talked to several that have had the sleeve and did not develop GERD and several that medicine controls it. Most of them say it's the food they eat that will trigger it. I've have recently figured out my triggers and it's coffee for me. I have started taking nexium just so I get it in my system before surgery. It might just end up being something I do now. Because of my fear of getting GERD.
  17. Where was your surgery performed? I don't think my surgeon does the mini bypass or RYGB
  18. I don't qualify for bypass. My bmi isn't high enough. I'm still on track for surgery. My nerves are still high but I'm going to go through with it.
  19. Did you use him? I just noticed this was from 2021
  20. He is doing my sleeve in April. He was my coworkers dr too. She had her sleeve done in January
  21. Good luck to you also. We just have to focus on the reasons we are getting this done. A healthier lifestyle and new life.
  22. My surgery date is scheduled for April 26th. I'm a ball of emotions right now. Im sure it will be worse the days just need before ?
  23. I'm following this because this is information that will be very helpful. I've been so focused on the surgery part, (I've almost canceled but for now im still on track for March 26th). I need to focus on the diet part after surgery. Because no diet/lifestyle change before surgery ever worked lol.
  24. Is it around your belly button? Just wondering if it could be your gallbladder
  25. The isopure power was awful!! It tasted like perfume ?. I did buy a couple of premixed bottles of isopure and I liked it. But it doesn't do anything to take away the hunger. Doing clear liquids before surgery is going to be hard ?
